Breakfast buffet - loads of good food to choose from! Dinner - I paid for half board so evening meal was inclusive. It was a 5 course meal (starter, soup, salad buffet from salad bar, main course and dessert); the food was very tasty and high quality! Very good catering staff who were so accommodating & friendly! Location - very near to the ski lift bus stops. The ski shop I hire my skis is just a few steps away from the hotel. The hotel is in the central location of the village. My room is very clean with nice decoration. Smaller than the hotel rooms I stayed in other hotel but could not remember how much I was paying then. Very quiet though. The bed is very comfortable. Every evening the housekeeper would deliver and put some toblerone chocolates onto my bed! Very sweet gesture from the hotel. Swimming pool - the swimming pool is quite big when compared to many other hotels. Very nice decoration.

The staff was amazing and the breakfast was so worth it. The room was spacious and the view of The Matterhorn was fantastic. It wasn’t TOO far from the main city center which we loved. The spa area was very nice and the mini fridge with drinks in it was a big bonus.

The shower left a lot to be desired. The rain shower head barely had pressure and the glass didn’t extend far enough so you ended up getting a lot of the bathroom wet. Additionally, there seemed to be the start of black mold along the corner of the bathroom. I also ended up getting stuck inside of the elevator. I didn’t mention it to anybody that worked there, though. I thought maybe it was a fluke because I pressed a button more than once but the following day the elevator was down (but only briefly).

The staff was at the train station awaiting our arrival with a shuttle, and they kindly delivered us back to the train station upon on departure. I'm unclear of tipping culture in Switzerland, but I never felt like that was expected. We happily left something for the team to share upon our departure, and that was received with appreciation.

I contacted the hotel prior to our arrival asking for assistance with booking our evening meals during our stay. We're used to staying at larger properties where the concierge service is a bit more comprehensive. We ended up making our own reservations, but I feel as if we might have found restaurants more to our liking with the help of someone with local knowledge.

This was the best hotel during our holidays. We liked everything as it felt like "home away from home". We were welcomed by smiley and helpful lady at the reception who explained us the rules and gave the maps. Room was amazing, the owners clearly pay attention to the details - the decor of the room, comfy beds, bathrobes, coffee/tea facilities, lovely views from the balcony and welcome card message to our family with bars of chocolate in the shape of Matterhorn mountain :-) It made us smile. The spa and swimming pool are the oasis of tranquility - we were the only guests there and we enjoyed it to the max. Swimming pool is huge, it changes colours, at spa you can make yourself tea and relax. AMAZING. We also used hotel restaurant - the food was delicious but what made us feel welcome was the visit of the owner who approached each table. This says a lot a about the hotel and "CARING" for their guests. We also had a chance to meet the owner at the breakfast where we expressed our gratitude and compliments. Breakfast was very rich and tasty with plenty of options to choose from (the local products are so tasty, bread, cheese from the mountains...all yummy). In addition there is fresh orange juice and you may enjoy a glass of prosecco. Thank you to the entire FAMILY JULEN for hosting us - we will definitely be back :-)

Best staff ever. They really went out of their way to make my stay special and were brimming with genuine warmth - every single person I interacted with. I had a constant smile on my face and that is particularly due to the incredible staff. Both in Tradition Julen and Hotel Alpenhof (which has a spa you cannot miss out on). The location is close to the town center and there is a shuttle to/from the train station + sister hotel. The restaurant is phenomenal as well as the breakfast. So many little details that made this a truly unique experience like offering me a discount and a drink voucher when I extended my stay, giving tips about getting around the mountain, and somehow always finding chocolate in my room (sometimes even hand-delivered). What an absolute delight, and an experience I will hold onto for a long time.

Not a single thing wrong. A perfect stay and an incredible experience!

Super convenient. You can walk to the Zermatt Glacier tram in about 10 min or take a bus, which also takes about the same time with the wait. Taxi would be a few minutes. Hotel ownership was friendly and helpful. We really felt welcomed. Breakfast was fantastic. A wide variety of cuisine to suit your appetite. All staff were very patient and helpful. Accommodations have recently benefitted from extensive renovations providing a contemporary feel while maintaining the traditional heritage of the property and resort.

Fabulous location, we had a room with a balcony and we could see the Matterhorn. Included in our tariff was a well presented buffet and continental breakfast. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and received great service by the check in staff. We were picked up in an electric vehicle from the train station and taken to the hotel. Afternoon tea was provided free of charge. They have 2 restaurants, a SPA and pool area. There is an elevator and stairs. Our room was perfect, comfortable bed with soft pillows. Bar fridge contents was included in our tariff with daily top up. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night visit. The young lady at the reception assisted me when I needed to print off some pending itinerary, all done with a smile and no trouble at all attitude. So impressed. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was beautifully appointed giving a cozy but completely updated feel it was a chalet with whimsical sheep wool on chairs on the balcony, photos in the dining room and small carved sheep on window sills. There was a keen attention to detail! Clearly the owners have pride in their hotel the story about the owners and their family is fascinating dating back to an Olympic champion. The rooms were walled in pine with very comfortable beds. There is even a motion sensitive light at night near the bathroom! The breakfast is absolutely delicious with many many choices. My husband enjoyed the fresh eggs and bs on and we both liked the fresh fruit , granola and wonderful breads. It was an exceptional hotel with staff who earnestly Addis you with absolutely anything!!

Wonderful staff, really friendly and helpful. The owner was always about and would say hello to everyone which gave a personal touch. Pool was nice, didn't find the steam room! Well located everything was in walking distance. We booked a Matterhorn room which was very spacious as well as having a superb view. Just lovely.

Room was too warm for me - too used to a cold house!
