- located close to the tourist attractions of Sultanahmet (Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern) - close to tram station T1 - Gülhane or Sultanahmet (~250 m) - clean room and bathroom - very kind and attentive staff, communicate easily in English - you can quickly reach the restaurants and cafes in the area on foot.

- try to avoid room 208, because it's close to the emergency stairs which are frequented quite often by the staff (I guess) and they slam the door quite hard, especially in the early hours of the morning. - the breakfast is decent, it doesn't vary from one day to the next. Try not to arrive in the last half hour of breakfast, because there is a risk of not finding too many products.

The room is very clean and the facilities provided are similar to what's shown on the booking site. Staffs are very nice and helpful, with good English proficiency. They also provide airport transfer transport, which is very helpful for first-time visitors like us. Location is also very strategic to main tourist attractions, like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Sultanahmet Square, Gulhane Park, etc - no need to find any transport options because everything is within walking distance

Nothing, all good! If anything, we wish that the air conditioner inside our room could be changed personally (instead of using central-main AC) - because the outside weather isn't always that cold (we travel during the winter), but the default option was to use the AC as a heater. But this is just minor feedback : )

Location is very new and well located. You can reach any attraction in that area in maximum 10 min walking time. Small bonus: from some of the rooms you can see Hagia Sofia. The staff is very friendly and ready to help with any request. Rooms are clean and spacious. From the lobby you can see the old ruins of an ancient roman bath that are inside of the hotel. Ask for some turkish coffe when you arrive :) Next time I am in Istambul, I will stay again here.

Breakfast was a bit dissapoining for me. There are a lot of choices for vegetables and cheese, but for meat, pastry and egg-based dishes the choices were more limited.

The breakfast need to be improved

Friendly, courteous and good customer service. Property is clean and located in a quiet side street but close to numerous restaurants, trams and touristic spots.

Good breakfast but could be better if fruits were served.

Super friendly and professional staffs. Quality breakfast. Perfect location centre of Istanbul. Very quiet area. Soft bedding - slept like a log. Exceptionally clean.

Only downside was that room was too hot and stuffy. Told the staff that our A/C seemed to be broken but was told that all the rooms were the same - A/C is centrally manuevered and since it's winter month (October) they can't get it any lower. Was told we can lower room temperature by opening up the window which didn't work very well for us. Apart from this everything else was perfect.

The location is great, on a quiet street and about a 7 minute walk to the Blue Mosque. The hotel is quite new and fresh looking. Staff were excellent and friendly. Bed was perfect, bathroom and shower were excellent. Breakfast was decent.

The only issue was sleep interruptions related to the proximity to the muezzin calls during the night but that is to be expected in a city with so many mosques. With windows closed and earplugs in, the issue is much diminished.

It is brand new and has super clean, beautiful, quiet & spacious rooms. The location could not be better for sightseeing. We stayed in ‘superior’ rooms. We have recommended this hotel to our friends. When we return to Istanbul, this hotel will definitely our choice of place to stay. Great staff, friendly & very helpful - and they speak English.

The buffet breakfast needs a little improvement: more choice, better coffee. It is a only minor issue.

Shining Star hotel is a lovely and chic new hotel in a fabulous location near all the key sights. The staff is awesome and so helpful. The breakfast is excellent and has a lot of varieties and the breakfast area is so relaxing and well designed. The room was smaller but that is typical for the centre of Istanbul. The beds were very comfortable and everything was so clean. we appreciated having a reliable lift as one member of our family has mobility issues. They arranged our shuttle to and from the airport and also gave us excellent advice on getting around Istanbul. It’s a quiet side street very easy to get to places from. We also had a partial view of the Hagia Sofia from our room. Loved it!

When we just got in the hotel and were tired and hungry (and missed the breakfast), the guys on the front desk gathered a late breakfast for us and gave us some tea and sweets. And it was just getting better and better day after day. The hotel was such a gem! Totally worth the cost and the staff was beyond amazing. Everyone was helpful, thoughtfull and 24/7 ready to help and have a friendly chat. There is also a 24/7 coffee and tea maker for the guests downstairs, so you could go and have a nice warm drink if you got tired after your sightseeing. Oh, and the location is perfect – 3-5 minutes walk from Hagia Sofia. You can also enjoy the remains of an old hammam inside the hotel – it is renewed and you can enjoy the sight while having breakfast downstairs.
