Overall we had a wonderful experience. The room was very comfortable. We loved hearing the boat horns on the river.

As to breakfast we had to leave before breakfast was served (8am) so we did not get to experience the in-house breakfast hospitality. And apparently our timing was not good to get a voucher, which we couldn't have used anyway since we were leaving before the breakfast venue was open at 7am. The heat/ac is controlled centrally so didn't really seem to be any way simple way of controlling our room only. We closed floor vents and opened windows. Some of the handles/knobs on the windows were missing. Some light bulbs were not working.

The beds were incredibly comfortable and we had tons of space for me and my two kids to stretch out. I loved how large the Bathrooms were and there was a mini fridge in our room which was very appreciated as I had some food in a travel cooler to keep cool. It was perfect walking distance to downtown, unfortunately we stopped on a Monday night and most downtown locations were closed for food on Monday evening, but we still enjoyed the walk around the area.

The room that had the desk/closet in it had a ton of dead bugs and the carpets could probably stand for a good cleaning, they didn't feel unclean, just had lots of staining on them (probably normal wear and tear). In the bathtub, we would have loved a stopper for the water so my kids could take a bath.

Breakfast was lovely: scrambled eggs, bacon, spicy breakfast potatoes, yogurt, berries, coffee/tea, juices. Excellent place to stay. Quiet, calm, easy to find and walkable to everything in the old section of the town, including the excellent restaurants, galleries, boutique shopping, visitor center and the Ohio river. I'd stay here again anytime. The owner was very amiable and made a great breakfast.

Just a small thing -- I mentioned to the owner that the tub hadn't had a stopper so I used a plastic bag. She noted that she had the stopper elsewhere and would have brought it. I think it's best if the stopper is kept in one of the drawers, but I was still able to have a bath so I was happy.

This place is awesome! We reserved one room with 2 queen beds. The a/c was broke in our room, but we were immediately moved to 2 side by side rooms with a queen bed in each as they didn't have another double queen room available. Our rooms shared a huge private balcony with comfortable seating. Nice, quiet neighborhood in the downtown arts district. The bedsheets were luxurious and comfy beds as well. I could go on all day about how great this place was.

I found absolutely nothing to complain about!

This is the best place I've ever stayed in my life. My background is 8 yrs. In the military then 40 yrs. In the trucking industry. I've been all over the world and the USA and I rank Shelley and the Respite Bed & Breakfast the best in the world for me. Thanks Again , The Jones's

The property was beautiful & well-appointed. The breakfasts were wonderful & Shelly & Andrea were delightful. There is also an elevator to the second floor, a definite plus. A second floor porch was a wonderful gathering place. It's located in a lovely section of town, not too far from restaurants, shops, & a river walk. Parking was off-street, but on-street parking was easily available if needed.

Beautiful home, very clean, met the cleaner and the owner, both were very nice. The owner cooked us breakfast one of the days and we used vouchers for local bakeries the other days. Both were fantastic! It was very affordable. We were supposed to be there two nights and ended up staying 4!

The only negative I have is not necessarily a negative. It’s personal preference. The beds we stayed on were firmer than I am used to. My daughter loves a firm bed so she thought they were fantastic!

Loved the location, ease of entry after hours with personal codes, space & comfort of the room. Very appreciative of the breakfast vouchers to Gold Rush Cafe, too!

The only thing that could have been better was the room temperature. It was an unseasonably warm day/night & we were uncomfortably warm in our room & it did not have an individual temperature control option. But, we understood that such is the nature of a historic property that has limited HVAC customization in separate spaces.

The owners are very nice people and responsive to text message with questions for assistance. The place was very clean and great location for walking to the downtown restaurants. We will come back and stay here again as we travel through. The breakfast was very good and a pleasure to visit with other persons while eating. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

The property is large, very clean and bright, and beautifully furnished. All the rooms are large and comfortable. They provided a nice breakfast, and when we wanted to eat one morning outside of the B&B, they provided $10 vouchers for each person to a great breakfast place nearby.

There isn’t a person on site for assistance, but they are very prompt to respond to texts, so it really wasn’t a problem.
