A wonderful B&B with everyone made to feel very welcome by the patrons Neill and Tyrone. Our room was great, ceiling was a little low in places but you quickly learned to duck your head. The bed was extremely comfortable and I have never slept better. I had scrambled eggs and salmon for breakfast on both mornings, absolutely delicious and i should have asked Tyrone how he did his eggs. However might be a secret recipe. Do order the fruit as also lovely with many different types of fruit. If we are ever down down that way again we would look no further than Myrtle cottage... Many thanks lads :-)

So much thought and effort has gone in to keep the property in great shape and ensure a comfortable stay. We were in a fairly small but quiet room at the back - as expected for a property of this age - mind your heads! The little extras could be seen all over the place, from snacks in the room, to bathroom toiletries, and even to a surprise windscreen clean prior to departure! Breakfast was top notch, with locally sourced high quality ingredients. Tyrone & Neil were just the best hosts - thanks!

This charming property was beautifully presented with exceptional attention to detail. Very helpful and welcoming hosts. Neil and Tyrone have put so much thought, love and care into this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. The food was delicious. Plenty of choice. Very very comfortable rooms. So clean everywhere. I cannot recommend this place enough. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you guys for your hospitality. We really felt spoilt

There was nothing at all to NOT like about this property

Perfect location, spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and decorated. The wonderful hosts, Tyrone and Neil, were welcoming and engaging. They had thought of everything to ensure a very comfortable stay. Lots of lovely little touches, eg, fresh milk and chocolates in the room. The bed was very comfy, with great quality linen, towels, and the breakfast was lovely. A real gem in a lovely village with so much stunning scenery and places to explore in close proximity.

That we only stayed one night, wish we could have stayed longer

Everything about Myrtle Cottage was amazing, the owners are lovely and will do all they can to make your stay homely and perfect. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the mod cons. There are loads of great finishing touches which make the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable! The breakfast was possibly the best I've ever had, with high quality local ingredients (10/10 sausages). My partner also loved that the owners went out of their way to provide an excellent vegetarian breakfast with good vegan bacon. Overall, the best B&B we've ever been to and a bargain for the prices charged! We'll be recommending it to friends and family for a long time.

In essence my partner and I were looking for somewhere friendly and cosy for an autumn break with our new dog - the reviews were highly encouraging and I'm so glad we managed to get in. Myrtle Cottage is everything one could ever dream of: an enchanting and lovingly tended little private garden, The rooms are as quirky as expected, everywhere is meticulously clean, bed and crisp linen super comfortable, bathroom and towels spotless. As others have said it's the little touches that make this place so outstanding: welcoming cake available upon arrival, delicious little chocolates and a treat for the dog left in the room. The owners made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived and made a great fuss of our dog, putting him totally at ease. Nothing is too much trouble, and you really feel so well looked after. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfasts are to die for - as is the full English, much enjoyed by my partner. Can't wait to go back again. Thank you so much Tyrone & Neil!

Faultless - the hosts are so attentive and caring - without being intrusive.

Of all our nine stays in the UK, Myrtle Cottage is the most memorable and the one we would always recommend to friends. The hospitality of Tyrone and Neil would be very difficult to surpass, from the welcome to the cleaned windscreen on our departure. Breakfasts were lovely and the cottage is well located with plenty to see in the area. One word of advice, listen to the instructions given on the use of the coffee pot (inside joke).

Breakfast was excellent. Very good, friendly service - sufficient attention without being too much. Food splendid and always delivered with a friendly little chat. The offer to pack my croissant to take with me rather than eat at breakfast, was much appreciated too.

No, can't think of anything. I was a bit tall for the ceilings in parts of my room (!) but there were plenty of warnings. Had I stayed more than one night I'd have learned!

Exceptionally clean and beautiful room in a lovely Postcard West Country cottage, nestled in the centre of Porlock. Don't be put off by the proximity to the road, as you don't hear anything through the old Cob walls. Free parking is available at the back of the property, which leads you through a quaint cottage garden oasis into the house. Tyronne and Neil were a perfect team, providing both a traditional and continental breakfast with a variety of choices. They were the perfect hosts, very welcoming, and making us feel immediately at home. We very much look forward to staying with them again.

This historic cottage and garden was beautiful, set in the heart of Porlock village. Tyrone and Neil were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, and they catered to our special requests with no hesitation. We needed to eat breakfast and leave early for the South West Coast ultra marathon, and they willingly served us our porridge breakfast earlier than usual. The cottage was spotless and well kept. Tall people need to beware of low ceilings, but if you like character in a B&B this is the place for you!

Parking was quite tricky at the rear of the property due to the position of the spaces in the driveway, but with careful maneuvering we were grateful to have a space on site.
