The location is great, there are many places to dine out in walking distance. There's a small kitchen that we can prepare simple breakfast. With the price we pay, it's a good value for money. We stayed for 6 days and it was a good place for our budget.

I think the stove should be updated, we got a portable hot plate that is place on top of the stove. We are not feeling too safe with it. We also used the toaster and each time have to keep fanning the smoke detector that rings the entire time we were making the toasts if we are not fanning near it. The closet could have more hangers but that's a small thing. And I think it gets very dusty very fast because it's close to the train track. The staff is happy to clean the room mid-stay for us and we can ask for fresh towels often too.

Lovely area with beach nearby. Room was nice and equipped with a kitchen and dining table. We found a Vons supermarket about 8-9 mins down the road or you could buy overpriced and restricted options 2 doors down. I recommend Corner Pizza a couple of doors down. The shower looked tidy, although pressure was low and it felt small with the shower curtain trying to stick to your legs while washing yourself. Free parking.

In the middle of the night we heard a train going by and tooting a few times, then again around 7am. There is a bit of traffic outside but I managed with my ear plugs.

You would miss it if you blinked, this is a great little hideaway, peaceful environment, water fountains, chairs to relax in and read. Circa 1920 , there is nothing to bring with you, except for your necessities, and any meals that you may want to prepare. Kitchenette comes supplied with all the basic necessities needed to prepare a meal. I have stayed in two different rooms and I can say the beds are very comfortable along with the pillows. I’ve stayed at a few other places along the coast here and you cannot beat what you get for the price. It is a great deal. Safe environment. Staffing is very helpful and pleasant.

Very cute location in walking distance to many of the shops, restaurants, and cafes in Leucadia. Reasonably priced which allowed us to stay in the area for an extended amount of time. The rooms were cute and clean and had plenty of room.

The showers and mattresses could use a bit of an update. Shower was a bit small for my tall husband and didn't have the strongest water pressure making it take a bit longer to rinse out long hair. Mattress was a bit saggy but I'm also pregnant and my husband is tall so we were already pushing it by sleeping on a queen mattress.

It's a lovely area especially waking, safe area. I love to Walk, and you can walk anywhere to restaurants, shopping, Beaches ( Moonlight Beach is my favorite). And I love walking to Downtown Encinitas.

There's road construction in the hotel area on the 101 hwy, the construction is blocking the U-Turns so it's not easy getting over to where the hotel is. My son lives in the area and gave me an alternative route which brought me to the hotel easier. Parking can be challenging at the hotel. Street parking is an option, but the weekends are busy.

Staff were wonderful, very friendly and communicative. Room was cozy and clean, had everything we needed. Really appreciated the optional add-on for a rollout bed for my toddler. The courtyard was nice and we enjoyed it for sitting outside to have breakfast together in the mornings.

Only thing I wasn’t aware of when booking is that the area is currently undergoing construction, and is very close to a train track. As far as I could tell trains stopped passing by around 10pm or so. Or at least I didn’t hear them after that. Parking was hit or miss, only a few spots available in the courtyard. Usually at least one spot was available but we did have to do street parking instead one night.

- nice neighborhood. A market, good pizza, french bakery only couple minutes. Walk 10 minutes and you get good brewery, sushi, cafes and other spots. All spots were very good and there were many more to try. - Room is clean, no carpets, no dust. - kitchen in the room. we had breakfast with fresh fruit, veggies, bakery, donuts from the neighborhood. - moon light beach is 5 minute driving distance

- bathroom was way too small, this is maybe the only real downside of the room. - The beds are okay, nothing particularly bad but definitely could be more comfy - wifi wasn't good

The room was very clean & comfortable. Towels were better than many I've had; soft & absorbent. Kitchenette was very handy to have & stocked with enough kitchenware for 2. Nearby restaurants were good. We walked over to the beach to watch the surfers. Corner grocer also very convenient. Convenient to the freeway & coast highway so getting around the area was easy. Free parking.

Right across from train tracks so noisy at times, but not enough to be horrible. People upstairs were apparently finishing their daily walking requirements the last night we were there. Glad they weren't doing it the first few nights.

Perfectly located to walk to coffee shops and restaurants and to drive all around SD. The place was clean and cute with a kitchenette. Easy to get new towels even without full service cleaning. Easy check out. Great spot-would stay again!

The only things I wasn’t expecting was the proximity to the train (noise made it hard to fall asleep but eventually stopped around 10pm) and that the beaches at that part of the coast are down several flights of stairs. The reception was supposed to open around 9 but wasn’t usually staffed until later when we were already out and about, so it was difficult to request a housekeeper to change the sheets.

Excellent Value and great location. Near the beaches and within 30 minutes to both San Diego and Oceanside/Carlsbad area. Less 2 miles from Moonlight Beach, one of the best beaches in Southern California. Can walk to restaurants and shops in Encinitas. Great fruit and vegetable market next door. Very clean and comfortable bed. Nice to have a kitchen and save money on eating expenses. Staff flexible when checked out a little late

The name is a bit deceptive because you think you are staying on the beach, where as the beaches are a little further away. Also, for those looking for a luxury resort, this is not the place. The bathroom had a strange layout (there was a mirror to the left of the sink that you couldn’t see yourself in and there was no outlet next to the other mirror in the bathroom making it hard to use the hairdryer and I would think for an electric shaver. The big towels were too small. Trains run later at night and earlier in the morning than I thought they would. They don’t wake you up, but if you are awake and want to fall back asleep, there is a train around 4:30-5 am that is a bit disruptive.
