I will be honest, I was disappointed with the breakfast. The night before my son and I were excited about the breakfast buffet we saw on the video on the website. When we got to the dining room area we discovered it really wasn't a thing except for special occasions when we were told by our server. He came off a bit rude. My son settled for a glass of water and I ate a midas plate.

A friendlier waiter. I encounter many employees during my 3 day stay. The front desk was great, the bartenders were fun to talk to and even got a chance to talk to Steven Villarreal, the Sales and Marketing Director. Nice man. The maintenance man was also friendly

The hotel was gorgeous, comfortable, and very clean. It has a rustic feel to it. The scenery was breathtaking, and the entire hotel was spacious and felt very safe.

For the hotel being as grand as it is, I expected the front desk staff to have more personality and better customer service skills. However, this was not the case. I engaged with 2 different front desk clerks, and both had very bland attitudes, barely spoke or smiled, and sadly, it seemed like they were just not in the right field to be the first impressions of the hotel. There needs to be more interaction with guests. Explain the good things about the hotel to us. Tell is what's exciting nearby. Tell us SOMETHING aside from just our room number.

Early check in was allowed - at no extra cost. Breakfast was simple. Service was good but there should have been a breakfast menu - there were no extras offered, such as cereal, fruit, or yoghurt. Our room was upgraded to an inner courtyard room overlooking the pool. Excellent location for a visit to the fabulous SALT restaurant right opposite.

Happy Hour Margaritas were premixed in a bottle - so you could not actually see the contents and whether they were genuine or not.

This property is absolutely beautiful

I booked a king room with a courtyard view but because they were overbooked, I was placed in a double room. It wasn’t the same as the room I booked which had a full couch and a balcony with chairs yes I was charged the same price. I was given two free drink for the inconvenience which I appreciated but there has to be a better way to book rooms and to know you’re getting what you booked.

Everyone was super nice. We had a blast with the bartenders. Everything was clean. The only thing is, we didn't get towels when we asked for them. Front desk asked when we checked in if we wanted cleaning service the next day. I said no, just towels. We NEVER got them. Also, the room was VERY SMALL. But we were ok anyway.

My room was too small. Not sure if that's what I reserved to be honest. Also, the fact that they don't have continental breakfast. Because the restaurant is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.

Beautiful atmosphere with tropical vibes. It was so nice to wake up to the view of many palm trees and the pool. Breakfast and coffee was delicious. The rooms were spacious. There are so many great restaurants just less than 10min walk. It was so relaxing to just walk to Birdies for breakfast, try neve coffee, eat dinner at SALT. Enjoyed our staycation in the RGV. We would definitely do it again. Very polite staff.

The hotel needs more up upkeeping and maintenance overall.

Location is good! The bed was comfortable and the esthetics was beautiful.

The Front Desk could have more helpful on explaining how to get to our room more thoroughly. Our truck was too big for the parking garage. We did not know there was a height limit, so we had to back all the way back down the entrance in a big truck. We had to go back in to see where it was permittable for us to park. A little frustrating, see we had a late check-in.

Very great customer service. They helped me when I didn’t like the room and switched me without a problem (I wanted a higher floor). Also, I forgot something in the room and helped me get it back easily. A very comfortable and nice hotel.

They had a problem with the hot water and we didn’t have it during our on day stay. They let us know but still was very inconvenient.

The property is over 100 years old - it’s absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully built and designed. The hotel restaurant was delicious 😋- the bar was wonderful they make what ever you want- no menu! My favorite thing was the bedding- amazing down filled pillows and duvet - and the bed was so comfy! Our room had French doors that opened to courtyard and pool. Jazz music 🎶 serenaded us to sleep.

The parking garage could use a little TLC.🥹

Staff was SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. They had just lost a long-term staff member to death, but maintained great service and attitude anyway. Beautiful courtyard and pool area. Great free parking. Great restaurant with a detail to flavor and presentation. The bed was clean and comfortable.

The room had just a small area on the floor that the vacumn cleaner had missed, but other than that, it was clean.
