Absolutely lovely hosts with a very filling breakfast every day. The room was cool and comfortable (much appreciated in the soaring July temperatures). It was in the heart of the Medina, and after the first two days we learned the route almost by heart. Everything was very clean and lovingly decorated. It was an all around wonderful stay.
The only thing that may have perhaps been better, and this could be on me for not asking, the checkout was a bit tricky and getting ahold of the hosts wasn’t always the easiest, although all of our needs were met and everything worked out perfectly in the end :)

The aesthetics, the location, the layout is all very traditional and gives a real authentic Tunisian vibe to it. They also have a balcony where breakfast is served (a really nice, traditional Tunisian breakfast made by the hosts!) where you’ll have the view of the minaret of zitouna mosque. It is located in the old city so it is just around the corner from the markets (the souk) and very close to zitouna mosque. You’ll be surrounded by locals if you wanted a more traditional experience. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful from the moment we entered until we left. She showed me the way to zitouna and made sure I learnt the way back and offered to do the same to where we were dining that evening. You will not be disappointed staying here!
As mentioned, it’s a transitional place in a traditional area which I know some people won’t be used to but it was good for us. Beds were comfy, AC was functioning and had a great location. Hot water a hit and miss but that maybe due to our lack of understanding on how to use it. Not that we needed it because of how hot the weather gets!

This cute little hotel was tucked into a quiet side street. The owner was the sweetest lady and made sure we were completely comfortable with our room and knew how the hot water / ac / and locks all worked before she left us.
The property is a bit difficult to find and the road is too small for some taxis to go down so we had to carry our luggage around for some time after being dropped off a few streets away and again when we had to find our taxi to the airport but some of the surrounding locals helped us find the place which was lovely.

The location was great! Loved being right in the Medina. The customer service was great. She went above and beyond, even offering us a room change part way through. The first bathroom was wetter than I liked but it is a really old buildings so what can you do? Plumbing wasn’t probably even a thing when it was originally built. The first room sept 5. My 15 year old liked the loft. The second room sept three and had the elevated bed area that we had seen in ruins. Decor was tasteful and cultural. We were kept well supplied in to and towels. Breakfast was eggs, bread, jelly, yogurt, coffee and tea everyday. Sole days she had oranges or cheese too. They even did it early one day to accounts your.
The first bathroom wasn’t awesome but see above, likely due to age of building and not an issue with the hospitality or facility per se.

It was our first stay in Tunis and Dar Kenza was the perfect place to stay. The house in the old town is great and the location in the medina is ideal for exploring and excursions in the enchanting medina. The street is quiet, although the bazaar is otherwise very busy. The rooms are spacious, tidy and lovingly decorated. It was all there, what we needed for four days. Breakfast on the roof terrace is also plentiful and interesting. You can see the minaret of the Great Mosque. Lutfi and Dou'a are loving and lovely hosts who make you feel welcome and always help when needed. We really enjoyed our stay in Dar Kenza and would love to come back. Thank you very much Lutfi and Dou'a and all the best for the future! Liane and Beatrice from Germany.

First of all, Madam is so kind. The location is great. You can reach many famous and historical places by walk. You can also reach place de Barcelona metro station which connects to Tunis Marine Train( to go Sidi bousaid) by walk. The rooms of hotel is very traditional, cosy and clean. The breakfast is sufficient and includes some traditional food and hand-made jams. WiFi is good. The roof is great to have breakfast and you can have a look the old Medina city and take incredible photos. We were a family and felt comfortable. There were international guests.
No car traffic. You should walk around 3-4 mins however this is an opportunity to realise cultural and colorful doors of Medina and take photos.

There are two important issues, first is the landlord she is a very nice and proactive person, she is vary helpful and polite, second thing is the location it's in the hard of the old city and very accessible. You feel like you are home
We are a family with 3 kids, please big enough to host us but it's not suitable for kids. Kitchen is not equipped at all, they should remove it from the description. Breakfast on the first day was not sufficient, its should be organized in a different way. There are small issues that must be maintained or replaced.

Everything was excellent, a beautiful and clean apartment in the best part of the Medina, with all the necessary to cook and great breakfast. Very nice traditional house. Most importantly the owners are very kind persons and beautiful human beings always caring for the well-being of their guests. We had a medical emergency and they helped us, staying with us and accompanying us at all moment, the same for the neighbors that also helped. They helped us to solve the problem and thank god everything went well, they did it all without expecting anything in return. They are amazing human beings that will make your stay unique.
everything was fine

Had an enormous suite on the first floor. Very comfortable bed, Tunisian style breakfast every morning and a super helpful host (Rebecca) who was easy to reach when I had any questions. The hotel is stone cold quiet at night making it very easy to sleep
My one tiny critique is the fact that its a little tricky to find. The labyrinthine medina can be a little difficult to navigate especially after most of the stores close.

The location is perfect, in Medina! Aziz is helpful in every aspect! If there is a need I suggest you just ask if Aziz can help you with that. It can save you a lot of hassle in planning effort. Dar Kenza is named after Aziz’s sister Kenza. Very nice and smart! I spent about 4 nights, experiencing different styles of rooms. Nice expense in Tunisia thanks to Dar Kenza!
