Front desk was professional and extremely accommodating. Lovely views of the green pool area from a nice room with balcony. Breakfast was ample and a great value with many selections available. I prefer the more luxurious hotel experience and Red Lion hits all the bells and whistles for me. It is an older property but with that comes period charm, more space, better beds and high-flow showers and toilets, an amazing array of pillows and an old-school approach to customer service which is personable and friendly. You will notice during conventions next door that this place fills up very quickly, and at other times appears empty. It is thriving and the bar has also been reopened--an extremely classy place to drink and dine. Definitely a Yakima highlight that I have patronized at least four times now, once with friends from out of town who needed a comfortable, classy place to stay on a long trip. My highest recommendation.

The irrigation system for the property is heavily damaged and doesn't water the property well at all. Even though it comes on automatically, pipes are broken and plants are dying in place all over. The pool area isn't very well attended with trash and towels which tend to accumulate or go missing. The property in back has a somewhat sketchy feel as if one might not want to park back there, but over four visits I have had no problems with break-ins or with the street element (it is Yakima, after all). Overall, just a few things to attend to in order to make a world-class property.

Absolutely loved having a slider door to a patio and out to the grass to walk my dog. It was so nice to not have to go all the way down the halls and back just to potty pets. The bed was super comfortable, the room was a great size.

It could use some updating, and the area is a little rough. A few of the doors seemed a bit worn, they could be replaced to feel more safe. A couple more garbage cans would be nice, and chairs for the patio. Other patios had chairs & a little table but ours didn’t unfortunately.

Huge and comfortable clean room with fully functional equipment. The staff was really nice.

We had a common door with the next room that made the soundproofing really poor and we could hear the kids running, talking and the tv as well. The night of our stay the hotel was hosting a quinceanera, and we could hear the music even when f it was in the other building… Shower had a too powerful stream and the shower head was not easy to manipulate Some inconveniences that don’t change our feedback: it’s a nice hotel

The front desk receptionists were very pleasant and friendly, and everything looked very nice inside the lobby. I also loved having Free parking and that it was easily accessible to my room. For the most part my room looked clean.

The back entrance to the building my room was located in, can use a little more cleaning (e.g. windows, walkway, etc.). My room looked nice, except the toilet bowl and seat didn’t look thoroughly clean, not sure if those were permanent stains, or could have used extra cleaning. My sheets were inside out, so it caused me to think, maybe they were just turned over after the last customers stay. I’m hoping that’s not true, and the workers were just in a hurry.

The hotel is in a good location close to the downtown and some nice new bars and restaurants. At first impression this is a very large hotel which is slightly frayed at the edges but the room was very quiet and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to park our car outside the room which was useful. We only stayed one night and as it was warm and light we took advantage of walking a few blocks to a nice restaurant in the downtown. A few dodgy characters about but they didn't bother us.

It was ok for one night.

Room was large, clean, and had good amenities.

The hair dryer in bathroom did not work and the $10 fee for breakfast was not good value. Most hotels offered more for their customers for breakfast for free. There was not as much offered as pictured on the website, no waffles or pancakes, and the attendant kept hovering over the food area and tables. was not good value for money at all. I stayed for 3 nights and only ate breakfast the first morning. Went to Denny's after that and had better breakfast for cheaper cost.

Clean and easy to find

When I checked I was told I had not booked an ADA room and our room would be on second floor with no elevator. Also I had a pet and the room was not for pets. I have a SERVICE Dog and she is not classified as a pet. Desk person told me they were full and could not accommodate us. He finally did find a room but had to charge me more for less I was tired after a long day on road and accepted it. No bars in shower and it was a bit slippery, scary for husband who is pre surgery for hip replacement.

Price was right, comfortable bed, comfortable room, quiet. Location was nice and close to the highway for a quick getaway in the morning. Wish we had a chance to use the pool.

The shower head was wonky, just a narrow heavy stream. I also found a condom wrapper next to the bed, which starts you wondering if they missed that, what else didn’t they clean.

I liked the convenience to the convention that we were participating in.

The toilet seat was loose so it moved around as I was doing my business. The refrigerator froze our food ruining it even though We kept turning it down. Phone was not working so the first night I was kept awake all night by the people upstairs above our room. Ice machine on our floor didn't work, and the pool was green & disgusting looking. Granted it was too cold to swim but the pool should have been covered.

Our room was just right, I liked being able to park right at our door. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was a little sparse and took awhile for the items to be restocked, but could be because it was a very busy weekend with many young team activities in town.
