I loved it here. There was something serene about it. All was relaxed and quiet. The pools were lovely and clean and there were never too many people there. One of them was pretty much empty all the time. The reception staff were particularly lovely, it was a joy to see them. I didn’t mind that the beach wasn’t really for swimming, the tide was often too far out but it made for easy walking on the beach. There was also a relaxed atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant which was on the beach. I also didn’t mind that the service there was slow and inattentive. I just loved being there. The rooms were modern and had everything you needed.

The call to prayer woke you at about 5.20 but you can just go back to sleep or adjust your sleeping times.

Our room was very nice! It had direct access to the pool (after a requested upgrade). The best thing about the hotel was the staff, all people at the reception were very friendly and nice. And at the restaurant Chris helped us amazingly, also he made the best mai Thai we every had!! The fresh made eggs at breakfast were also very good:)

The Thai food in the restaurant was good, but more expensive than outside the resort. The western food was not so good. Initially we booked the honeymoon villa, but this was not as nice as it sounds. The staff helped us with an upgrade (but we had to pay for this)

The hotel is very comfortable and quiet. My room was nicely appointed with a lovely view over the pool and out to the sea. I liked that I could rent a scooter to get around the island, which I would highly recommend as there isn’t much to do around the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The bed was so so so uncomfortable. It felt like I was sleeping on a box spring - I finally checked and saw that the mattresses do have pillow tops on them but I honestly couldn’t tell. I would recommend to the property that they add another pillow top mattress cover to offer some more cushioning. Having a poor sleep when you’re on vacation is not fun!

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel and enjoyed several aspects of it. The staff is very friendly, always smiling. The room was very clean, well-equipped, and included a lovely balcony overlooking the tropical garden a relaxing view to start and end the day. The pool was excellent, and we appreciated having towels provided for our visits there. The location was also ideal, making it easy to explore the island. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant in the evening, and the experience was fantastic. The food was authentic Thai, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. We also used the laundry service, which was perfect our clothes came back clean and properly dried, which was very convenient.

The only downside was that there was no hot water in our room after 10 p.m., which was a bit disappointing.

Two nice swimming pools, beach access. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food, slightly pricey but eye for detail and good quality. Some restaurants nearby (go to Chill Chill @ Pai)

We had two power breakdowns (the whole islandhad no power) (one lasted for 9 hours). The owner should consider to buy a big diesel generator. We missed a drying rack on our balcony.

Very nice property on a quiet island away from crowds. Restaurant was with view on the pier and ocean, you could sit in the sand and enjoy a drink or some food. Breakfast was very nice, with variety of salty, sweet and fruits. There were two pools at the property. One closer to the restaurant and one connected to some of the rooms. We really liked that you could order drinks and food from the restaurant and they would bring it to you by the pool, very good service! We booked the junior suite with pool access. The room was surprisingly small, not the size you expect from a "suite" as we had trouble to find space to open two big suitcases on the floor. It was very nice to have the pool access, but I also think it would have been nice to have that pool reserved for the guests that actually paid for the pool access from the room, because everyone could just come into that pool from the whole hotel. The staff were always very helpful with everything we needed. They arranged the transfer for us from and back to Phuket (also very last minute the day before we arrived) and it was the best decision to have it booked through them, it was all super smooth! We also booked a scooter at the hotel, you could book for full day or just half a day, which was very convenient. The island has almost no cars so it was a good place to try out driving a scooter for the first time. We also booked two day trips through the hotel: Hong Island and Phi Phi. I definitely recommend the first one! Amazing experience for great value. You have a long tail boat just for yourselves, stopping at different beaches and snorkeling spots, you can choose how long you would like to stay. We also had water, sodas, lunch and fruit provided. Wouldn't recommend Phi Phi, it's quite far so you spend a lot of time just being on the boat during the day and all the spots are very crowded with tourists (as to be expected I guess).

Beaches on Koh Yao Yai in general have many crabs on all of them, as well as many jellyfish in the water.

The swimming pools were the highlight for us here, there are two of them, both offering sun and shade. The large one is great for sunset too. The rooms were great too, we stayed in the Deluxe Room with Pool View which may be better than the regular double rooms as there may be bugs. The island itself is great too and we were very happy with where we chose to stay. The breakfast was tasty as well. The room felt so clean and we were very comfortable here. The free shuttle to Laem Haad Beach was great, it was incredibly beautiful there.

As a warning, you can't really swim in the ocean here as it's not very clean, it's quite shallow and there are potentially jellyfish too.

We loved the room with direct pool access. We used pool daily in the evening, when we came back from trip. The breakfast was nice too, also drinks were great at night. There is garage for your bike. Hotel employees will help with anything needed. Would come again.

In total I would say no issues at all. Maybe let's change soundtrack for breakfast as it was a bit too annoying to listen after few days :). Quite pricey too, but worth it to splurge a bit.

The hotel is located close to village life in a tucked away location that didn't feel like it was intruding. There are several local restaurants within close walking distance, some of which serve beer and provide a take away service. The restaurant outside the hotel, close to the beach, is great. As was the tour guide there who fixed our transfer at an unbeatable price and great service - highly recommend. The hotel staff are lovely - always smiling, as are the locals. The pool is really nice and clean. Rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Lovely big bed. Great to have use of the free kayak. Unfortunately the paddle board was out of action. We got a good deal on booking.com so really good value for money.

Bicycles are no longer available which is a shame as we would have liked to explore the island. The alcohol prices in the bar are really high compared to local bars, which is a shame as it would have been nice to have drinks in the hotel. Expect to pay more but not that much more.

Staff were amazing. They were really friendly and went the extra mile by personally coming to our room to collect us for a massage. They were very attentive at meal times and even remembered our room number whenever we visited reception. You can get massages by the pool for an excellent price (400 bhat for an hour). We booked a transfer from the airport which included a ferry and two taxis and it was seamless, which the hotel organised for us. They offer tours in reception, we would recommend the Khai island one, which visits three islands, it was incredible. Again, seamless organisation from the hotel for this. The two pools were not crowded at all and there was always space on sun beds, which were good quality sun beds. The beach bar has really nice vibes, with bean bags, chilled acoustic music and overlooks the ocean. You can sit on the beach and have drinks from where the hotel is. There is a travel place across the road from the hotel where you can hire mopeds for a cheap price (300 bhat for 24 hours). There are a number of local restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. We visited three and they were all lovely. It is so quiet on the island so walking back along the road is not an issue. There were toiletries in the hotel provided free of charge and we had fresh towels and beach towels each day.

You can't swim at the beach that the hotel is on due to the sea level. It is really shallow but you can wade in it to cool down. There are also thousands, no exaggeration, of crabs on the beach that the hotel is on so you can't lie down on it. The hotel do offer a free shuttle bus to another beach which is good. You can't snorkel on either beach as it is not clear enough.
