Plum and Partridge is a lovely pub, extremely welcoming from the moment we walked in, super friendly staff, our room was lovely with an en-suite wet room, a welcoming tray with some excellent tea, coffee and hot chocolate to. We had our evening meal there and breakfast the following morning, the meals were beautiful and don’t get me started on the desserts because I won’t stop. Stunning! We will go back to the Plum and Partridge and the only thing I would do differently is before we left I would order some Lemon Meringue cheesecake with lemon curd ice cream and bring some home (or take it in the bathroom and not share it with anyone) One more point is they are super friendly if you are bringing one of the dogs with you, Tilly had a lovely breakfast freshly made by the chef.
We have tried to find a fault with our stay and we can’t. Staff lovely, room clean and fresh, iron, fan even a hairdryer……. Would higher recommend the Plum and partridge and will be back soon for another visit x

The location is great, the building is beautiful, nestled in lovely surroundings. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable and have everything you’d need for a night or two stay. Very peaceful area, we had the window open all night and weren’t disturbed at all. Food at the hotel was delicious and the beer garden at the front is slightly raised and lovely on a sunny day. The staff were very wonderful. They let us have a late check out because we were travelling straight to a wedding. Very much appreciated!
The food at the restaurant is quite pricy. The room we had (Wagyu) would benefit from a full length mirror.

Refurbished to a very high standard, this country pub is in a great location for exploring north Yorks and the coast!
The decor and soft furnishings were great and the bar area was very warm and friendly. The young lady in the bar on the evening (23/10) was delightful, chatty and attentive without being intrusive. Food was good pub food, a little over priced as was the beer and wine - more city prices - but a good choice and well presented. Breakfast - good choice, ask for meat (bacon/sausage) to be well cooked!

Cooked breakfast was excellent and well presented. Evening meal was good. Staff were friendly. Room and restaurant were recently refurbished. Good to have local ciders.
Our room had no view - just an atrium roof- which was disappointing since the hotel boasts of its great views. The ventilation in the room was poor and it was very hot despite it being a cold day. A fan was provided and a small window opened but neither made much difference. The room also felt a bit claustrophobic as some of the ceilings sloped. The shower towels were quite small.

We were very pleased with both the location and the property itself. All the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent and their own free carpark behind the building was a definite plus. We were given a free upgrade and room 7 'The Angus' and it was superb. It is a dog friendly pub with, I think, four dedicated dog friendly rooms on the ground floor. It is a great location for walkers and cyclists and an easy drive to Thirsk which is well worth a visit, a wonderful market town with 'real' shops.
I can't really think of any negatives, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My only suggestion might be that as a 4 star pub / hotel, I would appreciate a box of tissues in the room and also an alarm clock would be handy.

Beautifully presented throughout the whole property, the room was spacious and clean, very well laid out, area was a little out of the way for York city centre (only 30 mins) but we didn’t mind as there was amazing things around Husthwaite, such a quaint and quiet village, onsite parking, breakfast was very good and the food was so tasty we went for an evening meal, definitely worth it portion sizes were generous! Very peaceful place! I loved the freestanding bath, clean towels and little soaps available if you forgot anything! The host was beyond kind and welcoming, took us to our room and had all the information we needed, very kind and personable! It was lovely coming at this time of year as was only 3 rooms booked so felt like we had the place to ourselves! If we come back I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

Visited on 250124.We received a lovely warm welcome from Louise who put extra logs on the open fire to make it nice and cosy while we relaxed before our lunch. We ate from the Lunch menu which was excellent value at £21 for a 3 course (£17 for 2 courses) The food was amazing -delicious and fresh, huge portions too ! Breakfast was delicious and chef Dave came out to see us and make sure everything was okay and to check if we needed anything else. Excellent food and customer service, Thank you for being so welcoming Louise & Dave. Hope to return soon.
Only stayed one night -wish it was more

Tucked away in a small rural village outside of York, the team (Louise, Tom, Barry, Katy and everyone else whose names we didn’t get) are all very welcoming and hugely accommodating of any requests from the moment you arrive. The fireside chairs call you back at every possible opportunity and the food is truly exceptional (top marks Barry). Accommodation is very clean, warm and comfortable and there’s ample parking to the rear of the property, would highly recommend visiting!!
Its not a dislike as the place is great, but in a perfect world the fireside area would benefit from more wingback chairs.

Lovely little find away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Immaculately presented restaurant and rooms. Super menu incorporating gluten free options. The food was delicious with a good wine selection and friendly, professional service. Ample parking space here is a plus.
The open fire looked so lovely but with only two armchairs already taken we werent able to sit there with a pre dinner drink. Would be nice to have more armchairs in that area to give it a more cosy look and feel. The other seating area hence lacking somewhat in character and feel for a country pub. Other than that everything was beautiful and would stay again!

Beautiful location in a quant village, the bar area and restaurant looked so luxurious and inviting and looked amazing decked out with Christmas decorations and impressive tree. Loved the little snug area around the log burner fireplace. Our room was amazing and huge with one of the biggest beds we’d ever seen, again all very stylish and comfortable. The food was absolutely outstanding and when our meals were presented we were absolutely in awe. A Christmas dinner for a king and a specialty burger. Had dessert too which again were absolutely perfect. Great walk in shower and bathroom and Chilled in our room watching tv listening to the pouring rain and howling wind, very cosy and snug. Breakfast again was outstanding with quick service and amazing presentation. Left feeling very full.
Couldn’t fault it in any way
