A very nice room with good facilities and a comfy bed. Very nice staff, attentive and helpful, great food and drink, the steak and mushroom pie was superb and they have a fine selection of real ales brewed at the inhouse brewery - all food and drink at very reasonable prices. A very good full english breakfast in the morning.

Just be aware that on a Friday and Saturday the bar is open until midnight, and the pub doesnt close until about 1am. I'd had a long work day and a long drive, and also decided to have some of their delicious ice-cream, unfortunately not leaving much room for more of their fine ales, thus deciding to try for an early night!. Any other time and the late bar, would definitely have been something I would have taken advantage of.

A lovely character pub in the heart of Clun serving good pub food, which we enjoyed. The family room (offered on arrival as had booked deluxe double) was very comfortable and had everything my daughter and I needed for our one night stay. Friendly and helpful staff. A good choice for breakfast, which again we really enjoyed.

One minor gripe at breakfast, tea in a pot would have been better as the jug flask with hot water had previously been used for coffee so the tea had a slight taste of coffee, which wasn’t good.

Very warm welcome. Staff were very friendly. Lovely lady at breakfast served us. Very good breakfast. Double bed so comfortable. Plenty of free parking.

Although the room was clean the room is looking a little tired and could do with a spruce up. Windows, carpet etc. Single bed in room, very uncomfortable mattress. Noticed a lot of white wood work I.e doors, skirting not very clean.... Needs attention here

Great lively country pub right in the heart of this beautiful South Shropshire Village. Lots of local real ales on tap and plenty of choice for 0% alcohol after a long days walking! Had a meal there on Fri night and in spite of it being very busy, in the bar and in the restaurant, our meals were perfectly cooked, all staff very attentive, the owners in particular. Breakfast the same, had everything we needed. Rooms are good, comfortable bed, hot powerful shower and plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits. We will definitely be back.

Another few days!

Decided to add a day to our Snowdonia break with a view of Offa's Dyke in Knighton. Saw this which is about 10 miles north of Knighton and what a gem. Set in beautiful little village an old inn with I think attached brewery. Very reasonably priced ales and high quality menu. All staff and locals very friendly and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast as much as you wanted and freshly cooked. We'll be back - loved it

Nothing at all

The room was as expected - the photographs were accurate. Although facing onto the little square in the centre of Clun, it was quiet. Might be a bit cramped for a long stay but it was great for us as a country pub stopover. It is an independent brewey so the prices on tap are very good, as is the beer! Clun is a very pretty village laden with history and architectural interest. Short walks around the village are easy with parking down by the river. Bell ringing practice is on Thursday evenings 7.30-9pm so if you want to experience a real slice of English rural life and a tradition going back centuries, listen out in the village! We were warmly welcomed in to sit and watch. A real treat.

An excellent country pub in a small Shropshire village of historical interest. Both village and pub are very old. Jack (the landlord) was happy to expand on both. The pub has it's own small brewery and the three cask ales were excellent, as was our evening meal. Our room was small but cozy. The ruins of the ancient Clun castle is a 5 min walk, as is the old stone bridge across the beautiful Clun river. The are many other longer walks in the area. Note: there is no private parking at the property, but parking on the Square outside was no problem. And safe. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Staff were excellent, friendliest people in the world. Genuine and kind folks. Pub was amazing as well with good selection of beers. Loved being able to sit in the pub with a pint without TVs or music blaring, just good lager and the welcome thrum of conversation from other patrons. Food was awesome and very generous portions of tasty scran. Reasonably priced and great location.

The room was quite cold even in spring, suspect due to it being single glazed windows as we felt a draft through them. Worth packing warm socks and a hot water bottle.

Amazing rural pub with fantastic food,lovely staff,nothing too much trouble...lovely little town to just relax with a few other places to drink and eat.However food was amazing...couldn't fault the stay,sooooooo comfortable, we didn't want to move in the morning...highly recommended, has also won the 2024 rural pub award..dint hesitate in booking.

Nothing...lovely place

The breakfast was really good, with an excellent range of different food. The staff were really kind and helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed our short stay at the The White Horse and would recommend it to anyone passing through Clun.

There was a huge spider in his cobweb in the window just above where we had our meal. The interlocking door for guests to enter the pub always seemed to be locked, so we had to walk round and come in the front door.
