The Exhibition Hotel was brilliant. The staff were so warm and welcoming, Charlie was great when we arrived showing us where to park and showing us where everything was located in the hotel. There were nice touches in the room such as toiletries, bottled water and plenty of tea/coffee/milk and biscuits which were replenished when our room was serviced (we stayed for 2 nights). The room was cozy, decorated beautifully, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb, one of the best we've ever had anywhere, the breakfast staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We had a huge jug of fresh orange, the big breakfast was excellent and we could have more toast if we wanted (we didn't as we were too full!) The pub itself is ace, really quirky with lots of nic nacs, a decorated beautifully for Christmas. There is also a massive beer garden which I imagine is fabulous when the weather is good. Our stay also included parking which was an added bonus as my mum can't walk great distances so this was a big plus point. The location is amazing too as it's a 5 minute walk to the Minster and then you're in the middle of everything. We had a great time and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting a fabulous time in York!!

There isn't anything not to like about this hotel !

The location was fantastic and everyone we spoke to was very friendly and very helpful. The room was beautiful and had just enough space. We had early morning plans each day so being around 9-10 for breakfast didn’t work out, but it was plenty offered. The included on-site parking was a game changer and a big reason we booked. We already spoke about staying there again if we come back to York

Not a huge deal, but the bathrooms could have a bit of updating. The light didn’t always come on, the sink was very very slow draining, and a bit of mildew in the shower. The room was so clean and beautiful the bathroom took me by surprise

Really lovely public house (pub) which we found out is known by locals as well and some of them visit here regularly. Staff is amazing, breakfast is truly worth it with a great selection and big, filling portions, the room was small but cozy and the location was incredible! Very recommendable place.

There was a less-than-great smell of sewage in our room. To our understanding, our room is the only one with that issue and they are working on it, trying to figure out what it is and how to fix it, but that still doesn’t make it a great experience. It was quite uncomfortable to stay in but the way the staff dealt with it and their openness to our complaint about it makes it so that I don’t want to rate based on this. Pretty much the rest was really quite nice and even if the bed was a teensy small for our liking and definitely of a bit of an older date, that is not an uncommon thing at hotels and it is an old hotel so we wouldn’t have expected much more than what we got.

Great place to stay. Close to everything. Definitely good value for money. The staff were so friendly and helpful showing us where to park. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Loved coming back on our first night to see they had an open mic night. Really enjoyed listening to the great performers with a few drinks. Would definitely stay here again.

On the first day, breakfast was slow coming out, and we waited about 40 minutes for our hot food. Would have liked a mini fridge in the room as bottles of water were provided but would have been nice cold.

Lovely old pub nicely decorated with lots of curios in very close location to York Minster and with parking out the back. Breakfast was small choice of cereal and then a cooked breakfast of your choice which was fairly decent. Lots of choices of drinks/beers and a decorated back garden. Bottled water was provided 1st night and there was a kettle to make tea/coffee and mini packs of biscuits. Large bottles shower gel/shampoo to utilise. We had a lovely meal in the curry house next door, and as recommended on booking, The Star Inn the City for our anniversary meal which was just few minutes walk away and by the river and was very nice and we highly recommed. Not the Ritz but fair price for location and decent enough. Staff were friendly too and we would go back

Mainly ok though room not huge and double bed just standard size maybe a bit soft. Not a problem for us but no flannels provided just so you know!

Location was great, breakfast was amazing, staff were all really friendly.

We stayed there for two nights from the Saturday to the monday, but on the Saturday the whole bar and beer garden were booked out for a wedding, which is fair enough but when booking we should of been told this as this was one of the reasons we booked the exhibition for the bar and beer garden. The Sunday we had our amazing breakfast and we then found out the bar was closed all day due to an electrical problem.so again we could not use the bar or order food.overall really nice place in great location with friendly staff and amazing breakfast.but this was a weekend to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and that put a slight dampener on the weekend but we would definitely stay there again but they should tell you if they have functions on.

Our stay at the exhibition hotel was excellent. The location, only 3 mins from the minster was great. York not being a terribly big city we were within walking distance of everything. The fact we could park the car on-site, leave it and walk was brilliant. Big thumbs up for the parking space much appreciated and I definitely took parking in to consideration when booking accommodation. The staff were absolutely brilliant all of them. Went out of there way to be helpful and accommodating- big tick there. Breakfast was excellent plenty choice and good portions-another big tick there. In the previous question it asked if I would recommend it to people for a romantic get away. It probably isn’t a romantic getaway destination but I would certainly recommend the exhibition to any one else.

There wasn’t anything negative to report-all good.

What can we say? we loved The Exhibition! We had just got married at Gretna Green & toured Scotland for a few days, before deciding to fit York in on the way back down South. We would definitely stay here again, if (when) we come back to York. There was parking out the back, large beer garden, friendly staff, Breakfast was probably the best we have had in along time. Room was very clean. Loved all the Quirky things in the hallways. So near to everything Visited the JORVIK Viking Centre worth a visit for sure & The Valhalla York Pub, so much to see we need to come back & we for sure will book The Exhibition again For us ... 10/10

Everything was good.

Very good location. Property is extremely clean and well presented. Breakfast was exceptional. Just need to let guests know if they want breakfast early than 9am to ask staff

Very little communication from staff as to when pub was open or closed. This made it difficult to get back to our room when we had gone out during the day or in the evening on a few occasions. Access was definitely and issue and should be addressed. Also at times pub did not offer lunch or evening meals as the kitchen was closed but again this would have been fine if this was communicated. Also need to offer some better bathroom amenities such as conditioner. Bed also needed replacing in our room was starting to sag.

We thought the staff were very pleasant and helpful, also the quirky decor was very nice. It had that traditional pub feel to it, very welcoming. The breakfast was superb with a variety of different options from the kitchen.

The bathroom was dated and wasn't very functional. Shower was not very powerful but we managed ok. We assumed the towels etc would be changed every other day, but we had to ask for fresh towels, may have been our fault as they were not chucked into a pile on the floor for the cleaner which is what is recommended apparently if you want them changed.
