The location and breakfast were excellent. The bar area and dining room were spacious and comfortable. Very comfortable bed in our room. Friendly and helpful staff.

To be honest, the room itself felt a bit drab, with dark curtains helping to block any natural light, and no decent overhead or task lighting for reading. We were also disappointed that even the bottled water in the room had to be paid for - in any other hotel we have stayed in the water has been complimentary. You could also do with allocating more milk, and two packs of biscuits per day to rooms with more than one guest.

I travelled from Manchester to see a comedian so the chances of other people doing the same had me worried the customer service of the staff would have varied from helpful to almost inexistent going off previous experience. However, the staff was amazing, helpful and couldn’t be more resistant. The room itself was clean, classy and of standard. Worth every penny. The selection of bars and food options were great also

My room didn’t have the best view but going on the location of the hotel, there wouldn’t be much to see anyway.

I think the 7 to 14 day deposit of 100 is a bit stretched out and could be deposited back a bit sooner than that.

Location excellent, as it's nr the town centre, about a 5-10min walk depending on which section of the centre you're heading to. Also it is about 6min walk from the main rail station. Hotel has a lift that takes you down to the Quayside, helpful as it's a very steep walk. Q'side is wonderful at night, seeing all the bridges lit up. Parking, there is on-site. Wonderfully comfortable hotel, beautifully furnished and carpeted. Only had excellent evening snacks there so apart from that I couldn't comment on food. Staff very pleasant. Like real ale? Try the Bridge Hotel 30sec walk from the hotel, and the Crown Pasada down towards the Quayside, it also plays vinyl rock music.

Had difficulty getting it into my head that the Reception is on the 6th Floor. Our room 708, although comfortable did not seem to have air con, but yes a fan was provided. Had concerns over the shower; there are no safety grips to help you get into or out of the shower/bath.

Check in was good after Marcus intervened & helped - he parked our car for us outside the hotel which was a great help with having wedding items to bring into the hotel. Marcus went above & beyond & was very friendly. Room was excellent & breakfast was varied & tasty. Breakfast staff excellent too. The location is great - lift straight down into the quayside part of town or up the bank to Grey street. Would also like to mention Lucas the hotel wedding planner - he was superb on the day & made sure everything ran smoothly on the day. Thanks to everyone.

Not serving draught beers in the Above Function room & also not being allowed to bring them up to the room from other bars. Strange. This didnt spoil my night one bit as i can drink anything.

Good location just a 5 min walk from the station

Breakfast - Self Serve full english was tepid in temperature, although tasty it could have done with being kept hotter in the bain marie's. You have other choices such as eggs benedict etc that are cooked to order just a shame I did not choose this instead. I decided against prebooking breakfast on booking.com as the cost was high but received a £10 breakfast voucher at check in. Based on my experience I did not feel that this was a good enough experience for even the £10 if I had paid the original quoted cost I would have definitely asked for a refund.

The hotel was beautiful, the bar, dining, reception areas were lovely. The staff were so helpful and really friendly.

We were in room 904 and the main room was fine - although the bed was incredibly hard (but that's personal preference) and I felt it uncomfortable. The pillows were uncomfortable, not sure if they were memory foam but they were lumpy. The bathroom was dated with limescale at the top of the shower door, and you could see where there was patching done on the woodwork round the door frame. With all that in mind, everything worked.

We always enjoy our stay at the Vermont. The rooms are great. This time we had food in the bar as we were going to the arena early so didn’t use the restaurant. The food was not good. The fish finger goujons were inedible as was the toasted bread they were in. The bread in fact was impossible to even cut. The ‘rustic chips’ were cold. Both myself and my husband were unable to eat it and left it.

The room was lovely and a pretty decent size. Was also very pleased to see a fan in the room too, which we pretty much had on the whole time (it was needed)! Actually quite liked the view from the room which was of the rail line, so seeing the odd train flying by was quite nice! Also want to say a big 'thank you' to the night manager for helping solve an issue we had with our door! The door had reset so our card keys weren't working. Thankfully it all got sorted out quickly :)

The only unfortunate thing was hearing doors slam every now and again, one of which woke me up. Can't be helped though as the doors are pretty heavy!

We stayed here for my sister birthday, while checking in they gave us a free breakfast for her. When we got to the room there was a birthday card and a plate of pastries for her. The service was amazing, the room was beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! (I have severe back problems so usually my back hurts after sleeping in a new bed).

The lighting in the room was lovely however sure more lights around the mirror would have been handy (only for getting ready to go out) but this really was t a huge issue as we just got ready in the bathroom
