I enjoyed the location and the room. The building was easy to access and clean. The staff was nice and helpful.

I loved everything about the hotel however when traveling the expenses needed to have a room even when not in peak is not ideal. I would love to come back on weekend or during the summer and with the rates, we just can’t afford to do that

Fantastic location - just across the road from a beautiful beach, 10 minute walk from the historic centre of Cape May and just a 5 minute drive from a good sized and well stocked supermarket (Acme). Rooms were a great size. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Clean bed linen, towels and replacement toiletries every day.

I felt for what we paid, the decor was a little tired. The bathroom had wallpaper around the bath area which was peeling and patched - no tiles. The tap was loose in the wall. Painted cupboards were peeling and flaky. The outdoor swimming pool was a great asset but again looked like it could have done with an overhaul (patched in tiles, flaking paint).

The woman who checked us in Tuesday about 3:40pm on June 11 was not welcoming - no smile whatsoever and c/o about us booking through booking.com. She seemed miserable. Observed her several times without a smile !

Front desk person... Juhan was excellent. Good listener, explained all well, professional and kind. Off season price was good. Loved the suite. Front desk including manager very responsive to our request for 12 o clock checkout. Left 11:30 am

After checking in it took us almost 90 minutes to get to room with items falling off the narrow cart. Difficult handling due to not only age but my wife could only use left arm due ti right shoulder. Anyway place is wonderful but navigating to the King Section was difficult We kept saying they should hire some young kids to help with cart and finding room I finally left wife to watch cart and went to front desk to get better directions to the other building/ room We missed time to go to beach and since it was dark we couldn't see ocean from deck. Other than that we were very pleased with accommodations and the staff

Location is right on the beach. They also provide lounge chairs & towels & put them on the location you choose.Indoor & outdoor pools with hot tub & bar available there also. You can also order lunch by pool or beach & they bring it right to you. On-site restaurant Hemingways is really convenient & food/drinks was nice.

My constructive criticism would be to make use of the single serve half & half or Milk, instead of that nasty powdered creamer. They're underestimating the good start to someone's day. One more thing with this and many hotels is the weak water pressure from the shower head.

This was my tenth visit- much better than the last time- everyone is polite, professional & attentive- I didn’t know there was a gift shop, all these visits but it was extremely needed as I forgot items - like out swimsuits !!! The pool is a must for me /reason I love it there. One employee went above & beyond for me , MOD Katie on Christmas Night- she made my holiday plans go through & we had a magical Christmas- all these visits but reason to get out of town & go to the beach for Christmas… Katie deserves a raise or a BIG CASH BONUS-helping the guests like she did !!! You’re lucky to have her!!!!!!

The table staff at the Hemingway Restaurant, its connected to the Grand Hotel, were all very kind and helpful. The food and the drinks were fantastic. The portions were big and all very tasty. Anca made our stay there very good.

Noise from the Up Stairs residents...you can hear them walking back and forth. We were in the second floor which had a cement floor but the one above, the third floor, was wood. I did not like the fact that on day one or four days, the hotel charged me $130 additional dollars for a beach tag that came undone from its holder on its own at no fault of mine. I thought that was a bit unfair. It did not matter that I spent $2000 for 4 days. Lastly, parking is very limited. You may have to wait for a spot.

The staff was very friendly and prompt! We had an issue with our room's A/C. After calling for help, a technician came by immediately to help fix the problem and someone from the front desk did a follow-up call with us. Both pools and locker room and bathrooms were clean and they stocked clean towels by the pool areas. We got beach chairs and umbrella complimentary which was great! Beach was just across the street from the hotel. Get there early, before noon otherwise they run out of chairs.

The two-bedroom rooms were a lot smaller than advertised in property photos. The kitchen refrigerator was smaller than a standard hotel room, so there wasn't much space to store basic food items for cooking. Also, no wine glasses or glassware in the kitchen which was unusual for a suite type room. The restaurant wasn't willing to offer-up glasses either which was annoying. They said to by them in the gift shop. They were $15 a glass.

Indoor pool and hot tub was a great amenity for the one night of our trip of inclement weather. The outdoor pool and beach passes (which granted us chairs and an umbrella with no hassle) was amazing for the rest of our stay. The location was nice and made everything walkable (we’re New Yorkers so maybe we are just used to walking, LOL); everything was walkable by 10-15 minutes or so.

The hotel itself seems more family forward and the room above us had kids who were up at 8am and very noisy. Not really the property’s issue but the only thing I can think of.

I would definitely stay here again. The room was perfectly sized. Our kids used the fold-out sleeper sofa in the main room, and we had the private bedroom so everyone was happy with the sleeping arrangements. The room came with a fridge, microwave, toaster and single burner. Plates and cooking utensils/silverware were included (although we brought our own paper plates/cups/silverware). There was also two sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom, which was great for two people getting ready at once. The hotel not only had an outdoor pool but an indoor one with hot tub, which our kids used every night from 8pm until 10pm closing time. It gave them something to do after dinner and they looked forward to it each night. We went Labor Day weekend, and while the outdoor pool was busy, the indoor one was barely used at night.

My only complaint was that the hotel did not provide beach towels to those guests utilizing the two included beach lounge chairs that you picked up each day at the beach. Plus, they charged a fee if you wanted a beach umbrella to use with the free lounge chairs, which I found ridiculous. Every other place I stayed at Cape May directly across from the beach allotted chairs and an umbrella at no fee. So, remember to bring your own towels and umbrella.
