Elevator was slow

Price, we got this on a "Black Friday" deal and saved a fortune! Really stylish hotel, end your Route 66 with style. Location, just a few minutes walk from a couple of Metro stations and plenty of bus routes. And check out the super coffee shop De La Tierra Cafe a few yards from the hotel...

A lot of homeless persons in the area, a bit intimidating when returning to the hotel in the evening.

Friendly staff. Quiet neighborhood which I liked. No street noise. I read reviews where people complained about the transient people but it was never a problem. They don’t bother you. We were out at 9:00 pm walking. If you’re scared don’t go out or get a cab. Shower is large. They supply shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion so no need to bring anything. They have a pool but we did not use. Looks nice. There’s a courtyard that’s quite nice to sit in. You can ask for a room that has the courtyard view. The restaurant is closed for renos I think. Once that re-opens it will be good. No need to leave the hotel for meals, as there’s not too much around. Grocery store Von’s within walking distance to get food and drinks for breakfast

The only minus for us is the room didn’t have anywhere to hang our bath towels or face/hand towels. We just left them on the counter or shelves in the bathroom. I’m not sure if that’s just our room or if it’s the case for all.

The bed and shower were fantastic, room spacious and clean and the pool area/sun loungers were a great place to escape after a busy day. Car park felt very secure, although was chargeable.

I was under the impression that there was a bar and restaurant, and we had to drive to find breakfast. There was a lot of homelessness as you walked the short distance for the bus stop, and we felt very vulnerable.

Everything but the TV ..

TV ..it's awful..who ever their provider is..the channel selections were so strange. None of the normal channels like ESPN or CNBC..just cbs, NBC, Fox, abc ..the rest of them I've never heard of and the offerings were Awful..such a nice place to stay..with the worst TV service I've ever experienced!

Staff was very helpful and friendly, quiet and clean room. Love that it had a microwave and fridge in the room and breakfast was available for a fee. Love the courtyard that our room over looked. Lovely patio courtyard, has an old world charm. Very close to everything, easy access to bus stop in front of the hotel and two blocks away was metro subway access. We could take the metro bus to many sites, like LACMA, Peterson auto, Tar pits. Subway to Hollywood blvd. Great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and health food grocers like Erewhon and Lassen's.

The hotel was good, some hiccups with the parking you have to pay parking separately $35 dollars per day additional, just make sure they register your vehicle in reception if you don't want to deal with problems when getting out of the hotel.

It was clean and comfortable (the beds were great. I don't know what other reviewers slept on!). Breakfast was lovely. Staff nice. Private sauna was lovely. Nice courtyard.

Private saunas need showers or at least guests given bath robes as had to get dressed, go back to room then shower. There are no tea/coffee facilities anywhere. There is no crockery/cutlery available of you decide to eat in your room. There was a microwave, and I heated up water in a takeaway coffee cup to make hot drinks, the cup kept burning, so it was a fire hazard. Also given no intro to facilities or tours available on arrival, just room key. No seat to sit on balcony, only just outside of it, was a bit weird.

A very smooth check in and overall experience. Our central location aligned with the Hollywood experience we were seeking to have. Wish I took pictures of the room but it was a good size with a nice bathroom and private balcony. The gym was basic but I loved the personal sauna you can reserve. The courtyard was cute and quaint, I sat there after my workout to read/relax.

It would have been nice if parking was included. It’s also no secret that the surrounding areas of Hollywood have changed over time. We also wish the breakfast bistro was cheaper, but they did have a deal: pay for their $25 pass at the front desk and get $35 worth of food from the bistro.

The Hollywood Hotel is perfectly located, has awesome daily parking facilities, sincere staff, beautiful pool area, comfy rooms with good beds -- this was my second stay with HH. I love it that the ice machines work well, as did everything in my room. Also, I feel very SAFE at the HH. The area has its share of homeless folk, but the HH Vermont/Santa Monica area is very walkable. No need to worry about security during your stay. No characters are wandering the halls, and there are no loud parties taking place on the premises, not even the pool area.

The hotel is aging so there are a few dings and scratches on the wall, like any residence does. The lampshades are yellowing just a big. BUT everything is so clean that the boo boos don't matter. I think the housekeepers take pride in their work.
