Lovely lovely stay, lovely room and evening meal. Would definitely recommend and return.

Difficult to say it’s something we didn’t like but it’s something which struck us. A very young team when we were there, somewhat off-hand but not rude, and we felt they overlooked the importance of the customer by focusing on laughs and chats between themselves, whilst the customer was waiting. When bread had run out at breakfast, it was a fair accompli rather than an apology. That said, we’d still go back, we just thought it was important to highlight.

Charming. Warm. Picturesque.

A little noisy but understandable. Room was a bit small and bathroom was across the landing so not so good value for money. TV only had one channel. We did not complain because we only wanted to watch the news.

Lovely and Quaint. Room was clean and cosy. Breakfast choices were good. The cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection (imo). The lovely young lady (sorry I didn’t get her name)who hosted breakfast over our stay. Was fantastic friendly, accommodating great hospitality skills. Loved the Autumnal decor throughout the downstairs. Nice little stay in a country village.

Our room was right up the very top so quite a few stairs to climb. Was a bit off the beaten track so if not having use of a car. It meant we had to use taxi’s to get to different destinations.

Everything was exceptional. My Dad and I got there, and our first impression was "crikey, we've got to go through that tiny archway" to the carpark. Then when we got inside, we were amazed. My Dad was given a free room upgrade. Sam, showed us to our rooms and we were gobsmacked. The outside of the hotel does not prepare you for the interior of the building, because the decor is stunning. The staff are so friendly. It is a family and friends run business. They can't do enough for you. The food is amazing. Everything cooked fresh to order. The portions are huge, and well worth every penny. This is a little gem in a beautiful sleepy village with a castle on the doorstep.

The room was lovely, the staff were welcoming and the breakfast was plentiful. The location was also beautiful and they had made an extra effort to put a table decoration out for my birthday which was much appreciated.

I was charged for a pie with a pint or glass of wine instead of the just the pie which I ordered. I was not offerred the pint or glass of wine and had already ordered a bottle of wine for the table. I did ask for gravy with my pie which did not come and it made the meal very dry. I should have asked for it again but I did not want to spoil my birthday evening. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold so neither of us could have one which was a shame. We could have made these things known to staff at the time but did not want to spoil our stay.

We have wanted to stay here for a long time and it did not disappoint. We didn't eat at the George because we were visiting family but the reason we chose to stay here was because on a previous visit to the area another landlady recommended it, for food. The staff were all lovely and extremely friendly.

Nothing, there was a note in our room explaining that as it was an extremely old building and a pub with rooms it may get a little noisy especially. This was not a problem when we stayed, it was so quiet, despite the pub being busy.

Lovely old traditional pub with clean and comfortable accommodation. All rooms have WiFi, tv ensuit with toiletries. Tea and coffee facilities and comfortable beds with lovely linen and pillows. Located opposite Nunney castle. Serving great food and drinks in the pub. The bar staff were excellent especially Sam the manager. The food was of high quality and portions were large.

Breakfast service very slow with inexperienced young staff and no manager. This resulted in a 50 minute wait for breakfast which eventually came out half cold half overcooked. The produce was very good but spoilt by chef. The young waitress spent more time in the store room or kitchen than serving customers resulting in some leaving without their breakfasts. Sadly no manager to keep them in check.

The location is amazing, right opposite the castle, and parking behind the hotel was easy. The food, both breakfast and evening meal, was incredible. They have a fantastic chef and would recommend the food. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times.

The room description said it had a shower, potentially handheld, but it was just the shower head and no curtain or ability to stand up and have a shower. This is just a very minor point.

Beautiful location, the building is beautiful and my room was lovely and well thought out, there were make up remover cloths, shower caps, the bath was huge, bed extremely comfortable. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast yummy. In my room I had a lot of choice of hot drinks, various teas, coffees.

The only gripe was I wish there were instructions on how to turn the temperature of the shower down. I was already in the bath and using the handheld shower attachment and no matter how i tried I wanted it a little bit cooler than it was.

There is a good range of accommodation at the George to suit a group on activity holidays. The staff are also able to lock bikes in a shed overnight which is helpful for cyclists.The restaurant served well made and what appeared to be real food at very reasonable prices and there was a good range of beer and wine.

There were no bad points really. I have stayed here a couple of times in the past and always felt that the hotel offered a good value stay.
