We only wish we could stay longer.

Superb little hotel just 25 mins walk from centre of Oxford. Off-road free parking there for 5 cars. Hotel building had a solid quality feel to it. Everything clean, well painted and fresh. Carpets plush and comfortable. Room clean and woodwork gleaming white gloss paint. Windows are single glazing casement, but perfectly adequate. Very quiet location so no noise pollution at night. Bed very comfortable. Pillows deep and plush. Duvet was fine. Extra blanket available. Everything worked. Couldn't hear neighbouring rooms. Room temperature control can be adjusted. Windows can be opened for fresh air. Breakfast conservatory well-supplied for breakfast - hot food was nicely done. Lots of other choices too. Pleasant well-kept garden. Staff helpful and courteous. Books and games available for our use. Excellent entry system for after hours worked perfectly. I was so pleased with this hotel. I was really pleasantly surprised. It felt like the place was cared for. It had a good atmosphere about it too. I would without hesitation stay again.

We had a spaciuous, comfortable and nicely designed room for three, with garden access for two nights. Beds were comfortable. Heating etc worked well. We had a parking at the hotel. The centre of Oxford is within walking distance (10-12min). Some good restaurants and pubs are even closer. 8.5 points would be okay if fine tuning was possible.

Nothing serious but - we were a bit surprised that the room was tidied up only in a visibly superficial way. - Breakfast was ok, but could easily be better with a little effort (eg add fresh cheese, ham, not just bread for toasts).

The hotel was as described and our room was large with separate en-suite bathroom. There was tea and coffee making in the room. The hotel was a short £2 bus journey from the Train station and probably only a 25 min walk into the centre of Oxford. It’s just off the Banbury Road but was quiet. We arrived at 1pm and while our room was being finished for check in we sat in the very pleasant garden with a coffee and picnic lunch we had bought. 10 minutes away are two really good pubs, the pick of which was the Vegan only Gardeners Arms where we had a lovely Sunday dinner and really fun Pub Quizz. Food finishes at 8pm and quizz starts at 9.30pm. Breakfast was in the conservatory with good cereal options and a good enough range of cooked items for a filling breakfast. Vegetarian sausages were available on request.

Spacious room, quiet location and friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast was a lot better than expected. Right opposite St Hugh’s College.

Staff forgot to clean our room one day, possibly due to us hanging the “please do not disturb”sign outside our room during early morning (we took the sign down near lunch time). If the room had a “please tidy up my room” sign in addition to the “do not disturb” sign, clearer instructions can be provided to staff members. Mattresses are on the extra soft side, not the best for people with back pain.

Our stay was very comfortable. The room was very clean, roomy and well equipped. For breakfast everything was supplied and you could help yourself. Staff were constantly checking the supplies to make sure things were topped up. Very helpful when we arrived, as we were early expected not to be able to check in, but the room was ready and we could unload our luggage, which was very helpful. Information re bus services were displayed by the front door and always updated. There was also a garden which would be nice for a summer visit. Also information in the room re nearest pubs and restaurants. Excellent place to stay. Can't wait to go back.

We were wowed the moment we stepped in. It looks and feels cosy like you are in an English cottage. The room is spacious and the bathroom is very clean. There were instant hot chocolate and cookies too! We loved the breakfast area as well. The staff were all friendly and were always smiling whenever we approached any of them. Will definitely come back to stay there again. We like that they have books and boardgames in the common area, and all the rooms have individual unique names.

St Margaret's is a small charming hotel in a historic building. The rooms are spacious, newly refurbished and tastefully decorated. My room was on the second floor (no lift) and had a large modern bathroom. The location is convenient to central/north Oxford. The breakfast is a bit minimalist, but still sufficient. Less quirky than last time I visited, which to be fair was not long after COVID etc. Downstairs room was very nice, though next to the small car park. Good toiletries, strong shower pressure. Main reason to stay is proximity to St Hughs if visiting there, but it's a pleasant short walk into central Oxford too. Despite some concerns re wifi from other reviews, I was able to join work video calls and had strong stable connection throughout.

Cooked breakfast a bit poor - undercooked hash browns, sausages seems very low pork, ultra cheap kind.

Everything is perfect! Whenever I come to Oxford, I book this hotel. Its location is convenient. The place is safe and quiet. Staff members are friendly and helpful. You feel at home. As I am travelling with my family, I felt that this is the perfect place for me. The hotel is flexible and able to accommodate most of its guests' needs.

Nothing I didn't like. As I said, it is a good hotel and has a welcoming environment. I recommend it for stays.
