The food at breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious. The restaurant staff were polite and courteous. I felt very comfortable, which was important particularly as I was there on my own. The hotel staff were polite friendly and professional. The room I stayed in was fabulous, spacious with a large bathroom and bath. It was spotless.

The room was quite cold even though both radiators were on. When I started to run a bath, brown water came from the hot tap. I telephoned reception who immediately checked out the tap in the room next to mine and found the same problem. They didn't really have an explanation. Luckily, I was able to have a shower instead. The water was fine later. I felt they could have been better about this and perhaps offered me another room or if that was not possible then explain that the hotel was fully booked so there were no available room. Or I could have been offered a discount off my bill.

It’s a country house full of character, comfortable furniture and attractive dining facilities. It sits in its own attractive grounds with a sun terrace. It’s a place to relax and feel comfortable. It would make a very good wedding location. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.

The local area of Hockley Heath is not so interesting and you can hear the M42 traffic in some places. The house also lacks a lift which can make it awkward on occasions.

Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings, not far from the motorway but very peaceful. Great staff and fabulous food, you’ll definitely be well fed. Room very spacious and facilities were spot on with everything you could need.

Definitely a little on the warm side, and also noticed what sounded like a banging door from somewhere within the hotel from about 7:30 am. Sounded like a swinging door that banged three times each time. Wondered if it was coming from the kitchen but didn’t notice it when eating in the dining room.

We stayed for just one night, our room was on the ground floor near to the bar so it was quite noisy in the evening but was quiet by the time we left the restaurant. The hotel is down a lane, and although you can't see the M40 from the grounds, you can hear it outside, but it wasn't a problem in the room. We really enjoyed our meal in the restaurant - the desserts in particular were incredible! We also loved the breakfast - a continental buffet plus a wide choice of freshly cooked breakfasts.

Checkout is 10am - we'd have liked a checkout of 11am so that we could stay a little longer!

Breakfast service was not great on our first morning. We were a group of five. Two of us were served our breakfast before the others had even ordered. We were very disappointed with this and did complain. On our second morning we were all served together. Disappointed in the fine dining restaurant. We all felt that the food was a little pretentious, and did not live up to our expectations.

Great food, clean bedroom and public areas, friendly/hardworking staff. My husband doesn't generally write reviews but he told me I had to do one as he was so impressed with the service we received from Patsy. Handy for NEC.

Towel rail not working in bathroom. Dodgy aerial/socket for tv. Picture kept breaking up.

This was simply a wonderful hotel. Beautiful surroundings, lovely, friendly staff, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Bath was superb! Breakfast was amazing, great choices and well made. Evening meal was lovely and well presented by great staff. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Just a bit too noisy in bedroom due to something like boiler room or air conditioning.

Exceptional one night stay. Allocated the bridal suite - which was delightful and spacious. Excellent evening meal. Lovely country-house style hotel, surrounded by well kept gardens and very convenient for the M40.

It didn't bother me, but there is the constant 'white noise' of motorway traffic.

Excellent value for money, beautiful decor throughout the hotel, the bar was really glam and the bedroom and bathroom were so much nicer than we expected, the pictures online don't really do it justice. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Minor grumbles but the room was boiling, there was a fan but it didn't really do the job. No shower gel or soap in the bathroom.

We were travelling with our 10 month old baby and the staff could not have been more helpful. Moved our room to a ground floor one, delivered room service silently, supplied a cot bed, high chair ready at the table for breakfast... just little things to make it all so easy. Beautiful property, lovely food, delicious breakfast. We'll be back for sure.
