Very good breakfast and very good service. I ordered simply scrambled egg, bacon and toast and was provided just that without any problem although the menu did not offer that simple choice. The room and en-suite facilities were very comfortable. Ample parking. Good location for visiting the New Forest and other attractions in the counties. A good selection of bitter ales. Keep it up. Good info on allergies although we do not suffer. Vegans well accomodated.

It`s not so much didn`t like but we thought the menus for meals were a bit too fancy. I would love to see plainer fare such as fish, potatoes ( chips or mash) and a green veg, shepherds pie and a veg, gammon steak with egg, potatoes ( chips, mash or new) and peas, local sausages, mash and a veg. That sort of choice. We tried other establishments in Lyndhurst and found what we like although I enjoyed your beef and ale pie . This not a criticism but more an observation and understanding. The external fabric of the original pub is n need of TLC. I fully expect you have this in tow as a future project

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The spacious, immaculate room had all the essentials—water, coffee, teas, and delightful biscuits. Despite being above a pub, the room is surprisingly tranquil, adorned with meticulous attention to detail and a top-notch bed. The pub’s impressive, homemade cuisine, along with expertly cooked breakfast, added to the experience. Verity’s attentive, 5-star service ensured that every detail, including my dogs’ stay, was exceptional. The surrounding area is ideal for relaxation and long walks, making it a perfect retreat. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.

The location was incredible. In the middle of the New Forest with ponies right out the front door! The food was good quality and the breakfast was really tasty.

The room was small, as was the bed and far too hot. Unable to sleep due to the heat and even with the fan on, it didn’t not touch the sides (so to speak). Air conditioning is required, or to change the doors to ‘stable type’ doors or with a window to let a breeze come through the room. May not be a problem in the winter or not on a hot day.

The rooms were clean and decorated to a high standard. Modern and fresh. We stayed in Room 1 - Anderwood, which was described as a cosy room. It was cosy as it was quite small but still had space to move around. The bed was comfortable with nice linen and pillows. Bathroom with a good powerful shower too. The actual inn itself is beautiful inside - well maintained and traditional. We loved it!

Our room was on the side of the property and we were directly above the kitchen so we could hear the team cleaning with the windows open. This didn’t bother us but may be something others wouldn’t like.

We loved the location and the comfortable bedroom. The staff were very pleasant . It is a very cosy inn. The breakfast is excellent and the food in general is good. Its' great that you can take your dog too.

Although our bedroom was lovely we found it very hot and we had to keep standing at the open door as we couldn't sleep . The weather was unusually warm too which didn't help ! There is no shelf in the shower to put soaps etc and the steep stairs to our room were difficult especially for someone with a disability. However this is all minor . This is a lovely place to stay.

Lovely modern room, exceptionally clean! It’s very cosy and cute. The staff were very friendly. Dog friendly which was very important to me! They even left a treat in the room for her which was a lovely touch. There were ponies, foals, cows & calfs right outside which was lovely. Great location too.

It was a bit noisy throughout the evening because our room was above the kitchen, but this quietened down by 10:30 so not a major problem.

Friendly and very helpful staff, one lad from the kitchen helped me with my bags up the steep stairs to our room on arrival which was much appreciated. The room was excellent with nice touches and the breakfast was first class. Rob and his team are so professional but still personable.

The only thing if we have to put something - Our room was situated above the dish wash area in the hotel so was a bit noisy late evening but that was really it - nothing else wrong

It is a stunning, well maintained and authentic place located in a beautiful village. Very friendly staff. We actually booked all 4 rooms but they had some problems with pipes and 2 rooms were unavailable. I really like how they solved the problem. We also had dinner and breakfast in this pub and the quality of food was excellent.

The only reason I took 2 stars off was a creaking door and my bed in a twin bedroom. This bed didn't let me sleep at all.

It would be good if there was some fresh fruit for breakfast and natural yoghurt. But very tasty choice of breakfast especially the Eggs Benedict . Cycle racks to the back of the Inn would've been great especially for overnight stays.

The breakfast options were plentiful and the food was excellent. There were local beers on tap. The menu is a gastro pub menu and the food was outstanding. Just be aware that the rooms are above a pub, so you will hear the “locals” enjoying a pint! It was, however, quiet by 11:00 or earlier. Manager, Rob, was most accommodating as were Hannah, Alicia, Verity and Kyle. We also enjoyed chatting with the housekeeper, Violette. The New Forest Inn was located near trail heads into the New Forest. Downtown Lyndhurst is a one mile walk and has many shops, food establishments and The New Forest Heritage Museum.
