Derby Conference Centre is a historic building, art deco, so some aspects are not like a modern building. But I find it charming and quirky. I stayed 2 nights, bedroom was small, but had everything I needed - comfy bed with very nice fresh smelling bedding. Draughty original windows, but heating is strong. Good wifi everywhere in the building is perfect, and no additional charge. Lovely welcoming staff, everyone was kind & attentive, and hard-working. I enjoyed the food & drink, especially cooked breakfast buffet, where you get unlimited everything for £9.95. Also had nice lunches & dinners, with generous portion sizes. Short cab ride (£4 Uber) to Derby main station. I think it's a good venue for small-medium conferences, as everyone can mingle in the central atrium and spacious bar/restaurant.

My bedroom was small, but for single occupancy it was adequate.

It had good facilities. There was a TV, WiFi and tea and coffee. Also, an iron and hair dryer but I didn’t use them. The building was interesting - I was expecting a glass and concrete tower. The plaque showing that it started as an army Officers’ Mess was a pleasant surprise.

I stayed for two nights. The room was not cleaned after the first night. I asked Reception when I checked out and the receptionist explained (politely) that I needed to request it as the policy was not to enter rooms without permission - a post covid policy. No lifts. I am not disabled and did not have much luggage but a heavy suitcase would have been a problem.

I was just staying for a night after a football match and couldn't have asked for much more. The hotel itself is about a 15-minute walk from Pride Park Stadium, and on the way back there were plenty of people about so it was a safe experience despite it being late at night. My room was small but certainly plenty big enough for my needs. A comfortable bed, clean, nice modern decoration, a spacious bathroom, parking on site, a friendly and welcoming reception area with polite and helpful staff, plenty of tea and coffee (plus biscuits!) in my room, and even after I checked out I realised I'd left something in my room so I was able to get the key again just to nip up and get it. There was a bit of background noise about while I was in my room but no more than other hotels I've stayed at, and certainly no more than you'd expect given the proximity to busy-ish roads. I use earplugs anyway and they did the job for me. I will certainly stay here again.

I think the only real criticism I'd give is that the windows in my room weren't double-glazed, and neither did they seem to be particularly modern. This would have helped more with deadening that background noise, and also I could feel a bit of cold air near the frames. This didn't translate into a cold room though, despite it being freezing outside overnight, but as a tip to anyone staying do make sure that your windows are closed as tightly as you can get them.

We are returning guests and appreciate the location and the quirky nature of the property. The rooms are on the small side, which is to be expected due to the history of the building but always comfortable and clean

Bedside "shelves" were not at all useful and we felt a small bedside unit would have been better We only had one set of towels on arrival and we had trouble locating a member of staff (no one at reception or answering calls - we had to call the main hotel number before we got hold of anyone) although extra towels were delivered promptly once we got hold of someone

Have stayed at the Derby Conference Centre, several times before and it has suited our needs perfectly. The rooms are purposeful and well equipped, with hairdryer, iron and good tea making condiments. The bathroom is well lit and spacious, for the main part of the room. Good restaurant facility, serving a wide choice of meals and breakfast.

The shower unit is a bit on the smaller side, ok for me, but might be a bit of a challenge if you are of a larger stature. The lighting in the main room is only one main ceiling light, with a couple of reading lamps, so a bit dim, but ok generally.

Very quiet room even though it was on the ground floor right by the entrance. There was a wedding going on further down but couldn't hear it at all in our room. Bed comfy, pillows great!! USB ports in plug sockets which was great because I left my phone charger plug at home! Overall I would definitely stay here again.

Shower was tiny and a bit old fashioned, room very very small although it did the job for one night so wasn't an issue. No restaurant or bar facilities available due to wedding, would have been nice to maybe have a small discount to account for this, although I was notified in advance and room service was available.

STAFF AMAZING 👏👏👏👏👏 LOCATION SPOT ON 👏👏👏👏👏👏 ROOM MEDIOCRE NOT A FULL DOUBLE BED AND VERY SMALL BUT DID THE JOB FOR THE REST I NEEDED 🙏👏👏👏 CURTAINS SUB-STANDARD - don’t expect a blackout room 👏👏 Location is key to where I can meet other work colleagues! Whilst there IS DISABLED PARKING this was taken up by cars that didn’t have a blue badge and a work van with windows open no badge and thus I was prevented from being able to park as near as I can comfortably walk however this was due to OTHER RESIDENTS and not the staff, perhaps a check now and then for badges would be good?

Curtains didn’t Block the light and were very short in comparison to the window so no cover for light spilling. The track seemed off kilter. The bed isn’t a standard double it’s smaller and the room left little each side to walk easily, hard for a disabled person, - shower room attached was Very clean, great pressure, good room but not suitable for a wheelchair resident (in my opinion)

Staff were wonderful, the facility is a conference center as well as a hotel and, as im sure is the same with most places, it isnt all that busy on the hotel side so they do have to share staff between things like the restaurant, bar and reception but they managed it great. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy and I even booked an extra night, at a cheap price through an online site and was able to stay in the room that I was already in, which was brilliantly convenient. Food is good, particularly breakfast, and the chef is lovely, very accommodating to my hangover needs! Good value for money, good location, and beautiful grounds, especially in the Summer. Next time im in Derby, I will stay again.

I did need a couple of extras while I was here like toothpaste, as I stayed a little longer than expected, which they didnt have, but there is a shop across the road so no huge deal.

Everything we needed for the occasion, great room, friendly staff, nice breakfast

Not a huge deal but the bar wasn’t always manned. Not a massive criticism, but maybe it would be good to make it clear to guests staying at the hotel when the bar will be available for service as we thought it was open from 11am. We waited from 11am to 11:45am for a drink on Sunday morning and absolutely nobody was around except for reception staff. We weren’t too bothered about it, and I guess we could’ve walked to the reception area to ask for service, but other guests might be more annoyed about having to chase down service. Perhaps if there was a function going on at the time to explain the absence of service at the bar, a sign at the bar might help guests have clarity on this.

Ample parking on arrival and a lovely welcome on reception. It's an amazing building in the Art Deco style and was used as the Railways training centre. It has a very interesting history. Our twin room didn't have much of a view but was very clean and comfortable. There is plenty of storage space, too. The bathroom was extraordinarily big to say it only had a very small shower, a toilet, and sink. We assume it used to have a bath as you could have fit a child's bed in the extra space and still get to the amenities!! We didn't get housekeeping during our 3 night stay, but anything we needed reception would sort. In our case, the house ladies were very kind and accommodated us with any extra towels and an empty bin. Breakfast was self-service, well cooked, and hot. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay for us whilst visiting National Trust properties in Derby.
