The room was spacious, the facilities were lovely and 9/10 staff were kind, friendly and went above and beyond.

I have a blue badge but the disabled parking was often occupied by non blue badges, so I had to park at the bottom and walk up over the 3 days. I extended my stay by an extra day and it was over a £100. I have NEVER paid that much to extend a stay by a day before. In addition I booked a family room and my booking indicated two children under 10, why only supply it with tea and coffee? I asked around and managed to get some hot chocolate but that always puzzles me because it’s a family room, should accommodate for all in the family. The TV never worked, I do not know if you are suppose to pay for it but it did not work .

absolutely everything from start to finish, the staff couldn’t do enough for us, Alex at the pool/gym went out of his way to make our youngest sons day special (it was his birthday while we were there) the housekeeping staff brought extra pillows as I have had surgery and needed to sleep more upright, the catering staff brought up a lovely breakfast selection because I wasn’t well enough to go down to eat the second morning, all hugely appreciated and not requested - just gestures and their own thoughtfulness. The management team should be incredibly proud of their staff it wasn’t just one or two of them it was every single one of them we came across. Carlton ok the housekeeping team made best friends with our youngest and was an absolute pleasure to meet too. the reception team were incredibly helpful on arrival and departure - food was brilliant too we loved breakfasts there and we won’t hesitate to go back there - and to any other holiday inn - outstanding and please do pass on our highest appreciation to them

My wife and I have stayed in The Holiday Inn on many occasions over the years when visiting our daughter and family in Mirfield from Northern Ireland. Once again we were received by friendly, professional staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful. We were allocated a very comfortable room on the ground floor. There were two large double beds but still the room was spacious. The en-suite shower room was adequate and we had a plentiful supply of towels. We had a meal in the hotel in the evenings and availed of room service too. All the food was first class and the service friendly and efficient. look forward to our next visit.

The TV handset didn’t work very well - battery problem I assume. Not really a complaint but just a comment.

The staff are outstanding. Greeting you in the corridors as they go about their work. Reception guy on Sunday 23rd April morning was superb. Asking for feedback personally and probing as to where things could be better. This really showed ownership and that he cared. I was very impressed. Please let his manager know this. We checked out at 12 noon on Sunday 23rd April. The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room temperature was just right. It was also very quiet so your signage is working as last time I stayed it was a little noisy but that was pre-pandemic.

Hallways looking a bit tired, eg carpets, paintwork. From memory the breakfast was £18 and would have preferred a cheaper option with just fruit, yoghurt and a hot drink. We bought those outside the hotel which was a shame. We were also short on time though to get to a wedding too. I had checked in online and mentioned this but had to fill paperwork in at reception too. Wasn’t sure how this speeded things up and maybe they could have explained if I hadn’t completed process online correctly.

Very clear, good scenery and easy to access

The beds are very uncomfortable I was 37 weeks pregnant when I stayed and I couldn't move in the morning I felt like I'd slept on a piece of wood, my mum also said the same thing about her bed. Also on the Sunday we went down to the pool as the kids wanted a quick hour before we left for home and some man from the gym said they were not allowed in and that we had to book a slot from 9 o'clock onwards (we wasn't told about having to book slots) on the day before the kids went in 3 or 4 times at different times and we was never told anything. Also this man said that the children were not allowed in on their own even though we was sat on the loungers at the side. The kids had literally just got in the pool and he told them to get out

We liked the spacious family room, the clean and modern bathroom, and the bar area which also had a small section of toys and games for children (much appreciated by my two). The pool was nice but quite busy when we went in due to swimming lessons.

The hairdryer in the room kept cutting out. Allergen information at breakfast could have been improved (I would expect an allergen folder for an organisation like Holiday Inn, and some information wasn't available). However staff were as helpful as they could be with the information they had and brought out some alternatives for my daughter, which was very kind.

I loved breakfast, the staff were always friendly and ensured that we were always okay, Alistar checked us in and was lovely. The location was great and had loads of space for parking, the rooms were clean, and overall just great value for money. I would recommend and would stay here again.

Not all drinks were kept topped up, so had to ask staff to top this up, and saw other people struggling to get the drink out of the drop and having to tip this to get some drink.

At breakfast time Paul the chef delivered two soft boiled eggs at my request to our table because of my bad knee , depending on what time you came down for breakfast half of food was taken had to wait for more croissants to be done , people were taking cups from your table for drinks from the tables as told there was cups on the table

Our whole stay in this hotel was excellent from the courteousness of the staff up to their clean place and facility. Hoping to book here again soon.

Nothing really concerning but on one occasion on our last day. We headed to the breakfast area and we were the last to have breakfast. That last day of our stay had a fire alarm triggered while we are getting ready. It was nearly 10 am and the staff started closing the buffet breakfast. The staff was nice though when I ask if they are preparing to tidy up and told me yes so I requested if I can get my cooked breakfast before he closes down. It just felt like we had to rush and finish off our breakfast that day.

Staff made the stay for me. Reception genrleman explained all facilities, and encouraged me to take advantage the pool and sauna before dinner. Normally id go into local town, but as all staff welcoming and friendly stayed in hotel for the evening. Been travelling a lot recently and enjoyed the contrast. Thank you from reception, through restaurant to housekeeping for relaxed stay
