This newly renovated church ⛪️ done to a very high standard guest house was beautiful. The room, private bathroom, was lovely. The bed is very comfortable. With tea/coffee available. The host was very friendly & informative. There was a good range of freshly cooked breakfast as well as fruit juices tea/coffee and cereals. The host went above and beyond our expectations. It's well worth a stay at this beautiful place with a lot of history surrounding it.
We liked everything about this place.

Definitely a unique and quirky property with the wow factor! Vanessa is a wonderful host, very friendly, helpful, and she offered a great choice for breakfast - cooked to perfection. Vanessa homemade shortbread is best we ever had too! We loved this property and would love to return one day for another visit. The common areas and bedrooms and beautifully decorated and clean - felt like a home away from home. Property had a lovely calm and positive energy.

Stunning building set in a quiet hamlet, Vanessa the host was wonderful, had great knowledge of the local area and nothing was too much trouble. The church has been sympathetically converted and is warm and welcoming with a very tranquil ambience. Rooms are of a good size and the bed was really comfortable. Fresh milk and home made shortbread was available in our room. Breakfast is in the open plan living and dining area and makes for a great informal space for chatting with other guests. Really nice pub with great food about a mile down the road. Extremely cycle friendly, if you are cycle touring I can guarantee you will have a warm welcome!

Beautiful, very quirky B&B in a quiet village just south of Dumfries. Very rarely you get to experience a stay in a refurbished church and most certainly the peacefulness of the place cannot be matched. Accommodation is spotless and has everything you need. WIFI is of excellent quality, which is convenient since the area is not well covered by mobile data. Breakfast was superb. The place is very dog friendly and the rooms are spacious. Vanessa is an amazing, friendly and knowledgeable host, who knows her area very well and can give you great tips.

The Auld Kirk is a beautiful listed building, renovated to a very high standard. A real credit to the owner, Vanessa, who made us feel most welcome and valued. Breakfast was lovely, fresh and hot and set us up for the day. The room was very high quality, beautifully comfortable bed and a walk in shower to die for. Everything was a little bit special which made our 2 nights stay thoroughly enjoyable. We will definitely return. Thank you Vanessa.
Nothing I didn’t like, enclosed parking area was a bonus.

Vanessa and Fergus couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating The level of service and accommodation was better than any other place we have stayed on our tours around Scotland. The exceptional standard of all rooms and communal areas was second to none. The breakfasts were delicious and very substantial. I really enjoyed that all guests ate breakfast around the same table, making us some new friends while we were there. We look forward to a return visit to Vanessa and Fergus very soon. Sarah and Tim.

A great two night break in a interesting and unusual property. An renovated old church in its very own graveyard....... don’t be put off. This place is a gem! Old on the outside but modern and comfortable on the inside. Our friendly and obliging host Vanessa quickly made us feel at home.
Our room was tastefully furnished. Nice bathroom and modern smart TV . Our only gripe was that the original church window was set high on the bedroom wall giving plenty of light but no view.

Wow! What a find! Amazing property in a beautiful part of Scotland within walking distance to a lovely stretch of coastline (and the pub!). Vanessa was an exceptional host, very welcoming and friendly. Lovey breakfast - loads of vegetarian options. Love the history of the building and the area.
Wished we’d stayed more than 1 night!

I stayed the night with my daughter who was getting married in the village hall around the corner the next day. It was a wonderful experience to spend the night with my daughter in such a beautiful place for her last night before becoming a wife. Vanessa was very attentive and went over and above for us, even scrambling up some slippery steps to ring the original church bell as my daughter left to be married, this was such a beautiful thing to do for her. Our vegan breakfast was amazing. The morning of the wedding left the B&B hectic with visitors to make sure the bride and her mother was perfectly ready for the day ahead. I cannot thank you enough for our wonderful stay.
The only thing that could have been better was on our part and that would have been to be more organised and got there earlier so we really could have had a more relaxing evening to spend some extra quality time together.

Beautiful, spacious chapel conversion in very quiet location. Friendly and accommodating hostess. Excellent breakfast. High quality rooms. In a tiny hamlet so you will need to drive to get dinner. Not a problem as the Steamboat Inn on coast a little over a mile away has very good food and drink,
