Everything about this hotel is top class. From the reception staff to the well appointed and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended and we will be returning here for sure. Thanks to all of the staff for making our stay special.

Be careful when booking as some rooms have no outside view or natural daylight because the window overlooks a service staircase. This only shows when you click on the i icon for more information about the room prior to booking. It simply says, "no view." I believe that these are the standard twin/double and studios. The superior/deluxe rooms and their larger rooms with balconies are obviously fine and show pictures of the windows. Don't let this put you off, this hotel is excellent and if you have found it and they have vacancies, Book It !!

This is a great local hotel in a fantastic location. It was our first time in Istanbul, and we felt like everything we wanted to see was either in walking distance or easily accessible by transit. The hotel itself is comfortable and well-appointed, but what really sets it apart is the staff. The staff is absolutely fantastic. Both the day and the night front desk staff was so helpful and genuinely warm, offering great intel about the neighborhood. They arranged a very affordable laundry service for me, which was so appreciated. There was also a water outage in the neighborhood when we were there (not the hotel's fault at all, it was a city shut-off), and they were so apologetic about it that they arranged a free airport transfer for us. Completely unnecessary, but an example of true hospitality. Keep it up! We'll be back.

The location and staff were nice. :) The room (in general) was good. I also liked the minibar (incl. non-alcoholic beverages) and its prices. Nice place for 2-4 days staying.

I booked the room with two beds (for me and my friend), but our room was "upgraded" for a bigger one however there were a double bed and a sofa. Honestly, I was too tired to discuss it, so I took the sofa and it was a terrible decision in terms of sleep quality. It shouldn't be used at all as a place for sleep.

I am a regular guest there for a reason. It is the perfect combination of luxury and modesty; welcoming and comfortable without being overwrought or stuffy. The rooms are generous and private, and quiet despite the boisterous neighbourhood. The position between three absolutely brilliant restaurants - one immediately downstairs - is an added bonus, and if you enjoy an hour’s walk (which I do), you can walk virtually anywhere in the city from this location. Really a gem of a place.

Friendly and superb location. You can get breakfast from Varun opposite. The room I chose was classic, without balcony and brilliant for being quiet. Pick that if you are a light sleeper, as Istiklal street is naturally humming with noise. They replace water everyday and it's easy to walk to Tophane tram down the line and Funicular. Boutique place that's great for smart travellers.

More regular snacks at reception as these ran out quickly.

The location is great, right next to Istiklal, with metro Sishane station meters away, you can also walk down to Galata bridge and there is a Tram 1 that will take you to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. I really liked how smooth the check in process was and how friendly the staff was throughout my stay. They emphasise that they care about your comfort and you can really feel it in every detail (portable wifi is available on demand, every possible room amenity is available as well). The room itself was spacious and clean, with comfortable bed. Despite the hotel being tucked away on a side street from busy Istiklal, I didn't really hear any noise from the street, so slept very well. The only little downside is that the hotel does not provide breakfast, but I walked out every morning and tried different cafes around the area, so was no real big deal for me. All in all, I will definitely stay at the hotel again for my future trips of Istanbul.

Stayed at the story hotel for a week and loved every minute . The staff are so helpful they can’t do enough for you . The advice they gave us for our days out exploring was amazing . We could not have done so successfully without their advice and help. We were given a travel card on arrival to use on the tram, ferry , buses etc. our room was cleaned daily unless otherwise specified and it was immaculate so thank you to the cleaning team always so friendly . A special thanks goes to Ufuk,Furkan,James and especially Mustafa (MK) and Ihsan. All of whom made our stay a breeze . We hope to see you in the UK sometime .

During my recent stay at Hotel Pera, I was thoroughly impressed by several aspects that made my visit memorable. Firstly, the hotel's location is unbeatable. Nestled in a vibrant neighborhood, it provided easy access to numerous attractions and dining spots, allowing me to explore the city effortlessly. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service delivered by the hotel staff. They were not only friendly and approachable but also incredibly helpful. From arranging taxis to recommending fantastic local restaurants, their assistance was invaluable and enhanced my overall experience. Admittedly, due to its central location, the hotel can be noisy at times. Yet, surprisingly, this did not disturb me as much as I had anticipated. The positives of the location and the attentive service far outweighed any minor inconvenience caused by noise. In conclusion, Hotel Pera exceeded my expectations in terms of location, comfort, and especially service. The combination of its prime location, comfortable amenities, and the outstanding hospitality of the staff makes it a place I would gladly stay at again. I look forward to returning to Hotel Pera for my next visit, confident that it will continue to provide an excellent experience.

Can be very noisy on the weekends.

I recently stayed at Story Hotel Pera with my mother, and we were absolutely delighted with our experience. The location is simply fantastic – just a 10-15 minute walk to Galata Port and around 10 minutes to the nearest tram station Tophane Tram 1, making it incredibly convenient to get around Istanbul using public transport. The hotel is situated on a side street just off one of the main shopping avenues, with stores like Zara nearby. The iconic Galata Tower is also just a 10-minute walk away, which was a big plus. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly safe and welcomed. The reception staff was warm, professional, and available 24/7. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience, providing us with restaurant recommendations, tips, and everything we needed to explore the city comfortably. We also arranged an airport taxi through Booking.com, which worked flawlessly. Communication with the hotel was smooth and efficient throughout. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after long days of sightseeing. We stayed for six days, and the time flew by. A special thanks goes to Furkan at reception, who stood out for his kindness, professionalism, and excellent service. He was always available to assist us and truly made our stay extra special.Also the the other kind collegues at the reception whose names I forgot to ask. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul. The price-to-value ratio is excellent, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. I would gladly stay here again if I return to Istanbul and will recommend Story Hotel Pera to all my friends. Thank you to the entire team for making our trip so memorable!

Wow. I think this was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff were extremely helpful. We were welcomed at the reception, our room got upgraded for our first visit in Istanbul (which I know happens but still it was a nice touch). The two guys at the reception were amazing and gave us loads of tips on where to go and what to do. There was free coffee and tea at the reception and some biscuits. The room was big and had air conditioning. The shower pressure was amazing. There was a fridge and a mini bar (with clear pricing on it).

I guess the bed could be a bit more comfortable? We didn't really get a nice view but I assume for more expensive rooms you can. The street can get quite noisy at night but that's the price you pay for staying in the city (and they give you ear plugs). I guess having a smart TV would be helpful too but we were so tired after a long day we barely used the tv at all.
