The Lismore is a lovely building, decorated beautifully and clean and fresh. I had a great night’s sleep with the blackout blinds. Super sea views from my room and at breakfast. The staff were friendly and I received a warm welcome. I’d happily recommend the Lismore to anyone looking to stay a night or few. Good for cyclists, too!! Secure and dry storage!

This place really is a hidden gem. We were an hour late checking in due to a very hard day on Scafell, but they waited up for us which we were extremely grateful for and the staff were so lovely about it and explained how the key worked so we could nip out and get some food and get back in. It was clean and comfortable and the sea view from the room is amazing. The full English breakfast is excellent value for money and so tasty and served in a conservatory where you can look out over the bay and harbour whilst you eat.

I wish we could have parked closer as after a hard day we were tired and rushing to get there, but there are good car parks for a charge not too far away. The water in the shower was a bit temperamental in terms of temperature, but nothing too hard to work around.

Our room had a lovely sea view and was spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious with a good selection of cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit along with beautifully prepared and presented cooked breakfasts. We had a warm welcome and the staff were approachable and helpful.

We had issues with the coffee maker overflowing the mugs provided on 5 of the 6 occasions that we used it, and that was the only means of boiling water for hot drinks. We also found that the hot water to the shower and basin was erratic with sometimes not coming hot at all or running cold during showering.

Everything. First greeted by a gentleman (Brian?) at the front of house and was extremely accommodating and friendly and absolutely accepting that I made a slight mistake in my booking. Breakfast was amazing. So much option, and had a delicious vegan cooked breakfast and loads of great continental options. Fuelled us great for the day. The dining room in the conservatory is very beautiful and bright. The location is beautiful overlooking the sea. The room is so clean and tidy. Beautiful bay window. Gorgeous colour scheme with nice, big, comfortable bed. Quaint bathroom with nice sized shower. Was superb and pristine. Will definitely stay again if up in the area and recommend to anyone looking! Kind enough also to give a parking permit.

- Quiet location 5 minutes walking distance from the harbour - Very friendly staff with a big smile - Spacious room with beautiful decoration, all beds with comfy mattress, very good quality bed linen and towels, very clean in everything, USB sockets in every bed, fast wireless chargers in every bedside table, Tassimo coffee maker, table fan for the hot nights, mini fridge with bottles of water from the owner, TV with a wall bracket makes it easy to watch from your bed and many more that I am sure I have forgotten to mention. - Amazing full English breakfast with everything you need to start your day - I had some special requirements about a space to park my motorbike overnight, and a double bed as I was travelling with my wife. The owner did welcome us with a smile and told us that our requests have been solved. He offered a larger room with one double and two single beds. He kept the driveway as well clear for my motorbike. - The official check-in time is 3pm. I received a message at 11am that the room is ready for check-in. Amazing service. We strongly suggest this guest house to everyone who needs a value for money place to stay.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was excellent, all components of the cooked breakfast were very tasty (including the bacon, which was cooked perfectly!). And the view from the breakfast room over to Scotland (and Ireland, one clear morning) was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower worked very well. And Whitehaven is much under-rated, I think. There are many lovely buildings (some of which are in need of some TLC), the views from the cliff top are amazing, and people seemed very friendly.

Very clean and comfortable;The owners were really nice and friendly and looked after the guests well.My room was upgraded and because it was so cold when I was there ,the heating was adjusted without me having to ask:fresh towels every day-a parking space for my car saved for me and the breakfasts were exceptional with REAL coffee !

It was cold on my first night which my hosts had absolutely no control over and when they could ,they adjusted the heating accordingly.

A beautiful property extremely clean, facilities were brilliant. The breakfast was amazing. Everything fresh and clearly butchers produce not supermarket crap, cooked fresh to order. Pots of fresh fruit and lots of choice of yogurt, cereals etc, bread fresh not sliced prepacked., staff very friendly and accommodating, I disturbed them at 9pm and it wasn’t a bother to them. It is by far the best guest house I have stayed in, in the uk.

Parking was the only issue although the owners did try hard to offer best solutions.

The location is great, no more than 10 minutes from the train station, 5 minutes into the town centre m, 5 minutes to the harbour. The rooms themselves are lovely, very homey. En-suites are always clean as are the rooms. Great views from the rooms and the breakfast room. The staff are absolutely lovely, remembered me from my last stay which shows how attentive they are. Had a minor issue which was sorted no more than 2 hours after I informed the staff.

Nothing I didn’t like.

I received a lovely friendly welcome on arrival. My room was absolutely perfect, with nice little touches including a bedside wireless charging dock. The location was close to the town, but very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic - a lovely selection of options and a superb cooked breakfast with lots of locally sourced produce, all served in the conservatory overlooking the harbour. I will definitely stay here again, thank you for your hospitality.
