I cannot say enough great things about Hanoi House, from the amazing price to location, quiet at night, good wifi, cold a/c, friendly staff, clean, good size room, a great stay…

Few suggestions: 1) come into the room to do a quick clean every few days 2) I wish that instead of a duvet the bed just had a sheet and option for a blanket on top.I got too hot with the duvet on 3) the room is quite large, consider on the open wall to add another table to be able to lay out clothes on Thank you for everything Hanoi, we will be back.

They picked us up from the ferry dock which was nice. Staff were very friendly although communication wasn’t always clear because of level of English. Good location near to restaurants and beach. Our room was more spacious than we had expected with a nice amount of windows/light. We rented scooter through the hotel which was good. They have coffee and tea available throughout day in the hotel lobby area. The place had a nice chilled ambiance to it.

Our kettle was not clean at all, and although the staff cleaned it again ,it was still not good enough for use. The reception area doesn’t open until 8am, which is a bit late if you are trying to get a morning coffee from there.

It was a fantastic stay! The location is perfect, close to two of the best beaches and also close to the small row of shops and restaurants. The room is very modern, clean and comfortable, lovely balcony to sit on and play cards and drink a cold beer outside of the room. Coffee facilities and a fridge meant we could get our own breakfast in and keep drinks cool. The air con was very quiet and can be low enough that it keeps you cool at night without being too loud or cold/drying. We were booked to stay for 5 days but ended up extending our trip. Noi and the team were excellent, friendly and helpful.

There are dogs barking outside the room most nights so bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, this might not be an issue if you're not on the end room nearest to the road.

Really clean room and what was unique compared to many other places is that there were no lizards in the room at any point. The room was equipped with a small work desk and because the WiFi was pretty good, remote working was possible quite comfortably.

My room happened to be right next to and facing the road so I was fully aware of all traffic passing by. Luckily very little to no traffic during the night. Although the WiFi had good download and upload bandwith, I kept having packet loss issues during video calls. The shower didn't provide warm enough water in the morning (though it wasn't very cold either).

What a lovely property (garden full of flowers, deck-chairs)! Room is perfectly sized for one (also for 2 if you are not picky) and basically offers everything you need. It is very clean, has a fridge, you daily also get a free water. I loved mini private "balcony" on the backside with drying rack (too small for sitting though). Owner is nice and friendly and I had no problem with basic communication in English. I also got pickup at the pier after sending arrival information. Supermarket and several restaurants and bars walking distance away. Would love to stay here again!

Location is not directly on the beach, but still extremely close (10 min walk). Was not an issue for me.

This was our second time at the Hanoii House and it couldn’t have been better. Such a convenient, clean and comfortable place, very well located between the 2 main beaches of the island. It has everything you need to spend amazing days in Koh Mak. The staff and specially the owners are super friendly and helpful. The room is spacious enough, it has a service balcony where you can hang your wet clothes and stuff, the bathroom is clean with a good shower, quality body soap and very important, it dries quickly. The TV is smart so you can watch Netflix or whatever streaming service and the shared balcony is nice to sear down and have a coffee in the morning. We wished we could stay longer.

Really well finished accommodation, bed is among the comfiest I've slept in. Staff very friendly and helpful, booked ferry tickets to Koh Kood for us. Free transfer to and from the ferry which is a nice touch. Centrally located, 5 min walk to many restaurants and beach. Nicer beach at other side of island only 20 min walk - definitely worth it! Great aircon with good quiet mode setting for sleeping!

Walls are a bit thin, and can hear the many village dogs barking during the night.

Noi and her staff went beyond my expectations. I would happily stay there again. The location is great, just a short walk to restaurants and beaches. Noi arranged for a motorbike rental delivered to Hanoii house and also arranged for my departing ferry, all at good prices.

We just loved it here. The bungalows were very comfortable with a huge bathroom and the bed was very comfortable too. it was great to have chairs outside to sit and have a drink in the evening; there was also a large drying rack. It was very clean and well kept. There is a small cafe where you can get drinks and snacks and tea/coffee is free until 8pm when it closes. The staff are so lovely and very helpful. We hired a scooter from there which was great and they offer free pickup and taking to the pier. Although it is not on the sea front it is only 5-10 minutes walk away and we just used the facilities of the bigger resorts on the sea front (and bought a drink/lunch). We also used the Coco Cape resort paying 200 baht each with a free drink and you can go there as many times as you like; we have the resort almost to ourselves and there is snorkelling off the pier. All the local restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Fantastic accommodation on Koh Mak. The rooms are great, with comfortable beds, air conditioning and toiletries. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lovely garden in front of the rooms where you can sit and sunbathe. It is walking distance from the speedboat pier from Koh Chang, though the hotel staff will meet you at the pier and bring you to the accommodation. You can walk to lots of restaurants, cafes, massage and kiosks from here. Cheap and easy scooter rental from the accommodation also. Overall, it is a great base to explore the island, where it is quiet, central and also away from the sand flies at the beaches.
