To stay with Mama Kim was a part of the holiday experience we will remember forever! She is such a warm person with the best energy. She makes excellent food, and it feels like a home away from home. She barely speaks English, but gestures and Google translate manages almost everything, and her daughter who speaks English is available on WhatsApp. It it was it it, don’t expect any luxury, but the experience is so worth it! Mama Kim will always be in our hearts ❤️.

Mama Kim's Homestay is a lovely way of getting out into nature and away from buzzing Hoi An. Mama Kim offers a variety of activities through her neighbors, and there are a good amount of affordable restaurants for lunch right nearby. We learned about village life, made some friends, and had many interesting conversations with the ineffable Mama Kim (with the help of Google Translate, which worked fine). We enjoyed having breakfast and dinner with fellow travelers at the Homestay. We relied on the motorbike drivers who initially drop you off at the Homestay to get around the island (esp. Rāy Ông Bàng, which has great food & coffee and serves as a home base for nicer beaches). Rarely met this many nice people in just 2.5 days, which felt like a lifetime away from stress. We hope to be back one day!

There was nothing we disliked about the Homestay. Just book your boat tickets to Cham Island a couple of days in advance--Mama Kim's daughter (Kim) can help via WhatsApp. Otherwise, we just went with the flow and had a great time. Thank you, Mama Kim!

By far the best homestay I’ve stayed at in my entire life. The amounts of love we got from mama kim kept away any trace of homesickness. This truly felt like my new home. She cooked way too much food for us, just like my own grandma. And the food was great. The greatest I’ve had in Vietnam. Everyone should go to Smile Island!

The amazing location, the village is very calm, safe beautiful and tranquil. Somewhere to lose yourself in a book for a few days of peace and calm. Sotting reading by the waves in the beautiful air. Mama’s cooking is amazing, she’s very kind and despite her limited English she’ll make you feel right at home. The people in the village are all so kind happy and friendly, I cannot recommend a few nights visit here enough.

nothing - the property was perfect for us. be aware it is secluded and it is a laid back Homestay not the ritz - don’t come expecting to much, lean in to the island life and you’ll love it.

Staying at Mama Kim’s house was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. She is super welcoming and sweet, made sure we had everything we needed and more. Her food and tea was excellent and it was so nice coming home to her meals after relaxing on the beach. She also arranged for us to go snorkeling which was a lot of fun. Kim is also very helpful with booking transportation from the mainland to the village on the island. I am very happy we chose to stay with Mama Kim, it has been the highlight of our Vietnam trip! Unfortunately we had to leave early due to bad weather coming up, so I would recommend checking that out beforehand.

We had a delightful stay! Mama Kim was always looking out for us to ensure we had everything we needed. She was very resourceful in communicating despite our limited Vietnamese. We enjoyed a lovely home-cooked meal & she was able to accommodate dietary requirements (vegan). Kim also helped us to book the boat tickets - we would recommend this, it was very easy!

In a stunning location Mama Kim is the most welcoming and friendly host you can find. Comfortable beds with good air conditioning we felt at home instantly. Mama Kim cooks amazing food, some of the best we’ve had in Vietnam. If you come to Cham Island this is the only place you should be choosing. If I could rate it 11/10 i would.

Mama Kim is the best host ever. She does not speak a good English but she understand everything and was of great help to rent scooter or give some infos. Her daughter Kim is always available for you on WhatsApp (with excellent English). Do not miss the breakfast and the dinner: mama Kim is a excellent cook. Just try! I would definitively go back there !

Mamma Kim and the Homestay has been the highlight of our one month long Vietnamese trip. Cham island is paradise, like a place time forgot. Mama Kim is just like a mum, so warm and friendly and THE most amazing cook!! Rooms and bathroom spotlessly clean with lovely cotton sheets and good air con. The locals are lovely too. Beaches are like something out of a movie set. Completely deserted with emerald green water.

One of the best host, we have ever met! We hade two amazing day in Island Smiles Home stay this summer. Mama Kim is very nice, and her food is super delicious, there are always vegetarian option too!! The room is cozy and Kim is very healpfull. Without her healp, we could have never visit this beautiful island. They healpd us, in everything from booking the right boat to choose the most beautiful beaches. You can choose some relly good activites here.( The early morning SUP tour was one of our favoutite experience during our full Vietnam trip!) If you are looking for an authentic Vietnamese experience, this is your homestay! Absolutley reccommended
