kind enough for upgraded my room from economy to 2 queen beds room. Despite located at a very high floor, the room is well maintained, clean bathroom, new refrigerator, heater and hair dryer. So happy with the hospitality of the staffs and thank you for the umbrella. very thoughtful on sudden non-stop rain in the city during summer.

Perhaps the entrance door can be kept opened or changed to a lock with scrollable digits, so it won't trouble the owner to have interrupted sleep just to open it when someone returning late.

The beds were super soft. So far the softest in all of Vietnam. The room was large and clean and quiet. We had a room on the 4th floor. The accommodation itself also offers a laundry service for 40,000d per kilo.

Unfortunately, old air conditioners are still installed on the 4th floor, which were very loud. Sleeping was troublesome with this noise pollution and even with earplugs the air conditioning was still very audible. On the third floor are already new. So just ask in the booking if you can be accommodated on the 3rd floor.

Amazing location, finding it initially was abit difficult as its through a small gate then about 15 meters down an alley, hence the name 'hidden guest house' but we were very happy there and extended out stay. Staff were very friendly and helped with all our needs, cleaned our room, and had a laundry service. Great for backpacking couples.

Couldn't open the windows, but loved the balcony. The room needs a lamp, the room is dark and the light is extreme when turned on.

Modern and clean, good facilities including hair dryer, fridge, wardrobe space and kettle. Our first two nights spent here, we lucked out and got the top room with an awesome view and big windows all around (only downside- lots of steps if you don’t like steps). For our second stay we stayed in the ground floor annexe like room. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. On our last day in Hanoi they allowed us to use the shower in the reception after our gym session and before our overnight bus, so we were super grateful! And ideal location of course.

There is a minor ant problem (just don’t leave any food out and use the fridge), the pressure in the top room was not great, and the bottom room had no windows. But none of these things were a huge concern to us.

Beautiful old wooden house near the Old Quarter and lake and not far to the Temple of Literature and Koto restaurant. Friendly helpful staff and very clean and comfortable accommodation with aircon. It is truly hidden away in a small street and down a dark little alleyway, but the staff come out to show you the way if you catch their shuttle. It is fairly quiet being off the street.

The access down alleyway was quite dingy but thats a fairly minor thing. Making travel arrangements was a very long process, even booking a taxi. Harley is the only one who can speak English well. So Google translate was needed, but the staff did do their best to help.

I found this place really charming, and very good value for the price. It’s quite a grand old building, with high ceilings, wood-panelled rooms and (in the case of most rooms) little balconies overlooking the neighbours - all of which gives it (in my view) more character than you’d find in other hotels on a similar budget. In some places you can see signs of age but to me that just added to the character. I also liked that in order to get there you had to go through a tiny alley, past a big family who lived next door and were often dining or putting up laundry outside! Really feels like you’re tucked away from the tourist crowds, even though you’re right in the heart of the Old Quarter. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spotlessly clean There are limited facilities and services as you’d expect for this price, but you can get laundry done, and even though the staff don’t speak much English they were super friendly and helpful (allowed me to leave my bags with them for hours before check-in and after check-out etc) In my opinion definitely the place to stay if you’re looking for an affordable hotel in Hanoi centre!

Nothing!

This place is amazing! Located in the best part of the old town, it is still hidden away in a quiet side street. It is an old house with a lot of charme. The beds are really comfy too and the little balcony is intreaging. But the best is part is the staff: Didi was such a big help and the friendliest person I have met in Vietnam. I would come back any time. Thank you so much for having us! :)

The house is old and has some stains etc. But that is part of the charme:) also, for the price it is still such a bargain!

It truly is a hidden guesthouse, but nicely located in Old Quarter which means it is easy to get around by foot. The Hoan Kiem river is just a few mins walk and at night, you can easily get to the streets of night market, "party street" etc. Because it was cold, no aircond was needed (not sure if there is heater though), but it was a good stay PS, highly recommend to book a pick up from airport with them as Grab is hard to get upon arrival and taxi costs a lot, about 500k dong

- Location; quiet area that’s only a short walk to the lake and other main areas. Great dessert place opposite. Ignore comments about the alleyway, it’s really not that bad. You wan past a restaurant and into the courtyard - not scary at all! - Very friendly family - Comfortable bed - Good AC - Great sized room with a desk and chair - TV - Water available from reception

- Hot water; we didn’t have hot water for a few days because we weren’t aware of a hot water switch - there needs to be a sign for this to avoid the problem - A gecko in the old AC unit kept us up for a couple of nights - Property Policy details state cash only, so I went out of my way to do 2 cash withdrawals, only to find that we could have actually paid by card. This needs updating
