Room was very comfortable. Lyndon the owner couldn't do enough and always at hand to help out, nothing was ever to much. The breakfast was lovely. The guest house was very quiet and you never get disturbed.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Gail’s Guest house and we had a great time. The location to Barry is perfect, it was close enough so we could walk in daily but not too close where we could hear the attractions from our room. Breakfast is fantastic and very well cooked. Staff are fantastic too and cannot do enough to help. We had to text Lyndon a few times and he replied very quickly and very helpful. The room itself is very well equipped and a good size. Bed was extremely comfortable and the large wardrobe was great to see. There was a little bit of mould around the shower seal but this didn’t bother us and the air vent cover kept falling off the wall but again this didn’t bother us. Parking just to the side of the building on a quiet road which was fantastic. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return / recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Barry.

Friendly run b&b, with comfortable beds and delicious, well cooked breakfast - the toast was exceptional 😉 Easy walk to the seafront and Barry Island amusements and only 5 mins to the train station for our journey into Cardiff

The breakfast was excellent and cooked fresh when I arrived. The cook was very accommodating and waited for me to arrive after finishing my triathlon race before cooking. This was close to the end of the 30min slot which I had noted this on the breakfast order the night before and the staff were great about this thankyou/

As I was in the room at the top of the house the beams were low in place. I recommend turning the main bed round 90 degrees which might make it easier to walk round the room. I did hit my head a couple of times , changing the position of the bed might avoid this.

The room was spotless, everything was provided - down to little shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Kettle and tea/ coffee facilities in the room which also had an ironing board, iron and hairdryer. A lovely large smart TV - perfect ! Lovely choice for breakfast which was cooked perfectly. Communication was excellent, and instructions very clear.

Would have liked a cafetière of coffee with breakfast instead of sachets of coffee but appreciate this is a personal choice. The tea pot could have done with a run through the dishwasher to get rid of the staining and tacky feel. These were minor issues and didn’t affect our stay and we didn’t mention them as they were insignificant .

The breakfast was prepared exactly how you wanted it. The property was quiet and in a great location. Lucy and Clifford used good messaging (for example, on the slip of paper accompanying the room key) and were not intrusive hosts.

I wonder whether the hosts ought to think about sustainability a little more in the bathroom accompaniments — perhaps by switching the hand soap to one that can be refilled, and by providing a washable/reusable glass next to the sink rather than plastic cups.

We like quaint hotels and such and this was right up our alley. Lyndon was wonderful and put a personal touch to morning breakfast with lots of conversation. The bed was super comfortable, there was a large TV in the room and we had a private bath. There was no curfew so we could stay out late. We were also welcome to use the kitchen as needed. Parking in front was not allowed but there was plenty available behind the building.

The staff was lovely and the breakfast was very good. They had left a card and bottle of fizz for my partners birthday which was a lovely touch. The inside and rooms are very nice.

The bed was soooo soft that it was like sleeping on a leaking air bed. I hardly slept. From the outside it looks very run down. Rusty furniture and a roller shutter half down. I think with a few small changes the place could be amazing.

The room was nice for the price. The breakfast was lovely, with a good choice of items. We asked for more toast and this was not a problem. Good location, not far to the town centre and the taxi was cheap enough. We enjoyed our stay.

The lighting in the room was very poor, the lampshade was hanging off. The bathroom needed a new bulb. There was a rip in the curtains. The wardrobe needs replacing. These silly little things make a difference.

Room and bathroom were very clean. Shower cubicle good size and hot. Facilities; fridge, fan, hairdryer, tea/coffee, tv all good. Bed was comfy and breakfast lovely. Staff very friendly.

Would have been useful to know more about the parking arrangements and whether a visitor permit was available ahead of stay. Was in loft room so ceilings were pitched and a head hazard, but appreciate not a lot can be done about that.
