Staff were chatty great location and lovely decking area. Room was clean and we had a good night's sleep, showers good plenty of towels. Asked for a hairdryer it was brought immediately. The breakfast was included in a very reasonable price for a night's accommodation. Plenty of choice we opted for a full english which was very good, served with tea and toast, also asked if we wanted a latte or cappuccino 👍🏼☕ Would definitely go back and soon. No idea why this place has been given bad reviews in the past. We both would recommend.

Bit of fuss on the bed with cushions and a bed throw on the bottom. A bit quiet more customers would add to the atmosphere.

The reviews. On here are not right we loved it ues rooms are a bit dated but they are trying they best to decorate and we stayed in a twin room with our dog shower was perfect room was clean and it was nice and warm

Would have liked hotter water & heating, brighter ceiling light bulb, bedside table and lamp both sides and also a plug socket, mirror over dressing table and a sink that held the water without soaking you when tap turned on full. Would have found a guest soap on sink more useful than sachets of shower gel & shampoo. Also a toilet roll holder at side of toilet would have been appreciated for ease. Didn’t like broken lamp by bed so close to face or hangers/shoe rack next to bed. Lots of mirrors but in wrong places and none full-length. Better fire evacuation info required - where is nearest exit from room? Where is assembly point? Better info provided regarding breakfast options in advance and where to go. Cooked breakfast could be improved - bacon too well done, unusually small portions.

The triple bedroom we stayed in was clean and airy. , There were tea and coffee facility's new stainless steel kettle Nice shower was newly refurbished. The Hotel is one of the oldest in Alnmouth and is being refurbished by the present owner. The location is superb for walks and the beach. We did not eat there so can not comment on catering. But the staff are so friendly and helpful {Sam and Martin} When our bus did not come Martin dropped us off at the train station we were so grateful.

For the price nothing. You could nit pick if paying 5 star prices but your not.

Nice layout with large bathroom suite, comfortable and quite location. The host was very attentive and obliging, a good selection of meals were on offer. We travel the UK extensively and fully intend to return to Alnmouth as it was lovely and so central for the rest of the Northumbria cost.

unfortunately we found parking was a big issue finding a space is a nightmare however Alnmouth is a small very old Northumbria village totally unspoilt and well worth the minor inconvenience.

Host was friendly and helpful. The bed had fresh clean sheets on it and was comfortable. The en suite and was modern and the shower was nice and hot. Room was warm. Slept sound as it was quiet.

I've never had chicken nuggets for breakfast before 😆 so that was different. Could of been better but filled me up. A bit of fruit or cereal would of been a nice option.

The Schooner Hotel is a unique and historic 17th century coaching inn . Just a little walk to Alnmouth beach . The staff at the hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful when we needed it. Will definitely stay at The Schooner Hotel again a beautiful weekend break .

Lovely staff, good food and a lovely location. Room was simple but had everything we needed and had a lovely view.

Bed was a little hard and the shower overflowed the tray and the shower controls did not match what the markings said. The shower was also very hot with very minimal control on the temperature.

The location is amazing being just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. My room was clean and cosy great shower comfy bed with lovely bed covers could do with a hairdryer in the room but overall very satisfied. Breakfast was very tasty.

A hairdryer in the room would be helpful
