My wife and I have stayed at this lovely Dorset pub on a number of occasions and as always we had a wonderful time.A warm welcome on arrival and we had room 1 again which is at the top of the pub and presented to an excellent standard throughout. The full English breakfast was exceptional, made with quality products and cooked to perfection. We ate in the pub on both nights and really enjoyed the small sharing dishes.A big thank you to all the staff at the George and we will be back soon.

Fabulous location, very close to beach and ideal for exploring the area. Friendly staff and lovely food.
We had signal issues with the television and were unable to watch it for the evenings we were there. Parking was tight in the hotel car park.

The room was clean and comfortable, and we stayed in room 3 overlooking the river Brit. There is a dedicated parking spot for each room, to the right of the building, not in the lot out front. There were plenty of coffees, teas, and toiletries, though bring your own shower-cap if you need one. We ate in the restaurant twice, and the food was exceptional, especially the sea-bass, and the chef should be congratulated. The staff are mostly young, but so efficient and friendly, staff like that are worth their weight in gold. Breakfast was cooked to order, full English, omelettes, sandwiches etc, and a nice little touch of a fresh fruit plate and yoghurt, before the hot stuff. We stayed here, in what must have been some of the worst weather for spring, 52mph winds, and sheet rain, but our stay will still stand-out as most enjoyable. Some recent stays in 'pubs with rooms' had left us feeling jaded, as though we were a necessary evil just to keep their local alive (Porthcawl), not here.

The Jurassic Coaster and local buses stop directly in front of the hotel so transportation couldn't be easier. The hotel itself is located in the main square and is a short walk past shops and cafes over to the beach. The staff is excellent as is the food. I had dinner in the restaurant that evening and the included cooked breakfast the next morning. The room was large and well furnished with a lovely view of the waterfront. Both the hotel and the surrounding area were lively but quiet.
I only wish I'd had more time to stay and enjoy the area.

The room had a big bathroom with a super shower over the bath. Lots of storage in the bedroom. Exceptionally clean and was cleaned to a very high standard every day. Breakfast was great, very tasty. Huge choice and huge portions. The dinner menu had a good lot of dishes to choose from and again very tasty and very large portions. The staff were all very friendly. Dan was a great laugh too.
We like a firm bed but we found the bed in Room 5 rather hard. The door lock needs some attention too as it was rather difficult to lock with the key.

The property was very well maintained for an older building. On entering our room we were pleasantly surprised at the standard. Large comfy bed, fresh white linen & towels, tea/ coffee making facilities, biscuits. En-suite with large shower cubicle. Toiletries provided. Great food, especially the breakfast. The staff were a credit to the business.
The only downside in our room was the dressing table chair that had seen better days. 😂

The room was a fantastic size and our view out the window was amazing. We had dinner there and the servings were huge. The breakfast which was included was a massive size which I struggled to eat. Huuny the waitress was very friendly. Loved the location. Reminded me of what a good British Pub should be with even the pub dog sleeping on the floor. Brillant. Bed was also huge and very comfy.
Only thing missing would be a small fridge in the room

Nice pub /restaurant hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable, well appointed large rooms with all facilities (only missing sockets next to bed to be 10/10). Although above the pub and overlooking the central ‘square ‘ the room was nice and quiet. Heavy curtains and blackout blind helped. Bathroom with good shower and plenty of hot water. Good food and beer at the bar in a pub with a pleasant atmosphere. Excellent breakfast.
The only minor downside was the £8 each home made deserts which were flagged up on the menu “ We have a resident "dessert" guru in Les who hand makes all of the desserts and they are not to be missed!” We had a bread and butter pudding and a lemon and raspberry cheesecake and sorry to say that both were disappointing.

Excellent breakfast with superb fresh fruit and huge portions of cooked breakfast items, .The room was very comfortable with nice added touches and towels were large and fluffy. We had an evening meal which was also very good and reasonably priced. The staff at the George were always attentive and polite

Easy to find, staff extremely helpful, food was amazing, all local produce. The room was small but lovely. It had everything you needed, tea making facilities and even bottled water. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water. The shower was amazing, good powerful water supply. Breakfast was plentiful, cereals, croissants, a pot of tea each and a full fry up if you want it. I’m not a meat eater but my partner said the bacon and sausages tasted really fresh.
Our TV didn’t work properly, but we told a staff member who apologised and helped rectify it quickly.
