November 2024
We called before check-in because my medical conditions have progressed in recent weeks and we were nervous about still being able to manage the trip. We spoke to Eilidh who reassured us regarding parking and accessability within the hotel. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and were a tad hung over the following morning, the breakfast staff are so helpful and friendly. The lady (Karen) that was clearing the tables was singing away, gave us a lovely greeting, and farewell as we left.
The only snag we could think of was the slide door in the bathroom in room 504 doesn't have a buffer to close. My husband got up about 4am and frightened the life out of me. The door closing sounded like a farm crow scarer! Everything else was spot on.

The location is excellent in the city centre, and as a single traveller, I appreciate how safe this hotel feels. It is modern and bright, with a nice and welcoming bar area. The rooms are quiet and it's great they offer free wifi. The bed is very comfortable, the rooms are good size, and the bathroom has everything you need. The staff is always friendly in Dundee and ensures you have everything you need.
Breakfast could be improved with more choices for people who can't or don't want to eat high-carb, high-sugar food. I am a Type 1 diabetic, so my options are pretty limited in this place. Some healthy food that would not make it more challenging to the source would be great, e.g. natural yoghurt, brown bread, fruit (other than a banana), or even just porridge, making it much better for many people. Unfortunately, this hotel is not the best choice for an evening meal either. It would be great if they could improve their offer.

Location Parking Bar area Room clean with modern finishings and large tv with good choice of channels Rooms had a safe Had evening meal at hotel restaurant menu limited but meal very good and decent value for money
Breakfast chaotic Breakfast food and cutlery not replenished to meet demand Food at breakfast cold Domestic staff using same lift as guests and it appeared the lift was being held on floors meaning at times guests having to wait an unacceptable length of time to access. Bed uncomfortable but personal preference.

The location was really handy, staff were friendly and room was a decent size and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and I liked that I had until 12 to check out. There is a gym which I used but the facilities there were fairly basic.
On a previous occasion staying in this hotel on a Saturday night there was a lot of noise from a nearby club (Aura), which disturbed my sleep. This time I checked that the club wasn’t open on that night I was staying (a Sunday) and it was fine. I wouldn’t recommend staying here on nights that club is open due to the noise, unless you’re also planning for a late night out. Also the gym could definitely be better equipped.

Breakfast was great and refilled quickly when depleted. Staff were friendly and courteous at all times, in all areas. No request for tea, coffee, drinks, information was too much for the staff. Rooms were great size and bathroom was wow! Noise from outside was quite minimal. All in all great hotel, great staff, great facilities in a great place. Parking was handy but didnt like it was pay by app.
The bed was hard and pillows too feathery soft with no structure to them. Everyone is different and this would have suited some it just didnt suit any of us in the two rooms. Didnt like having to pay by app for parking - again personal preference. Nothing was wrong at all just personal prefernce for some things which cant ever suit all people all the time. :)

The staff were very helpful.
I parked my car in the Hilton car park. The receptionist told me that the car park should be paid to Britannia. He proceeded in taking my car details and put the payment through. A month later I received a fine from Britannia for £60/£100 for not paying the £10 fee. I tried to appeal as I thought the gentleman on reception had put it through for me but it was not accepted by Britannia. I was very angry at this but did not want to fight in a court room and paid them £100 for an error that was made at the Hilton reception.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and this time the breakfast fell a little short of expectations. The fruit juice was awful - delivered my dispenser and was very watery. However, when I drew this to the attention od the receptionist, she was truly apologetic and said that she would pass the issue on to the catering staff. Room has a superb layout and only criticism is that the duvet is very thin - even for 'what we believe to be' summer. We were there for a specific purpose this time nad the location could not have been better for us.

the location in the middle of Dundee was fantastic, we were within walking distance of most things in Dundee, the room was very good, the breakfast was very good and the staff exceptional, given the situation they faced.
Due to an IT issue, we did not have any room keys to get in or out of our rooms, I felt that the Hilton group let down the hotel and the staff, the staff who were exceptional bringing people up to their rooms and let them in, where always apologetic and in good humour giving the difficult situation they were in.

Perfect location, central for all amenities, staff brilliant from the second you walk through the door so welcoming, nothing to much trouble, very professional, attentive, hotel immaculate, Thank you to all staff, we will be back soon. Each and everyone of you, deserves a pat on the back. I normally don't bother with reviews, but more than happy to provide this one.
Nothing really but if I was to pick one thing which is just personal choice, windows that open in rooms would have been nice. But aircom in rooms so not a big problem.

It was in the right location for what we wanted. Staff were friendly. Cosy atmosphere. Would happily go back. Breakfast was good (waffle maker which made amazing waffles and a selection of sauces) Bathroom was beautiful. Room was super clean
Room card to work the lift (I get it can be for security reasons) I went up to the room while my husband finished his drink and got more to bring to the room and I had to go back out and get him as the lift wouldn't work without a card. TV was awful. Thankfully only there for one night so didn't really bother us to much but remote hardly worked and couldn't get off the guide bit and no smart function.
