My husband and I stayed at The Tides Inn while in town for a wedding, and we absolutely fell in love with The Tides Inn. We ended up with a water view room with a veranda. We really enjoyed watching the sunrise on our first morning there. It was absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. The staff was really inviting and friendly and very helpful with suggestions. They were also very accommodating. We arrived right around the time of our dinner reservation at Salt & Meadow. They were very nice and were willing to move it back a couple of minutes, so we could change before going to dinner. The property is absolutely stunning. I love how they connect with the ecosystem and environment of the Chesapeake Bay. While we were there, we had already decided to book another room for our anniversary in November, that's how much we loved it. We hope to make The Tides Inn a reoccurring destination for us, especially when we want a wonderful weekend away.

The only thing that was a little difficult was that the internet wasn't great, but they have free wifi, but either way, just be prepared for a slower internet when you go.

We have been driving down from Gordonsville, Virginia, to meet friends at the Tides Inn for lunch for several years, and this year, it worked out for us to stay. Everything was impeccable. Classic Southern resort pampering at its best.

We would like to have seen a couple of dinner options for guests needing less of a gourmet experience to go with the expert gourmet dishes offered at Salt & Meadow. I'm adventurous, but my husband isn't so much. Being able to choose steak or fish simply grilled with a simple side like summer roasted vegetables or asparagus to go with the potato puree would have been nice. We had lunch at Salt and Meadow but not dinner. We had dinner at Fish Hawk and a lunch too but would have preferred a fine dining experience at S&M for dinner. We still enjoyed our stay, and going forward, when meeting our friends who live in Kilmarnock, we will treat ourselves to a stay at the Tides Inn.

The Tide's Inn is a wonderful property. Breakfast on the veranda overlooking the creek on a crisp November mooring was idyllic. We greatly appreciated the hired boat ferry from Tide's Inn across the Rappahanock river to Urbanna for the famous Oyster Festival - special thanks to Cape Puddin'. Will be excited to see the renovations in the dining room when completed over the winter. Food was excellent in the restaurant, but the ambiance could be upped a bit.

There were two room service trays left outside of rooms for well over 24 hours in the out building where our room was. That should never happen at a resort like the Tides Inn.

Vista Suite was excellent, room was clean, well maintained. Valet parking was great. All staff encountered were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. All made our short stay very pleasant

Only complaint, and a minor one, was that our suite, room 209, was immediately above the restaurant and bar. We could hear the base music in our room all evening up until midnight. While it wasn't very loud, it was annoying enough to disturb sleep at times.

The views around the resort were magnificent! The staff were all so attentive and helpful. There were many comfortable sitting areas all around the resort and outside, we always had privacy from other guests. We loved our stay

Our room with two queen beds was very small, we are a family of five but we managed.

Spectacular property and gardens, restaurant venues, beach on a creek, pool atmosphere and Fish Shack, Rm 317 with its view and new bathroom, breakfast food and service

The uninspiring dinner menu and food prep the Fri night before July 4 4-day weekend;perhaps chefs were given the night off.

Breakfast was great; however, dinner not so much.

The service at the Chesapeake Restaurant was poor. We waited nearly 30 minutes to be served. Once served, they brought me the wrong meal and charged me with a drink I hadn't ordered. It was a total mess.

It’s very secluded and quiet.

Location is off the beaten path. Not a bad thing, but had to drive to attractions in the area. It’s too far to walk from the property.

The views were outstanding from the standard non-balcony river-facing rooms. Unless its a suite, the balcony rooms appear to have partially obstructed views of the water, so we were exceedingly happy with our non-balcony choice. The large room off the lobby is beautiful and a great place to relax with friends; the Keurig coffee in the room is a cut above the standard Keurig machine and the selection of coffees and teas was excellent.

We knew there would be a $40+T resort fee, which includes the pool (unheated), beach, gym, and truly lovely grounds. We were disappointed to learn that other amenities, such as kayyaks, sunset boat ride, etc would be extra on top of the resort fee. But that was not a big inconvenience. Also, one of the restaurants was non-operational.

Everything! Absolutely beautiful resort! Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Special shot out to Robert. Can’t wait to return.

Only minor complaint was an old Nespresso cup was left. Otherwise perfection.
