Great location for our trip. Easy efficient booking in, clean tidy comfortable room. Breakfast was good quality hot... Would stay again as positives way out weigh the negatives for us

Contactless booking in and out not our preference. Lack of personal touch, although we did see William at breakfast which is pre ordered night before for the cooked option. These are just our preferences and should not stop anyone from booking this pleasant B&B

Nice clean room and comfortable bed, modern bathroom and towels. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits supplied in the room. Small pleasant dining room, lovely cooked breakfast, juice, cereals and choice of coffees plus tea and toast. Cards to fill in for your cooked breakfast choice for the following morning and cards to fill in if you wanted or didn’t want your room cleaned. Contactless check in was a new experience for us but not a problem with access to our room key via a ‘key safe’. All relevant information was by txt message from the owner which was fine. We didn’t see the owner or any staff during our 2 night stay, when checking out the room key is left in a box in the entrance hall.

Not a complaint but online information did say there was a ‘honesty bar’ available but there wasn’t.

We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed here back in 2017 so it was good to come back and also see the lady that we seen first when we first came. We remembered because she served us back in 2017 with the baby in her arms. We loved our room back in 2017 and loved it now. The breakfast idea was brilliant. Our food ready when we came down.

The stay was fantastic, we will definitely be back 100%. Would have been nice to have some fruit at breakfast but wasn’t a problem so there was no need to say. When we left there was someone in the breakfast room but wasn’t sure who but would have been nice to say goodbye.

Clean, modern, and comfortable, and communication with the owner was very easy via text. Despite very warm weather, my room was cool and comfortable (a rarity in a seaside town where most properties won't have air con!), and the surrounding streets were quiet enough to leave windows open. I was unable to stay for breakfast owing to a very early start, but the in room tea/coffee facilities were great. The on-street parking nearby was fine, plenty available on a busy weekend.

The bathroom was clean, modern, and very nicely decorated. My shower pressure was a bit poor, but that was only a very minor issue! It certainly wouldn't stop me from staying again!

The breakfast was good, exactly as requested and very filling. The purpose of the visit was a conference at the Riviera Centre so the location was just right. I travelled by train so again the location was convenient for the station.

Registration for the conferences was 08;45 so the option of a slightly earlier breakfast would have been useful. I also missed the key box in the hall so a note on the check out would be useful in the notes sheet in the bedroom or in the initial email/text instructions.

Very clean, comfortable room. Nice breakfast. William was very responsive and friendly. The location was a 20 min walk to town, so reasonably convenient if you don’t have mobility issues. Good value accommodation!

It wasn’t convenient not having dedicated parking! When we arrived (in the rain), we had to look for parking on the surrounding streets and wheel our luggage to the Montana. As there was no parking out front, and a bus stop, apparently you can drive up on the kerb, grab the key and then take your luggage inside, prior to looking for parking.

The breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were very clean, you can tell that the whole place was very well looked after. The fan in room was very quiet. Tea, coffee provided. Noticed there was an ironing board and iron for anyone to use. The host William was very nice and messaged us information about key etc. Great location as it was a short walk to the seafront.

There was no parking and trying to get a space down the street was quite hard as it seemed busy all the time. A bit of road noise as we were on the front and on the top floor. Walls are a bit thin, the couple in the room next to us were a bit loud and the banging of the headboard 😂 woke us up 🤦🏼‍♀️ they were a little loud and could hear everything!

Quite central.

It was a shame that they didn’t offer an evening meal/ snack also it would have been nice to have a room where you could come back from a day out and relax, rather than having to go up to your room.

Stayed in room 8 - top floor . Very clean, and comfortable . The whole house is beautiful. Superb breakfast with plenty of choice. Great location within walking distance to town centre and harbour. We was able to park for free in the next street along , there are many other car parks near by. All in allI we had an enjoyable stay and would highly recommend

Nothing to a dislike

I stayed at The Montana from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st May 2023. I was attending The royal British Legion Annual Conference that was being held at The Riviera Centre. The location of The Montana was perfect. it was approximately 5 minutes walk to and from the Conference Centre. The security for the place was good, key that had to be retrieved from the key box, using a code number. The key was then use for opening the front door and my bedroom door. My room was clean and comfortable , the bathroom had everything that I needed and the walk in shower was excellent. The system for ordering breakfast on both mornings was very efficient. I dhose what I wanted from the list provided and it was freshly cooked as per my order. The food was very tasty and I have no complaints whatsoever. In summary I was completely happy with my choice of The Montana.William was excellent in his preparation of the breakfast and he was very helpful in advancing breakfast times due to the timings in the Conference daily programme.. Well Done- The Montana is on my radar for the future.
