What a little hidden gem! It's an absolutely fantastic b&b with great hosts. We stayed in the family room, which met all expectations and more! The photos shared online are EXACTLY what we got, and we weren't disappointed. The room was clean and spacious for a family of three. Facilities to make hot drinks with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits. Our en-suit-wow! Perfect size and more for a family! Lovely sized bath and a shower also. In our room, we had a book with information such as WiFi code-teen was happy! Also, leaflets of places to see and visit. We were visiting for a family wedding otherwise we would have made use of the leaflets. We also had two fans in our room as the weather was so warm-the hosts had thought of everything! In our bathroom cabinet, there was a choice of body washes and shower gels. We didn't need them, but a fantastic idea if these had been forgotten when packing! Breakfast was lovely, having a cooked breakfast every morning-we completed a breakfast form the night before. You could choose between a certain time for breakfast. Cereals on offer, yoghurts, individual fresh fruit pots, and Fresh pure orange. The food was so good, and nothing was too much trouble. Such a peaceful location with stunning views!!

A truly great place to stay. The host was lovely and welcoming. The location was well maintained, plenty of parking and peacefully quite. The outside area has a dedicated smoking area and lovely back gardens. The room was spacious and comfortable. It had everything you could want in there, in including new tooth brushes, shampoo, conditioner's, shower gels, tea coffee, hot chocolate, phone charger 'block', TV, mood lighting, flyers, welcome book, day bed, large double bed, beautiful views, breakfast preference's for any pallet, nice hearty full English with a spacious and bright dining rooms. Fresh juices, fruit, cereal, cooked breakfast, yogurts'. No request was too big or small! it was amazing!

The shower pressure in the left hand upstairs room wasn't the greatest, but still enjoyable.

Absolutely one of the most charming and comfortable b&b's EVER! Lovely garden and updated cottage - totally wonderful! Warm welcome, in-room coffee, fluffiest towels, lovely king bed mattress - the list goes on & on. The full English breakfast is all homemade by our most wonderful hostess/owner, Ellen. Honestly - it was one the very best experiences in all of our 10 days in England. HIGHLY recommend!

Cannot think of one single thing we didn't like. It was lovely in every way.

The garden! I had the Woodland Room downstairs with patio door opening direct into a garden all to myself. What a restful delight - comfy seating, birdsong, flowers, the subtle sound of water trickling into the fish pond... Ellen is the perfect hostess, friendly but not intrusive and makes a really delicious breakfast. Guests choose exactly what items they want for breakfast by ticking a little form, and leaving it in the hall before 10pm the night before - you could even ask to have it anytime from 7am to 9am. A lot of thought had obviously gone into being as helpful as possible to their guests, for example, chilled water and fresh milk was always available in the fridge in the hallway. It was very clean and the decor was top quality and pleasant, reflecting a fondness for British wildlife. I knew there was a dog about the place, called Rosie, but I never saw it (I had told Ellen that dogs can make me nervous), and it's also a very quiet dog, I only heard a very little barking once while I was there. Apparently there's a cockerel too, but I didn't hear it, though I did hear the occasional fighter jet flying over on training flights from Coningsby. In summary: delightful.

It's a pity about the traffic noise from the busy A16 (but the garden was still restful). Mirror above sink is right opposite the shower. The switch for the shower (and extractor fan) is in the bedroom. It is requested to be quiet after 11pm.

Host was very friendly and welcoming. Myself and my husband had booked a twin room as the website said we could 'upgrade' to a twin from a double, and the host immediately offered to rearrange the room for us so we could have a double. She was helpful and offered recommendations on where we could go to eat on the evening. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, bathroom was very nice and modern and the room was spacious with a lovely view and access to our own private garden area. We liked that we were able to order breakfast the night before and select what exactly we wanted on our cooked breakfast, which was cooked really well and was lovely, with locally sourced ingredients (eggs from their own hens/ducks etc).

The cottage was a bit out of the way from the nearest village so we were restricted a little on where we could go to eat after we arrived, however this was our own fault for not planning properly beforehand. The cottage itself was in a lovely quiet and peaceful area.

Ellen was a wonderful host, with a warm personality and who was very welcoming. Breakfast was top-notch, cooked to order and to perfection, with all the trimmings that went with it. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom, with a very comfy bed and was immaculately clean and comfortable. I would recommend White Cottage to all, for an excellent, home-from- home, relaxing break-away.

We had the garden room which was on the ground floor so ideal if you cannot climb stairs and you do get your very own garden. The room is spacious, very clean and there is everything you could wish for in clouding toiletries, tea, coffee and water. The breakfast was really nice and the hosts very friendly. We would say it was the best room we have ever stayed in.

The hosts obviously spend a huge amount of time looking after the property and their customers, maintaining the highest standards. The gardens are really fantastic, the room very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect too. A really lovely stay, thank you. Highly recommended!

Nothing, the hosts clearly care a lot about their standards and deserve 5 star ratings.

This is not a slick fancy boutique hotel that you need a mortgage to buy drinks at the bar.....it is far better.......why?..Homely, comforting...like staying at a favourite family members home. Very welcoming face on arrival, easy, no fuss booking in. Our room upstairs was large, as expected it had the country cottage feel. A large ensuite bathroom with a shower that you don't bang your elbows on eveytime you turn. A fabulous welcome touch was two home baked scones, cream and jam with selection of hot beverages if required. The next morning a proper, Full English Breakfast is on offer with quality produce, eggs from their own chickens. If your visiting friends or just passing through we recommend a stop off here
