🌷This little gem is absolutely the cutest, coziest and most thoughtful place we have ever stayed!! Every single detail…the beautiful flowers; the delicious food; the perfect collection of books, video games, board games & huge floor games; the calming pool, sauna & hammock areas; the kind messages & darling decor everywhere you look; the extra sweet staff and it’s pup-friendly! I can’t give this place enough stars!! Perfectly located in Custer, central to many restaurants, activities and parks! Do yourself a favor, and the next time you’re in the Black Hills, stay here at the Bavarian Inn!!🌷

Nothing!!

The hotel has a nice comfortable setting. Pretty pool and a pickle ball court and nice chairs on your patio to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. The breakfast in the cafe was good and the staff were very pleasant. It was a perfect place to stay for visiting and touring Jewel Cave early the next morning. Quite frankly, it was probably the best hotel Custer had to choose from after looking at the competition.

First, it is an older hotel, although well maintained for the age. The walls are thin and it is dog friendly in ALL the rooms. If you have allergies it is not the place for you. We had barker next to us and I did complain. Also the inside windows on the door of our room were full of dog slobber 3 feet high. I complained about that as well and was provided with cleaning product and towel to clean the windows. (I did not charge them for that service) They did address the two issues, which we appreciated.

This hotel is wonderful. The staff is great, the property is so cute, clean and well maintained. There are so many details that do not go unnoticed! The location is so convenient and easy access to everything. The pools are nice. We did the nighttime cookies and milk for our last night and it was just the cutest thing! It really is the little things! The cafe on the property is great. Good food and drinks and also wonderful staff. Rooms are also clean, fridges and microwaves, nice beds and pillows.

I absolutely loved staying here. The room was bright and clean and inviting. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Extra bonus points for the exceptional service of the staff. I made a mistake with my booking, and the owner fixed it on his end without any hassle. The rest of the staff were happy and friendly. This is not a chain hotel. It is very personal and warm. The decor is so cute. We are planning a return trip to the area and we will be staying here!

Very cute property and in a great area in Custer. The staff was very nice and we appreciated their hospitality during our stay.

Only issue I had was that the bathtub was not clean. There were at least 5 longer dark hairs that did not belong to myself or partner. There was also an old bar of soap in there. I did tell someone the next morning and was told to put the request in the basket for that but was not at the facility so I could not. No one came in to clean it after that conversation.

Clean - we had stayed there before and expected the same - it nearly was!

I especially checked the internet for complimentary breakfast and the internet said there was when in fact there was not. This is one thing we consider important so we don't have to leave early for breakfast - you DID NOT IN FACT serve complimentary breakfast The other thing we counted on was the BAVARIAN INN RESTAURANT - well it is gone and the replacement does not meet our criteria for evening meals

Nice room though at first they had us on the upper level which is only accessible by stairs which we would have had a difficult time negotiating. We asked for the lower floor and they were accommodating. Property is laid out well. Restaurant is on the property and has great breakfast food. Very friendly.

Restaurant is closed after 11 am. We checked out after one night and left for home to beat the weather. We didn’t get any refund because we registered for two nights and both nights were charged upfront.

I will say, the staff were extremely friendly. Engaging in conversation. It was a motel type of set-up. No hallways. It was close to town. Did have to drive, which was fine. Breakfast was the next building over. It had a "cool" vibe to the entire grounds. The room was very clean. Nothing fancy.

Really, the door to go outside you felt a little exposed until you shut the blinds and drapes. We were on the the first floor. It was fine though.

The property was very kid friendly, and even though we had no children with us, we have always enjoyed a kid friendly property since we are grandparents and would love to take our kids back there with us at some point.

The room was very tiny, and the facility seemed older. They were keeping it up, pretty well, but booking.com charged us so much extra for the room that it was ludicrous! When we checked with the owners, the room was about $100 less if booked directly through them. I’m very upset at booking.com for charging us this extra amount. I understand they have to make money and charging extra is expected but we paid almost $100 extra for a tiny room. It was as much as a room that we just had, which was quite nice, in New York City.

This was our favorite place to stay near Mount Rushmore and Deadwood. Decorated in a Bavarian theme, the property offers both an indoor and outdoor pool, comfortable beds, outdoor seating, and is very clean.

Breakfast was advertised to have been included in the price but although it is offered at the Bavarian Cafe next door, and was very good, it was not free, nor even discounted for hotel guests. Except to pay about $10 per person for breakfast.
