A lively, clean, cosy place right in the middle of a busy maze of tiny streets in the heart of Stone town Close to the harbour, ferry and boat services. Close to Mercury restaurant. Lovely hosts, Gertrude and her female staff. Very positive vibe and helpful tips. You can request simple snacks if needed.

I would not hesitate to go back there if needed just a room for the night or two. However, if you want a rooftop bar or restaurant and a pool, there are lovely accommodation options nearby. We had to go to other hotels for meals with for example sunset views.

The staff were great, but language was a draw-back with much hand gestures we managed fine Breakfasts were great

No tea/coffee maker in the rooms No manager at the hotel there was a water leak and was left to the staff to deal with. Some guests were irate as had no water for at least 16 hours. Fortunately my daughter managed to calm them down as the staff were being as helpful as they could be

Very supportive staff. They took care of my luggage days before the check in and afterwards with no issues. Always friendly and kind! Thanks for the lovely stay.

The ground floor rooms can be a bit too noisy since it is in the heart of Stone Town, so you can hear people outside. However, it was my choice to stay downstairs to avoid dealing with the luggage on the stairs- so no complaints here. :)

Gertrude, .our host made our stay exceptional. Offering support and guidance exploring Stone Town. She went over and above to make sure all our needs were met. Breakfast was great. The whole reception team were helpful and a pleasure to be around. Always greeting us with a smile, and welcoming us. The host made this stay twenty out of ten.

Mosquito nets need to be updated.

Very nice place in an old town house. It is a basic accomodation but has a roof top bar and a good atmosphere. Very good value for the price

Big rooms and helpful staff.

The cafe opposite ripped me off and gave me an upset stomach. Do not use.

The staff was very accomodating especially Gertrude and Martina. Room was big and clean. Location is very close to Forodhani.

There was a lot of noise as there was construction nearby, no free water provided at leastz

The manager Gertrude was absolutely amazing. She let us to use the shower facilities after the checkout time. Moreover she is very kind and knowledgeable. Welcome cold drinks on a hot day were unexpected bonus to our experience.

We had a great welcome by the workers, they gave us complimentary drinks, natural ginger and lime juice at their terrace. We originally booked a shared bathroom but they gave us a room with own bathroom, that was very nice of them. The building is very old and historic, over 100 years old near the port of Stonetown and can see the ships from their terrace. Our room was very small but clean. There was a AC and and ceiling fan. Internet works great at the terrace and at the rooms. Workers helped us with everthing they can possibly help with a great smile. If you are looking for a place very good price and clean you should choose this place, bear that in mind that it is an building.

The cushions at the terrace can be cleaner.
