The apartment itself had enough space for 6 heads. Nice kitchen with all necessity available to use tea coffee. The view was stunning. We took a walk around the resort and it exceeded what was even on the advert. The scene around the resort gives so much peace. You can't fault this place. I had to book it again just before Xmas. Worth the money.

There's is absolutely nothing not to like. If you want peace. You will get peace. Only thing we identified is nothing to do with the place itself. But when occupants book in their space for pool, sauna and jacuzzi in slots of 30 minutes each but never turned up which made it impossible for us the girls or any other users to book theirs who really want to use the service. The slots has been taken only to find out they (occupants) never turned up made it difficult coz we had to rush due to clock off time 10am. But other wise all is good.

We stayed at the cottage which was equipped with a kitchen so we made our own food, but the location was perfect for Thirsk races. We arrived after the reception had shut for the day, but received instructions on how to access our key very easily and there was a lovely man that greeted us on arrival that stayed there frequently and he showed us round the pool/sauna area and how to book a slot for the pool/jacuzzi. The grounds surrounding the building were beautiful and peaceful. Outdoor Jacuzzi and indoor pool perfect. Only stayed one night and wished we’d stayed longer. Booked for next year but for two nights for Thirsk races again.

I can’t honestly find any faults other than I wish we stayed longer.

The Cottages were immaculate, spacious and comfortable. They have everything you need, a lot of thought and care has gone into how they're set up. The spa facilities were lovely, and I liked how you get to book a slot for your party only. The grounds are amazing, I do recommend a good walk around them. We walked about a mile, so beautiful including manicured gardens with seating areas, an orchard and woods all with a little river running through it ☺️ The location is also great, just a 5 minute drive into the lovely market town of Thirsk!

The staff member on my initial enquiry was quite rude and abrupt. But at check in the lady on the desk was very nice. Also, we went to the front door on arrival, it wasn't apparent that you had to go to the office around the side of the building so maybe this could be made more noticeable for people going to the front door? As we weren't the only ones!

Online booking was easy and we enjoyed the private hot tub/sauna/pool. Grounds were so beautiful. The check in instructions were super easy to follow.

There were too many spiders in the cabin! There’s no way they were just vacuumed the day we got there. There was a huge one in the shower, on the bathroom window, and in the corner of the bedroom. There were dead ones under the vanity. The video link for check in didn’t work—a map would be better. And for check out instructions, the red box is hard to find. Just say it’s „outside the main house, next to the door that says Reception/Deliveries“. Thanks!!

Lots of information given which made check in when office was closed very easy. Private use of pool was great for our 4 and 7 year old. Pool table in lounge and even a resident cat which the kids also loved. Didn't get to walk the gardens but free tennis and golf was a nice touch. DVD library also good for the kids and the place was very spacious and very clean and comfortable.

Water pressure was poor in most areas but it is an old house so to be expected Kitchen needs an appliance overhaul. Oven and hob need an upgrade and extractor hood button was broken. Minor issues basically.

Well thought out and a decent location for a break. Swimming pool and other facilities able to be booked for your own group for half an hour time slots. This was great as we had a five week old baby and it was his first time in the pool so we obviously had to make preparations for this.

Booked a cottage, some of it was a little dated (bathrooms mostly) but I suppose this was reflected in the price in comparison to the space available.

The communication between the staff throughout was faultless. Although they weren't present at check in the instructions included a video and we had no problems at all. The accommodation was out of this world, attention to the detail and quality of furnishings was outstanding. The reading areas and dvds avaliable were a lovely touch as well as Netflixs being avaliable. The location is excellent, beautiful views and close to some beautiful places to visit. S

The booking system for the pool and hottub was not great. We prebooked but when we arrived for our session people who hadn't booked and claimed they weren't aware of the system, were present and wouldn't leave. The shower also wasn't working in our room. It didn't spoil our stay and we would return but it is something that needs addressing

Wowee! What a fun place to stay! It is actually a former manor house with beautifully landscaped grounds to explore. It feels as though you have stepped back to the 20's and are about to meet Muffy and Bunty for a girl's holiday. No, it's not a fussy place and I do hope they continue to improve the interior decor as the house is crying out for larger works of period art. But DON'T miss this iconic place! The rooms are comfortable plus you get a proper sitting room and a kitchenette. We didn't want for anything and felt very welcome. There is even an atmospheric games room on the ground floor. The layout is half the fun and the pool was a highlight of our grandchildren's 10 day holiday to the UK. We should have stayed longer. Oh well, next time.

There wasn't one thing we didn't like

Superb room with brilliant amenities in the building and beautiful grounds surrounding. The information provided in advance and in the welcome booklet was comprehensive. The pool and hot tub booking process was seamless. The kitchen was very well equipped. We cooked every day. The whole property was spotlessly clean.

The bed was quite uncomfortable and needs replacing. It sagged in the middle of each of the single beds which were joined to make a king.

The large apartment was wonderful! It had a large, light and spacious living room, a cozy bedroom, and a small, but functional, kitchen. The garden view out the windows was lovely. The bathroom had a step over shower/bathtub. The staff was there from 0830-1630 and was very helpful and friendly. Next time we’ll book a longer stay! (The facilities included an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well as another outdoor jacuzzi. We didn’t use these but the looked very nice.)
