Loved the central location and easy parking. Impressed by staff. We needed help with a tap and the help was immediate and satisfactory as well as being so very pleasant. Breakfasts suited us perfectly and we hope to return. Ten out of ten Castle Hotel and thank you.

We were very happy with the wholeexperience. At the end of a day watching a grandson play cricket what an excellent environment to call our home way from home. What a love ly hotel which matched and exceeded our expectations.

The ambiance, the service, the food. Old fashioned but good quality. The bed was really comfortable, I could have stayed in it all day!

There was insufficient insulation from the room above mine, and early in the morning I could hear every step taken by the person moving around above. As the windows are single glazed, it was very chilly by the window. The long curtains, when closed, covered the radiator, so I had to bunch them up on the windowledge to allow the heat from the radiator to circulate. I assume the building is listed, which is why the sound and heat insulation cannot be improved?

The Hotel receptionist took care of payingt for the car park. I did not have the necessary NCP App on my mobile phone, so she registered and paid, then added the charge to my account. I really appreciated this assistancce. I have had a few single rooms in various hotels. The room at The castle (Room 16) was the best I have ever had, Spacious, clean, and very, very comfortable.

I know I was only at the Hotel for one night, but everything was well up to my expectations. I thought the room was expensive when I booked, but I really think it was worth the little extra. I really could not find any fault during my stay. Well done to all at the Castle. If I need to stay overnight in Tauntion again, I will certainly hope to stay at the Castle again. This was my second such visit, and I have never beed disappointed.

The staff were lovely, the bottle of preseco and card in the room was an excellent touch, the room was large and more than comfortable, a beautiful building, 2 mins walk from town centre. The restaurant (Brazz) was amazing, food, staff and atmosphere all well above standard.

Although the room and stay was lovely in so many ways, there were a couple of points that we noted, the curtains liners on the window sides were quite dirty, and the window frames could have done with a good clean, quite a lot of black mould on the frames, some of them wouldn't close fully, the towel hanger above the bath was lose. We were surprised that we had to pay extra for parking after paying the price we paid for the room. Just one last thing, we weren't told that there was a full English available in the morning, all we were told was that there were continental options or something from the menu.

Friendly staff and a beautiful building, located centrally in Taunton. We had a suite which was lovely, good size and amenities. Have stayed here before, and will stay here again when visiting family in Taunton.

Noisy from the a club or pub until 1am or so, which was a little annoying. But I guess a historic building like this, getting planning on sound proofing windows may be hard. No real complaints.

The location is excellent for a Christmas Break and the Christmas tree in the foyer absolutely beautiful. The room was very comfortable with a comfy bed The bathroom was very clean and spacious.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the lift only reached the first floor. Also I injured my finger on the revolving door at the main entrance. This was because a young man rushing through the door made it revolve so fast that when I tried to stop it my middle finger jammed between the edge of the revolving door and the door frame. I cut my finger quite badly but luckily no real damage was done. However I do think some thought should be given to the door's safety.

We had a beautiful room, had upgraded after receiving email suggesting this; the room was enormous and had a lovely sitting area, lots of antique furniture, large cupboard, dressing table - everything you could possibly want.

I always prefer to have a separate shower as getting in and out of a bath at my advanced age is somewhat tricky; however I have learnt not to ask for this as if I do I am given a disabled room - which I don't need.

The staff are exceptional and the location is excellent. I can’t wait to come back.

The restaurant allows outside groups of people to book and eat there and as such the ambience of the hotel restaurant is ruined with loud gregarious youngsters in the evening. Such a pity as breakfast is a delight and only guests seem to book.

We stayed in the Mendip room. It was huge compared to some of the other rooms (we stayed last year). It was like an apartment, we loved everything about it. Big lounge area, with a 3 piece suite and coffee table. Big sideboard. A dressing room area, with great light, and big bathroom. Coffee machine, kettle, biscuits, with lots to chose from. Nicely decorated too, light and airy. Lovely stay. We'll be coming back again next year.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about the stay. We had breakfast in the morning. I had full English and would have liked beans, but there wasn't any. That was the only negative.

The hotel is comfortable and smart without being bland. It has a lot of atmosphere and the balance of formal and casual is perfect. We had drinks in the Norman Gardens and it was very beautiful in the spring sunshine. The breakfast was absolutely delicious.

I forgot my toothpaste and there wasn't any at the desk which was disappointing given the high standard of hospitality experienced in all other areas. To be this pedantic, everything else was great
