A very good value. Huge rooms, comfortable bed. The restaurant isn’t bad, and the bartender took food orders and bused tables, a very hard worker. Would stay again
Alss, the Shilo’s glory days are behind her. The hotel is very worn around the edges. Carpeting needs replacing, the wifi is weak, & decor is right out of the 80’s, but if you’re ok with that, a good place to stay before a flight.

The room was huge - So spacious and the housekeeping efforts are very noticeable and much appreciated! Every staff member I met was courteous, super friendly, task oriented and do go above and beyond. Coming from a hospitality background myself, I highly commend the team and this made my heart sing.
There’s not much to dislike about the property itself. One must understand that this is an old building and was once the Shilo Inn, so it does not look polished or anything from the outside. The inside is old school - yet the level of cleanliness outshines all that. As there was a kitchenette area, it would have been nice to have a kitchen linen so not to use the hand/face towels.

My stay was extended by 6 days! For the value, you get a lot such as a very large room, king-size bed, a kitchenette that involves a small coffee maker, fridge, sink, and microwave. In the back of the building is a dog run/park. Each floor had vending machines that had a change in drinks or snacks it was worth a check out if you need a walk or want to explore. I brought my little fur baby and the Front Desk / General Manager was able to discount the price due to the size of my pet.
Housekeeping can be difficult; I requested for housekeeping to come on 2 different occasions at the front desk as my initial request was not fulfilled per the front desk stating they were limited on staff my request was to change bed sheets, towels, and trash. They never came which is very difficult for the 3 mini-size trash cans. The pool and spa area were not available during my stay, and the fitness center looked like they weren't cleaned after each use. The room that I was in had a bathtub that didn't properly drain, and the socket plugs were iffy (when you plug something in, it just comes out so some of the lights or lamps were not able to properly work for their intended purpose). Some of the exiting doors weren't locking which allows patrons to enter the building without key cards.

These are big rooms and overall very comfortable. I loved the little kitchenette area and separate living room. It's definitely dated and I think they're going to be remodeling it soon. It is a great value right now and considered a budget hotel. Hopefully they won't raise the prices too much! There is no food service so don't expect that. It used to be a Shilo inn.
They seem to be severely understaffed. Check in took longer than it should have and I was ignored and interrupted by phone calls while I was trying to check in. There was nobody else at the desk but one poor girl. I always feel annoyed with owners when they don't hire enough people and it's just not safe for one person to be running a big motel front desk like that. * And, when I left my charger the manager never returned my phone call or sent me my charger as I requested. I was disappointed in the lack of follow-through with the forgotten charger.

The room was very large, it was so spacious. (We got a king bed with sleeper sofa for the kids, which was partially partitioned off into a living room area). The price was great (we booked through a third party, they might have had some extra rooms they needed to offload). The king bed was comfy. The AC worked well and kept the room cool. It was clean and the carpets looked very new. Some other things were not updated, but we were so happy with the room anyway!
There was an issue with the shower, my husband said there was some trick and the kids had a hard time getting the hang of it. When the lights went on in the bathroom, it made a loud noise, like maybe a very loud fan came on with it. The kids said the sleeper sofa mattress was not as comfy, but I think they are like that everywhere we go.

Everyone was kind and accommodating. Location is great.
I came for the sauna and steam room and both were out of order. Super bummed. But things happen out of the control of the people working there. I understand. Also the phone would randomly ring at all hours of the night and day. No one was on the line when answered. Also random knocks on the door and no one was at the door. Definitely haunted but ghosts aren't angry with me so they were not mean or anything. Just annoying.

We loved our King Suite. We weren't expecting to have so much room to relax and move around. It was very clean. We asked for a bathtub and a non-pet friendly room and they accommodated BOTH! I ordered dinner to go in the Bella's Restaurant and the food was very good. The only problem I had was the blow dryer was broken and when I called the Front Desk the phone just rang and rang at least 10-15 rings so I hung up. I had to leave so I did not get it resolved. Otherwise it was one of the biggest nicest hotel rooms we've ever stayed at.
Blow dryer issue mentioned above. Not critical but an inconvenience.

This is one of my absolute favorite hotel to stay at in Portland. The employees are always incredibly accommodating and friendly. They were even kind enough to let me stay in my room for an extra hour or so as I was waiting for a ride to the airport. The front desk is almost always staffed by someone understanding and helpful. I also LOVE that they have a 24hr pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness center (although not the most impressive equipment.)
My only complaint would be that the last 3 times I've stayed there the pool and hot tub have been completely closed off and unaccessible due to some apparent "roof damage" - which nobody seems to be in much of a rush to fix at all. So that's been super disappointing and hopefully someone gets on top of it soon! Other than that, awesome big rooms and great staff. Oh and some kind of breakfast included in the stay would be nice.

The room was extra clean and very large. Check-in was quick and the evening staff was very pleasant. Wi-Fi had a strong signal and fast. The price was reasonable for the features that were available.
Room #122, TV remote did not work properly. There were no USB plug-ins on any of the lamps as you usually find in rooms. Not enough empty wall outlets for computer / cell chargers. No free airport shuttle, but they'll call a Lyft. No onsite food or breakfast available, but the is a Burger KIng and a McDonalds near by.

The rooms are large plenty of space for service dog and 2 people. Bed was comfortable. AC worked great. Good area to walk the dog and close to fast food, restaurant, and shopping. Also, close to public transit services.
The facility is older and in need of some TLC. Some staff were exceptional and some need some customer service training or experience. We were moved from one room to another over a toilet issue. Which was no big deal. Overall, decent place to stay.
