quietest hotel I have ever been in, suited us perfectly. room almost perfect, the meals were exemplary. car park excellent, staff brilliant.

As I said, almost perfect. our room was cold, cold even for me, which is unusual for me to feel that way. the lack of heating made the room almost feel damp, though it was dry. we did suspect the heating may be switched on, a little later in the year. the only other negative, was the TV had an intermittent fault, which meant it kept losing the signal.

The hotel was in a great location so you could easily walk into Ludlow. The room was a decent size with a bed settee. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were provided. The bed was very comfy ensuring a good nights sleep. Bathroom was spacious with toiletries provided and a shower over the bath. We had a nice view over the allotments. There was a good selection of both hot and cold food at breakfast. We had a meal on the first night and that was excellent. The staff were very friendly and check in and out was very quick and efficiently done. The weather was brilliant when we were there so it was lovely to sit on the terrace with our drinks and enjoy the sunshine.

The only small thing that I would change would be the positioning of the mirror in the bedroom. It was right in front of the wardrobe so if you were drying your hair or applying make up you were in the way of the other person wanting access to the wardrobe or bathroom.

I thought the breakfast was nice .it was on a time slot so they were pretty organised. One of the days I had the cereal breakfast.but I’ve got to say I do like cereal to start with and then more breakfast options. But i so pose one or the other keeps the cost down .

100% the bed the mattress and pillows were not comfortable at all .i was really disappointed in that .maybe a suggestion if the cost of getting new beds would be to much getting good quality mattress toppers would make a mound of difference. We slept really bad on both days . Which is a shame when you look forward to your break .

Generally, everything was exceptionally good. As a coeliac, I have many problems regarding food, and would like to recommend a small toaster for breakfast, that can be kept away from any contamination issues, and easily marked, for when it is needed. The evening meals were lovely. Our room was up two floors, and small, but that was down to late booking! On the whole, I would highly recommend The Cliffe.

As stated above, a slight problem with separately grilling my toast, especially when the grill is very hot, virtually impossible with gluten free bread !

Great location. I have stayed in many hotels and BnBs before, and thought I'd had the best breakfast a while ago - but this place exceeded ALL my breakfast expectations, and it was truly delicious! *Real* sourdough bread, amazing eggs and field mushrooms. Thank you. Views were delightful. Lovely spot across the river for a cafe and paddle (if you are so inclined) - and then a pleasant (uphill) walk into town.

Blinds in bedroom were really flimsy and let in loads of light, so woke up at 5am. Could have done with a black-out blind or curtains. Owners/staff seemed a bit down and dour. Not sure if that was just their way or if they were having a bad week.

Nice hotel, lstaff friendly, breakfast and dinner excellent bedroom and bathroom cold. We stayed in the cottage the radiator in bedroom only heated half the room and the timer was poorly set tje room was still freezing cold at 7.30 am. The towel rail is inadequate to heat the large bathroom, toilet seat was freezing and floor was too.

Sorry I will do like here. The hotel building and situation was perfect for access to the town. Friendly staff, and nice amenities in the main building.

The location was great very close to local shops and beautiful walks. The staff were welcoming and the food was great especially the evening meals they were exceptionally good everything cooked to perfection. The bedroom and bathroom were extremely clean not a spec of dust. Parking was great too and free!

The bed was a little uncomfortable for us and the pillows too but thats just a personal preference also not the best shower but there was a lovely bath

Well presented & decorated public areas. Room spotless. Quiet location with countryside view. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Polite staff.

For a 4 star I expected better quality complimentary shower & hair products. Also they weren’t replaced on the 2nd day, we used our own. I hadn’t realised it was dog friendly, I think there should be separate areas for dog owners use, in the breakfast area adjacent to the reception desk people had a dog with them at breakfast.

Lovely hotel which is extremely pet friendly, great location under 10 mins walk into centre of Ludlow, it is uphill as some reviews mention but my wife and I are in our 50's and it really isn't hard work. Parking is ample and easy, there is a field opposite the hotel which is great for walking your dogs in and it was remarkably dry considering all the wet weather we have had. Restaurant was very good too, would not hesitate to recommend this place

Minor quibble but some extra outdoor lighting would be useful for last dog walk of the day.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and was well presented.The fruit salad was particularly tasty. Hotel was within walking distance of the town and could be easily walked in about 10 minutes whilst leaving the car behind to allow a few local beers to be drunk.To be fair i visited the vast majority of the pubs in Ludlow and the Ludlow Brewery twice over a two day period so there was little point in having my car with me. If walking back from town then take a small torch with you to light the way as in parts it is particularly dark.

i was in room 4 which was next to/above the kitchen area.I sleep with the window open so the sound from the extractor fans was noisy early doors [06,30 am ] but i am up and about early ,[old age i'm afraid], in any event but with the window closed it reduced the noise.If you like a lie in then it might be a problem but it didnt detract from my stay in that particular room.
