The location was quite convenient with access to public transportation and within walking distance of the town center. The Summertown shops are nearby, which made food shopping easy. The single room was cozy, and the bed was reasonably comfortable.

The primary negatives were the lack of water pressure in the shower and the lack of protein at breakfast. If I showered early (ca. 6:00 am), the water pressure was adequate, but if I showered later, the water pressure was abysmal. This is, no doubt, due to the facility being in an older building. Breakfast consisted entirely of carbohydrates and dairy (milk and yogurt). It would have been nice to have had some kind of protein, such as a boiled egg or cold cuts, to create a balanced breakfast.

Adams guesthouse is right at the heart of Summertown, few miles north of Oxford city centre. The place is small, and the facilities are kind of dated, but the rooms were perfectly adequate. Beds were comfy, the showers were quite good, and the breakfast was nice (eggs, cereal, toast, coffee, fruit). Excellent -- especially given the price!

The rooms are a bit tired, and also on the small side, but perfectly adequate. The rooms are not accessible. Also the breakfast is only from 8 to 9 in the morning ( I would think that the staff are flexible though)

All good thanks. Staff friendly and facilities good even though it is an old style guest house. However, I noticed an electric charging point and had I known this and terms of use, I would have travelled by EV. Great central location. Only 2 parking spaces but was lucky enough to use one. I would have paid extra to book the one near the charge point.

Maybe slightly more choice of cooked breakfast, however the fried egg was nice. Notification on the notice board of a local reliable taxi firm would have helped too.

The property was in the ideal location for me, only a 15 minute bus journey to Oxford city centre. I was able to park at the front of the property as there was a free space, however on a busier night this may have not been possible. The bed was comfy and I enjoyed the tea and coffee making facilities. The host was welcoming and I had a good choice of continental breakfast options in the morning.

The room was a little dusty on unused surfaces, and I had trouble fully closing the blind. However this did not impact my stay.

Summertown shops area is great. The breakfast was better than expected, and they left fruit out all day. The staff were all friendly. My room was the cheapest, and small, but had everything I needed (towels, kettle, tele, refreshed the coffee and tea).

My room a bit of a fusty smell. The window was a skylight, so no view outside. The towels couldn’t dry, and they weren’t changed.

2 miles from the centre of Oxford.Taxi to our wedding venue (Exeter College, Turl Street) was £6 which seemed very reasonable compared to our home town (Brighton). But I’m sure there are buses. Didn’t spend much time in Summertown where the guesthouse is but there are lots of useful shops on your doorstep - including Tesco Express, and Marks Simply Food. And very useful on a Saturday night...a mobile kebab van opposite!

Bathroom is a bit small and shower not very strong. Went hot and cold in the morning. Fine in the summer in warm weather. Maybe more of an issue in colder weather.

Overall it was a great stay. It was a cosy, well maintained, clean property. We went there for marathon and since this property was on main road, we were informed in advance that the road will be closed and parking will be an issue. The owners were kind enough to arrange the visitors parking ticket for us to park on other streets which is much appreciated.

Nothing much worth mentioning.

The location was excellent!! Only 6 mins on the bus into the town centre. The staff at Adam’s are really lovely as well. Breakfast was also really nice. We would definitely stay there again if we visit Oxford. We’ve had a lovely experience. Thank you. 👍

There’s nothing that we didn’t like to be honest. Yes, we’ve seen the comments that the rooms are tired and yes, they are. The owner told us herself that she is aware and addressing the situation. However, it was a lot more friendly and more personal than a hotel stay. X

Situation- only 10 minutes away from Oxford City Centre. The hosts were very welcoming. It is ideal for individuals, families and even teenagers, part of a family. There is parking on the front of the Guest House, with more parking available around the place, if needed. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast was very good.

Nothing, everything was very good.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. Location was a 10-15 bus ride from the city center with several shops and restaurants nearby.

Very dated and needs some upkeep. Some fresh paint and dusting in overlooked areas would go a long way. Be aware that there is a cat on the premises and was in the building while I stayed here.
