Good value resort. Beautiful colours and plants everywhere. Comfortable and clean accommodation. Easy access to town via cheap, fast reliable shuttle bus that you just phone for. Easy walk to town with lovely shops and restaurants and gorgeous nearby beach. Free laundry facilities. Lending library & Dvds. Great communication from booking with questions answered within 24 hours from UK. They booked all our trips and transport to/from airport in advance and we didn’t have to pay until we got there.

The Pink Flamingo is unique and colourful. Built in a lush tropical location. It's peaceful, the birdlife is amazing. I also love that the cabins are self contained and have outside showers. Also they have a lovely tropical pool and an honour bar. The best thing is that it's an adult only accommodation within a good location. The staff are friendly. Great place to stay.

I last stayed about 9 years ago. It has become a bit run down since. I had a faulty window shutter and the outdoor shower drain blocks up when you shower, and the toilet is really low. Apart from that all they really need to is give it a coat of fresh paint and maintain the gardens a bit more. But as I said it is a great place to stay with loads of character and energy.

My wife and I were really delighted with our "villa" at the Pink Flamingo. We both felt that our "villa" and the entire establishment had just the right style for a place in the tropics: an abundance of trees, palms, flowering plants; villas (or "bungalows" or "cabins" -- whatever the term) which are simple and open in design and boast broad windows, doors, and patios; accommodation which is thoroughly private thanks to garden walls and plants. Both my wife and I were very pleased to escape conventional, rectangular "efficient" international hotel rooms like those we have stayed in many many many times before. Fortunately, while our "villa" was tropical in spirit and feel, it was also very comfortable with an excellent, very large bed, air-conditioning, well-equipped kitchen area, TV and video, WiFi, closet, and sufficient furniture. In any case, the features that we liked the most were the privacy, the trees, the plants and flowers, the outdoor seating area and the outdoor shower. Let me add only that Sam assisted us very effectively in planning our visits to Daintree and to the Great Barrier Reef. The availability (at no additional cost) of clothes washers and dryers was also very welcome. Parking is not a problem.

We very much liked the informal style of the hotel as well as the do-it-yourself approach. (There is no daily housekeeping; there's an honour system for paying for the cold drinks that are available at the pool.) Some travellers might not be comfortable with that style. It certainly is possible to walk to town from the Pink Flamingo but it does take 20 minutes or more.

The tropical gardens are lovely and the pool was great they had an honesty bar near pool which was well stocked. Bed was comfortable and the place was clean. It was great that we could take our dog with us and the back yard was secure. They even had dog bowls and towel and blanket which we didn’t use as we had our own but it’s a great thought. Candles supplied for outside and mozzie spray. Very quiet and peaceful a good place to relax. If you are looking for somewhere to take the dog and relax definitely worth a visit and was good value. We will be visiting again sometime.

Is a little dated but honestly did not bother us. A little bit out of town centre but only a short drive.

The place was great! Very spacious, even better than in the pictures. Outdoor area was very nice, great for outdoor meals and relaxing in the hammock. The indoor area was great too, very good ventilation, didn't even have to use the AC. Fully equipped kitchen was really good as we were mostly cooking our own meals. The place has a nice vibe and had everything we needed. Great check in experience as well. We arrived after hours and received very clear instructions on how to get to the property, where to park, etc.

This was a quiet, clean, friendly, perfect place for a week long getaway. The room was everything we needed. The pool was amazing and the honour bar, a real plus! The BBQ was great for when we wanted to cook at the resort to save some cash, or have a quiet night in. Love the retro theme details and vibe. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped us out quickly and with no fuss. Would highly recommend it.

Absolutely loved this place. We enjoyed our retro look apartment with ktchen facilities. We really appreciated the totally private outdoor area and outdoor shower. The bed was huge and very comfortable. It was quiet and had atmosphere. We noticed the little things like spare candles, sarongs and pool towels to use and a fun BBQ area near the pool. The laundry facilities were also useful. We scarcely saw anybody else during our time there even though the place was fully booked. Its about 2km into town, which we both drove and walked. Highly recommended this quirky but comfortable place, and great value.

Possibly it was the position of our apartment, but the outside lighting did make it a little bright inside at night.

As you open the door, you know your stay is going to be memorable! The room is big, the bed comfy and the gardens and swimming pool just perfect! We had room 1 10 minutes walk to the beach and 10 to 15 more to the main street. Better to have a car but surely you can rent bikes too (not sure there are some available at the Pink Flamingo, we did not ask as we had a car). There are a couple or restaurants near by (walking distance) and a bottle store around the corner. You can also use the BBQ for a meal, which we did one night and loved our romantic evening. A good walk to the center an pier but not a inconvenient matter as such

We loved our stay, the gardens were beautiful, the villa was private, lush and comfortable. We loved the outdoor shower. The pool was great we swam a couple of times even though it was a bit cooler weather it was still great. Walking distance to some lovely restaurants and a short drive to the centre of town. We loved it so much we are looking forward to coming back. Our little dog loved it as well.

I had read a few reviews that said the place was run down and needed a face lift. Take no notice of that! Granted one or two fences and gates might benefit from a lick of varnish but the rooms are huge, spotlessly clean and have everything you need. Each room has its own courtyard with private outdoor shower and a large covered area with tables and chairs. Bed is large and super comfortable. The decor is a bit quirky and very colourful but a lot of fun.
