Loved the room location. The couches were very comfortable (much better than when I stayed 2 years ago). Pool was wonderful. Easy access to the beach - light lit the paths etc.

The following are bad things but could imporve The new electric stove top was hard to clean. I think you need to put in the correct material to clean it. The fry pan needs to be non-stick. The stone floors were dirty - that is, inground dirt. When I walked bare footed my feet were dirty. I wondered if the floors are cleaned more than just a mop over. In the past free WIFI was included - maybe this needs to be clearly spelt out in the advertising information as if I had known I would have organised myself better.

This is our 6th time returning to the Portsea and it’s a fav at port Douglas due to its great location and the pool is a hit with our kids.

We stayed in a room called deluxe but it felt more standard. Apartment was very cosy for 2 adults and 3 kids (thankfully didn’t stay in apartment much) but the main bathroom was a spa bath shower which was so hard to get in and out of. My son actually slipped getting out of this spa bath (after a shower) and badly bruised his back. The kitchen was also too small for prepping meals. This was my least favourite apartment of all the ones we had stayed in the past and it was closest apartment to reception so quite noisy at night.

Our room location was perfect as we had a dual key superior as we had to cater for elderly parent in law so being on the quiet side and no stairs was a bonus. I also appreciated that we had multiple accesses available for the main pool or the beach. We didn't bother with breakfast and just kept things on the cheap with getting our own. Plus for the time of the year being on the beach side meant lovely breezes. USB chargers in bedside lamps were awesome.

Cleaning was a little less than par from 5 years ago when we were there and a lot of the little touches have gone mostly I suspect due to COVID. There used to be a spa for massages etc but that has gone also. Prices have obviously also taken a hit.

Location was perfect. Just a short walk out the back to 4 mile Beach and the marina was close by too. Main street was within walking distance too. Room was nice and clean and a lovely balcony with a nice view.

Would have appreciated a towel exchange as standard for a week's stay, not having to request one. There are so many rooms and corridors, it's like a maze. We got lost a few times. Signage could have been better.

Location is great and property has laundry and underground car parking which is ideal when on a road trip. Staff were all super friendly and helpful

Rooms could do with a little refresh but we’re still absolutely fine. Our room had lattes windows which meant when it was raining felt a little damp as there was no glass behind the lats

Pool was awesome and perfect for our toddler, the lagoon bar cocktails were so yum! Nice walk into town and the room was great with nice view overlooking the pool.

I understand that porta cot mattress' are flat but definitely would BYO or source elsewhere. If it was complementary i wouldn't have worried but for the extra cost of $10 a night we couldn't use it as the mattress was terrible. An easier way to receive new towels, room clean on stays.

Really loved the lagoon pool area, and the overall atmosphere of the place. It was very pretty and relaxing. The room decor was up to date and fresh too. Also liked the 24 hour reception with super friendly and helpful staff, the information wall with so many ideas for tours etc.

We didnt have all the dishes and cutlery we needed, such as plates, bowls, knives and forks, but the staff were happy to allow us to borrow it from the breakfast room. Also, the breakfast was nice and included most things you would normally see, but I didnt see any cooked items such as bacon or eggs. The shower fittings could also have been a little bit better quality, but it was a minor quibble. Overall, I'd be more than happy to stay again.

Fantastic location close to the beach. Beautiful aesthetic and great facilities. Loved the tennis court, choice of pools and the overall appeal of the hotel and layout. Our room was perfectly positioned for evening sunsets. We loved our room and position.

Our apartment needed a good deep clean and towels were limited during our stay due to an unforeseen issue.

We are a family of 5, we were accommodated in the 2 bedroom superior room and they met our bedding requirements, 1 large double bed, 2 single beds and a cot. Beautiful setting, great pools, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms.

Continental breakfast for $25 each is a bit sad. If it was $30 and a hot breakfast I’d absolutely pay. The main fridge in the kitchen also smelt like rotting fish, maybe from the previous guests however we just used the secondary one in the kids room.

Great pool area for the kids. also having tennis court available. Proximity to main street(about 500m) and easy access to beach were all good points.

One of the side pools, had not been maintained and got sore eyes all day. Avoided for rest of my stay and used other pools in particular main pool. Main pool bar has very poor choice of wine. Clearly main emphasis is cocktails. I have the sauvignon planc and the pinot grigio, both very ordinary and it meant I did not order another drink for the rest of my 2 week stay
