Well situated hotel with spectacular walks right from the doorstep suitable for all abilities. Lovingly restored we had a genuinely warm welcome from Jan and Pip, who had completed the restoration themselves. Huge room, with great views of the surrounding hill country. Hearty breakfast variable to suit all tastes. Highly reccommended 🙏

The hotel is made up of three wings. Two have been beautifully renovated. When we arrived we mistook the rear unrenovated wing for the entrance. The front has a spacious car park and is very welcoming.

Absolutely everything. We were warmly greeted by the fantastic owners. Breakfast was lovely and cooked freshly to order. The room and hotel was immaculately clean. The beds, oh my!! The best mattress I've ever slept on. We will be back again. Such a lovely hotel in a lovely little square with some really nice places to eat on the doorstep. Thank you so much for a lovely 3 nights in your beautiful hotel.

Having to go home......

Breakfast was lovely and service brilliant. Staff fantastic and very helpful. Room was good size and kettle/cups etc easy to use with plenty of space. Single wardrobe in a double room was a little surprising but enough. Shower was a good size and water hot enough. Room service came in from 11am and a nice touch in these days when post-covid means there is usually no room service until you leave. Fabulous couple who run this hotel - not your usual bland place but full of character. Great location right in the middle of the village which was lovely.

There was a tiny television in the room with a Free Sat box that was difficult to navigate - even for someone with an IT degree! It is nice to watch the news in a morning and evening for a few minutes and I am used to hotels with more modern televisions. Not actually a complaint but a minor point to raise the experience from great to excellent.

I was delighted to be welcomed warmly by Jan and put in a recently modernised room with en suite. The location was excellent as Talgarth is a small picturesque town well placed for roads to Llangorse Lake, Hay on Wye, Brecon, Abergavenny and places further afield. Pip's breakfast was indulgent so I entered the holiday spirit and abandoned my well-intentioned weight management programme temporarily! I wasn't looking for a traditional 5 star establishment but I found an honest, spotless and comfortable hotel run by friendly hosts - nothing to dislike there! The tv wasn't easy to work so a quick tutorial would be useful for guests.

The Tower Hotel is in the centre of Talgarth and easy to find. I received a really warm welcome despite arriving drenched after cycling from Rhayader in heavy rain. The room far exceeded my expectations. I was able to dry my wet clothes, the shower was first rate. I had a really good nights sleep. In the morning I was given a hearty cooked breakfast which set me up for a hard day of cycling across the Brecon Beacons to Pontypridd. I will definitely stay at the Tower Hotel again.

There was nothing that I didn't like.

The breakfast was extensive with a very friendly, personal service. The items were high quality (poached egg sausage bacon) and the bread was also very tasty. Pastries were also provided as well as freshly made tea and coffee on request. The room was bigger than I had expected and extremely clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and a well stocked range of tea, coffee and biscuits.

Everything exceeded my expectations. The owners were extremely accommodating and friendly. I would recommend everyone to consider booking this hotel.

Good room - roomy, comfortable and en-suite. Great breakfast. Good to have blankets available as an alternative to a duvet for the hotter nights.

Being summer, needed to sleep with the window open but the local (town hall ?) clock chimed all night, which did not do sleep much good. Somewhere to dry wet clothes would be good. Talgarth prides itself on being a centre of numerous outdoor activities, so it is inevitable that one is going to get wet sooner or later.

This is a beautiful Hotel, set in the quaint and pretty little town of Talgarth. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner who also cooked the most delicious breakfasts. The whole place was immaculately clean, and our room was larger than average and extremely well decorated. There's a lovely Pub, literally a stone's throw away which does tasty food. We're looking forward to a return trip there.

I can't think of anything we didn't like.

We stayed 2 nights in Tower Hotel and loved the premises, especially our very spacious room with view on a little garden full of trees and birds. Jan and Pip were perfect hosts, the breakfast was great and the location, right in the middle of beautiful Talgarth, ideal for us. We came to Talgarth to go for walks in the Black Mountains and couldn't have found a better place to stay. I highly recommend Tower Hotel, it's just very very lovely.

We likes everything about Tower Hotel.

Comfortable. Settee in large room to sit and read or watch tv. In a pleasant small village easy to reach Hay on Wye especially for the book festival. Very helpful and friendly staff. great breakfast. Near to restaurant and with possibility of bringing own food into room with table and with cutlery available Certainly hope to visit again.
