We were visiting for the racing at Donington so the location was absolutely ideal as the track is just a short walk away. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building. We ate breakfast there on both mornings and it was beautifully cooked. We stayed in converted stables adjacent to the hotel and I can honestly say it was outstanding. You went up a flight of stairs to your room. It had the feel of an apartment as there was a small corridor connecting the bathroom and bedroom and dual aspect views from the bedroom/sitting area. It was so spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfortable.

Stayed here for a wedding. Stayed the night before and the night of and it was just lovely! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. It’s such a gorgeous countryside hotel and the food is amazing! Our room was so lovely with wooden beams on the roof just further adding to the rustic barn look.

Our room was located in one of the outbuildings and the only way we could access it was up a steel spiral staircase (like a fire escape stairs). Wasn’t too much of an issue but was a bit nervy getting up and down.

Hotel was really clean with beautifully decorated rooms. Beds were comfortable and rooms had everything you needed for an overnight stay.

We didn’t read that the property is on the direct flight path to East Midlands airport and aircraft noise is quite loud at times. The shower in our room was very weak.

Lovely and interesting location. Great countryside view from our room. Feeling of space in the room, the rest of the hotel and the grounds. Lovely staff and a great feel to the place.

The only downside (and it is obvious from the location at time of booking) is that the hotel is under the flight path of the airport so there is jet noise. There is also noise from the racetrack and the road outside, but all these are to be expected.

Nice location but not told until we were an hour from destination that there was a planned service of Aga , meaning no dinner available on the day of our stay . Wouldn’t have booked if we had known !!!!

Toilet not attached to floor fundamental ! Small thing but important …..no brandy glasses …..brandy served in a cast glass garage freebie quality glass .

Location good, bedrooms great with comfy beds, staff very friendly, and there is a table in the bar area that looks out over the hills which was great for an evening beer. Wifi good. There are two EV (Tesla) chargers on site.

Under the East Midlands flight path but actually not a massive issue.

Extremely helpful staff. Loved the fact that you can adjust your room temperature. Didn't know how to and the staff explained everything. Then instead of pressing the button on the radiator valve, I kept pressing on the card which described how to adjust! LOL. After an early start and a long day working, I was definitely exhausted. Room lived up to expectations and had a great night's sleep. Staff catered for my early start and the chef cooked breakfast for me even before the kitchen formally opened for breakfast. In my rush, I forgot to collect my bill and on telephoning, the staff kindly emailed it to me within an hour.

The shower was just luke warm, but I was in too much of a rush to speak to anyone. Staff were extremely helpful at check out when I told them about it.

A very nice heritage hotel with beautiful scenery around. Staffs are very friendly and showed us around the wedding venue. Breakfast was nice! Most important of all, my dog was welcomed!

My room was located on the other side of hotel away from the main building. It is spacious, with extra bed , but the room itself is not well maintained, especially the carpet and the wardrobe. The bathroom is tiny and the shower is not hot enough. I dropped by my friends' rooms in the main building, which are both clean and spacious. We were charged the same price, but the rooms are so much in difference, probably because I had my tiny dog with me.

I've stayed here before several times and always really pleased to stay here. Friendly and helpful team, lovely pie of the day in the evening in the restaurant and a very nice, warm and comfortable room!

The breakfast was described as awesome so I paid for it . We ordered poached eggs on toast , we receive two over cooked eggs on wet toast , the toast was just a normal sliced loaf , nothing special at all and not even buttered . Worst breakfast I’ve ever had .
