The location is great, and so are the views. The free parking is good. The residents' lounge is very comfortable. But most of all, the customer service was second to none!! James looked after us very well, always there for anything we needed, always helpful, friendly, and very professional at the same time. And, to top it all, he makes a proper, stiff Martini!! He made a big difference to our stay.

The room we had the first night wasn't great, the bed was small, not very comfortable, the shower cubicle was very small and didn't have a handheld head which made it awkward to use. We were lucky we were able to upgrade for the next couple of nights and the larger room was very comfortable - 2 beds linked together and a handheld shower over the bathtub which helped especially as the water pressure is very low.

This family owned hotel is in a wonderful spot with panoramic views of the sea and beach. The manager welcomed us and arranged complementary tea and coffee on arrival. Tea was served in a pot with a second pot of boiling water for a top up. The coffee came with a jug of hot milk. Breakfast was very good and well presented. The toast was freshly made and hot! Sunday lunch was delicious. There is a great lounge with lovely views and a good variety of magazines and books to look at.

The pillows could have been softer.

The hotel was lovely, the food good, the manager very helpful and friendly.

The only problem was that we were unable to eat in on our first evening because we discovered when we arrived that we should have booked our evening meal before we arrived - which we could have done if we'd known when we booked! (Please note, booking.com, for future reference!). The receptionist did recommend somewhere else to eat, which was fine, but we would have liked to know about this in advance!

Made very welcome upon arrival, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean with an extremely comfy bed. Fabulous views over the estuary.

The bathroom was a little cramped with the loo behind the door. Shower didn’t work properly and the hotel generally felt like it could do with a bit of a facelift.

Breakfast and dinner were good. The location of the hotel is excellent, plus good parking. Enjoyed the coastal atmosphere of the hotel in its decor etc.

Our bed was smaller than we are used to so we didn't sleep as well as we had hoped. The bathroom shower was adequate, but a little small and we didn't like the step.

The Commodore Hotel is one of the best hotels my wife and I have has the pleasure of staying in. The staff were always charming and helpful; the location 75m from a beautiful beach stunning, and the cooked lunch and breakfast were first class, especially the little touches, such as the hand crafted yoghurt. Refreshment lounge overlooking the beach was lovely, as was the restaurant.

Little picky details, toilet behind bathroom door was sub-optimal, as a person entering the bathroom when someone was on the throne resulted in them having the door in their face: more electrical sockets in to room would be better. Water flow from hot water shower mediocre. But, hey I can live with these things as otherwise the hotel is superb.

We received a very warm welcome, and a cup of tea was provided in the lounge to greet us. Our bag was taken to our room for us. The room was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. All the staff were very attentive, and we loved the location, with beautiful views over the estuary.

Room with an excellent view and balcony which we used in November ! Complimentary refreshment upon arrival - very kind.

Dinner - we prefer to select our own vegetables from side dishes rather than already applied to the plates !

Breakfast and service was excellent , very friendly staff . The location and view from our room was beautiful. We also had two excellent meals in the evening. A big thank you to all the staff.

Everything was perfect .

A superb hotel in a great location, it looks like its straight from the French riviera! The staff were very welcoming along with a complimentary cup of tea on arrival. The rooms are as you would expect from a hotel but very clean and comfortable. We had a room at the back so no view but the rooms at the front would be worth having if you were staying for longer than a couple of nights.

The breakfast was disappointing! The full English was greasy and the muffin hollandaise had too much sauce, wet spinach and wasn't seasoned. Such a shame as the dining room and view from it is fab.
