B&B Baren was a great B&B for our overnight through Switzerland. The host was very friendly and met us upon arrival, the room was very large (we had the "Funk Suite") with amazing views to the mountains, the breakfast was wonderful, and we were so grateful that such a lovely place was dog friendly too! The room was appointed with a nice table, a nice modern bathroom, and even a comfy couch to make the stay even nicer. If you plan to hike, there are lots of hikes right from the B&B and there is one restaurant in easy walking distance, but all others you should probably drive.

I love church bells, but if you don't, ask for a room near the back as the B&B is across from the church and it does ring throughout the night. I also didn't find the pillows comfortable, but that is a personal choice.

We loved staying here! The breakfast every morning was very good. My partner took part in an event here and we were leaving early in the morning so the host put our breakfast in our room the day before so we could have it early. The rooms are very spacious, clean and decorated really nicely (the pictures online don’t do it justice). The views are amazing. Overall the B&B is lovely, we would definitely return. The lady who runs the place is so helpful, friendly and really accommodating. Don’t hesitate to book!

I like everything about the property: the kitchen, the room, the interior design, etc. The owner is very enthusiastic, warm-welcoming, caring and also has sense of humor

Not really a dislike. I would say the only shortcoming of the property is far away from city center: 1hr by bus to Bern and 30’ by bus to nearby city center. I bought 1 day ticket to travel free for all public transportation. Total cost including the stay and local travel is equal or maybe less than stay cost in the city but I think it is totally worthy.

The owner made us feel welcome and at home. Beautiful old rural inn lovingly renovated and turned into a great BnB. The location is very rural, which is great if you are looking for a quiet and calm place to stay. Breakfast was really nice with cheese and meat varieties, yoghurt, eggs, artisan breads. We had a very good time

Nice old farmhouse converted into a B&B. Very kind owner, Stylish traditional breakfast room downstairs, all "wood panelled" for a generous breakfast selection of local goodies, yogurt from the village... Very large rooms, mine even had a cozy balcony.

No air-con, so if it is a hot day, you might find it difficult to sleep. ?

We loved the view of the mountains, a picture card! Kiki, our host, was very accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding. The location was close to Bern and Thun.

We were looking for someplace off the beaten path and did we ever find it! The little village of Rueggisberg is so quiet and peaceful (you do need to enjoy cowbells and church bells). We could have stayed here another night and taken some lovely hikes. The B&B Baren was everything we were hoping for and more. Kiki was a delightful host--her property is an old building (basement from about the 1300s if I remember correctly, upper building last rebuilt around 1860) that has been wonderfully remodeled without losing any of its charm. I loved, loved, loved staying in such a quintessential Swiss building. Each room is very spacious with a good bathroom set up. It's fun to explore how she's decorated each room along with the common areas. There's even beautiful little reading nook. Rainy weather and misty clouds obscured the view of the alps in the far distance, but a wonderful evening stroll down to the monastery ruins revealed gorgeous views of closer rolling mountains just the same. There was a great little wanderweg nearby that took us along a gurgling stream, depositing us on the road just outside the village. The beds were just right! Breakfast was a great repast of homemade breads and jams, along with cheese, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, and more. We used public transportation and accessed Rueggisberg via train to Bern then 2 lovely bus rides. The bus stop is right by the Baren (Rueggisberg, Post).

The room was big with a lot of space, there were additional places in the property to sit down and have a cup of tea or coffee which was really nice. the breakfast was great and the owner was lovely

The place has amazing serenity and beauty. The B&B provides perfect services - fresh and delicious breakfast, friendly and helpful hostess, highest hygiene standard… Everything is perfect with B&B Baren. I wish one day I can be back again. ❤️
