we had an amazing stay for our first wedding anniversary. This country pub was exactly what we were after, it was in a perfect location, great interior, lots of space but still cosy. our room was a good size, very clean with some very kind touches - beer and biscuits. we were in a dog friendly room, zero issues with anything and there was a lovely little care package for our pooch. We had a fantastic meal, everything we ate was good, great service and a great selection of drinks. we ate elsewhere on our second night but wished we hadn't! breakfast each morning was very good, nice selection of hot food and also cereals etc to help yourself to. everyone we encountered (staff and guests) were friendly and chatty. we can't wait to come back again.

nothing! keep doing what you're doing!

Everyone went above board to make an enjoyable stay. And the breakfast was excellent with very attentive staff. The location was good as there are alot of woods and heathland to walks and the main market towns were all within 1/2 hour drive.

We booked a hotel that allowed dogs, but the hotel rooms were not very clear as to which rooms were dog oriented to the point that you have to call them to check, this could be sorted out easily by a simple drop down choice of dog friendly rooms and non dog friendly rooms. Because the hotel has the same names for both types of standard (dog/non).

The hotel room was more than we expected , the bed was super comfy, and the whole experience was more than amazing. It was mine and my partners 9 year anniversary and we had brought our dog along and when we got to the room and saw the lil dogy hamper with bowels , towels, tennis ball, dog boscuit ans shampoo for him it made it that more for us. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional, and we couldn't have wished for anything more !! We were over the moon with the hotel and would 1000% reccomed to anyone staying, especially with dogs.

Nothing at all everything was spot on !!

We very much liked the location, the room and facilities. We particularly loved the welcome for dogs and the tolerance of the staff towards dogs and the dog biscuits provided. A big thank you on their behalf! We also booked our evening meal for six people. The restaurant and staff were lovely, (Will was particularly helpful and accommodating ) and our table at the restaurant was excellent. Absolutely no complaints about the staff who were all lovely. The coffees were excellent too.

Our only criticisms would be that we had saved our appetites for this evening meal and unfortunately some of us found our portion sizes too small. (The pumpkin ravioli special was far too small for a main and the venison too, although cooked really well, would have been much better if served with some fresh vegetables or potatoes etc) Sadly, some of us were still hungry after our meal, which is a real shame. Personally, I didn’t like how the menu prices were printed in much fainter print, which I assume is a ploy to get the reader to pay less attention to the cost. This really is unnecessary and in my opinion gives the impression of the establishment being a little underhand.

From the arrival was greeted at the front desk and made very welcome. We stayed in a room around the back number 17 and it was very homely. Warm. You just felt like you was in the countryside right away. Everything you needed in the room. Very well thought out. Breakfast in the morning was very good and Included with a wide option of dishes to have plus a continental breakfast aswell. Again staff were very friendly. Lovely garden and outdoor seating area surrounded by the beautiful forest. Would definitely recommend.

The only issue was the room was slightly cold. But that's being very picky. More for my gf than me but she's always cold. Even then the heaters provided soon warmed the room up and made it very toasty.

The location was amazing. The restaurant and the bar and lounge areas were very welcoming and had a lovely atmosphere.

Our room was an attic room quite cramped but we expected that. There were lots of scrapes and marks on the walls needed freshening up. Bedside lamp was very dusty and skirting boards. As it was a small room these details were more noticeable. Radiator wasn’t working & there was a heater, which warmed the room up. Also a large Dyson fan. These items took up a lot of room in an already cramped space. The corridors leading up to our room were grubby with dead flies on window sill and caroets which needed a good Hoover.

I booked a very spontaneous 1 night stay for both my partner and I at The White Buck in Burley. Upon arrival, straight away we were very impressed with the ample parking spaces. When we entered the building we were greeted by the friendly receptionist named Sherrie. We explained how we had arrived early so we were going to have a few drinks before collecting the key to our room. Sherrie explained that during our stay the hotel was holding an event which was ‘Game Meat Evening’ a 3-course meal, included in this was a free complimentary bottle of wine. Live music was also playing on this night. Sherrie helpfully printed out the menu for us so that we could decide later whether or not we would like to eat in the restaurant. My partner and I sat down and had a few drinks together by the cosy fireplace. We walked into Burley (20 minute walk) taking in the scenery and looked around all the unique shops. Arrived back at the hotel to grab the key to our room. Sherrie had told us that we had been upgraded from the comfy room to the indulgence room. (Happy days) and very indulgent it was! I was so excited there was a beautiful roll top bath! Great amount of tea and coffee facilities. Comfy large bed - with decent pillows. We did decide to dine in during our stay, I’m so glad that we did because the 3-course meal we both chose from was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere with the live music playing. Friendly and helpful staff. The following morning - continental breakfast & a menu that you can chose from. I cannot recommend The White Buck highly enough! I definitely wish to stay here again! What an enjoyable and pleasant experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rooms were lovely, well decorated and stylish. Each had a fan heater and Dyson air cooler, but we arrived during an unseasonal cold snap, so staff arranged for central heating to go on. All dinner food was good quality and we had a nice wine, which they saved for us for day 2. Good choice on breakfast menu, pastries were fresh. Non dairy milk was supplied on request. Staff were all very polite, friendly and accommodating.

Bedding could have been better quality, pillows and mattress not very comfortable. Only white bread available on day 2 - due to lack of delivery so not their fault.

For a large establishment the whole experience was brilliant - we didn't want to leave! The staff were very efficient, friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and well presented with a coffee machine and little treats like pillow spray, chocolates, biscuits etc the toiletries were full size and bath robes/slippers were provided too. I think they had thought of everything- there's even a Dyson fan in your room if it gets a bit too warm, and iron with ironing board. We didn't take our dogs, but it looks like they are made very welcome, as they have their own little menu! Seating inside and out was plentiful and the food was excellent. It's not your average pub grub, so obviously the prices are a bit higher but we liked everything we ordered. Breakfast was equally excellent, there was a large selection of pastries, fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereals along with a hot food menu all included in the room price. We would have stayed an extra night if they'd have our rooms free but they were booked. Will definitely return!

Beautiful location, lovely building, fabulous room ( we were surprised with upgrade) with everything you could possibly want. I didn’t bring my dog but if I had the facilities there for a doggy holiday are outstanding.

The only thing that I would say that’s a bit negative is that during our stay I did have to go on a search for staff members a few times as they don’t seem to have someone front of house who is visible at all times. Also our breakfast experience was a little disappointing the fruit and pastries on the continental table were empty and were not topped up and unfortunately our full English arrived cold with overcooked poached eggs. They did kindly replace our breakfast but it was not particularly good even then, it was quite tasteless as the ingredients were not very good quality,I left most of mine.
