Room was great for us staying - the main bed was really comfortable - the pull out sofa bed was less comfortable but kind of expected due to it being a pull out bed. We felt very comfortable staying with our dog. It was situated at the back of the pub so we weren't disturbed by noise from the pub. Enclosed area outside the door so felt that it was a safe space for dogs/children not to be straight out into the rear car park area. Food at the pub was delicious. Good variety and very fresh. During our stay we tried pies, fish & chips & fresh pizza and all very tasty. Staff were really helpful and pub seems very popular with locals too.

Plug socket to the right of the main bed seemed faulty (crackling noise when you switched it on/off) so we chose not to use it. Great to have the ensuite but the shower was a bit snug

We only had cereals & toast for breakfast. There were plenty of those provided. The car parking facilities were excellent and the chalet was quiet throughout. Very relaxing environment with more sheep than people in the vicinity. Heating was very effective and easy to control once I'd found the switch hidden behind the wardrobe.

My partner's steak served to her on our first evening in the bar was as tough as owld boots- but that's sirloin for you! The tap in the sink was not secured to its base which meant that turning it off or on was a two handed job-could be a problem for someone genuinely disabled. I wasn't able to point this out to a staff member when I checked out as there was nobody at reception.

The location of the Cross Keys Inn was ideal for us being just a short way off the M6 at the Tebay junction for an overnight break on our journey to Scotland. The pub is delightful with only a few rooms but extremely warm and welcoming, clean and friendly, helpful staff. Good food with great choices for breakfast. Excellent value for money. The area around the Cross Keys is beautiful and well worth exploring being between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

Nothing - it was a perfect overnight stay.

Spacious, clean, great food and really nice staff. A new guy who had just started that day helped us at breakfast time this morning and was amazing. He chatted with our wee boys and even put breakfasts back under hot lamp when we had to take my son to the toilet AND reunited me with my phone and my other son’s socks (we were having one of “those” mornings). Total Legend! Anyway, a great stay in this family friendly inn. I’m sure we’ll be back soon.

Wi-Fi wasn’t really available in chalet rooms (I don’t think) but no big deal.

The location was perfect for what we wanted, celebrating our anniversary we wanted cosy and that's exactly what cross keys is. The staff were unbelievably friendly and so helpful. We were incredibly looked after. The pub is beautiful! And the food..... Wow, it was honestly the best food I've had in a long time. We stayed in a chalet and they are so cute. Beautifully decorated and super clean. We shared wine by the fire and ate delicious food!

This place is quite a surprise. From the very dark outside (early December break) we were surprised by the warmth of the inside and the staff who greeted us. We were directed to park outside our chalet which, sadly, was very dark and slippery. The room was everything we needed but we could have done with a light switch to turn off the outside light that was quite disturbing for us, as we're used to a totally dark bedroom. Our evening meal was delicious; the spiced parsnip and apple soup was superb! Breakfast was a little less enjoyable. I felt awkward due to the staff member's attitude to the choices. Cereals, full English or a vegetarian breakfast. I don't eat the 'non-English breakfast' option of beans or hash browns, but didn't dare ask for them to be omitted! She was scary.... All in all though, we would stay there again but next time I'll be brave - honestly!!

Scary lady! Dark slippery pathway to our room. The path was separated paving-slabs but I couldn't tell until I turned my foot on one, then another.... Some low wall-lighting would help with this.

Tebay ia a lovely little village and the pub was excellent. The chalets are very comfortable with a view of the hills. We enjoyed our food, peri peri chicken, steak, haddock and roast dinner. The bar was friendly and we enjoyed watching the football in there. There is a space to park right by the chalet so it's very easy to unload. My husband also loved "Dave's Shed"!

There was a plumbing problem with our toilet which was very noisy during the night. This was rectified the next day.

The property was easy to find and a lovely little spot with very friendly staff and very friendly locals with an easy to use car park. conveniently located off the M6. Also, had an amazing meal for dinner and for breakfast 

Just personal preference, the place is quite characterful and old, so therefore it was wonky in the room which had led to the bed being a little wonky and one of us thought they’d fall out (quite amusing) but the place had very lovely character. Equally the actual place where it’s located did have anything to do so just a sidenote for you if you are staying but however we didn’t research anything around the area as we’re only stopping for a long journey to Scotland so could be wrong!

The Cross Keys in in an excellent location for a stop off on a long journey or as part of a tour of the area.Near the M6 but in a quiet and beautiful setting. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The tasty breakfast well presented served in a dining room with lovely views. Our room was spacious and the bed comfy with good sized bathroom on suite. The public areas offered a bar, pool, darts and good sized TV and an a food menu alll in a cosy village pub setting.

The lack of water pressure made the shower in the bath impossible to use. The kettle had to be plugged in on the floor and the mirror in the bedroom was too low to be of use. No mirror by the shaver point. A small TV with poor reception. I feel a number of small things let this otherwise great property down.
