Long Island accessible by ferry (skippered by Phil) from Shute Harbour Marine Terminal. 30 min travel time direct to 'front door' of resort. Fabulous meet and greet by Kate and Abbie. Luggage & Personal Bags transferred to Cabin or Bure by staff while you check in at reception. Full run down re resort and activities available for use and book. Stayed in a Bure (5) with Ocean view. Comfortable lodgings. Short walk to main Building (Bistro/Reception/Pool/Mini Shop) Indoor/Outdoor dining. Outside evening bar/ Covered & Open seating area. Perfect to watch sunsets. East side of Island perfect to watch Sunrise (Tennis Court located there). Staff absolutely first rate. Loved our 3 night stay.

No cleaning equipment or towels in gym Some of the accommodation hibiscus not well maintained run down. Kayaks BCF cheapies food limited selections same menu for a week everything with chips no gluten free and 1vegetarian option. Preferred option of cooking own food with choice of restaurant . Staff unskilled and not overly friendly .. reported tree down over Sandy bay track .. no follow up

Amazing location and the bungalow was so close to the beach! Beautiful facilities and the staff were so lovely and accommodating.

Food was very expensive (we originally picked the location as it was self catering, however we weren't informed until 3 weeks before our trip it had changed to restaurant service only - it wasn't much notice as we could have looked at other places for self catering). My husband was charged a lot for a romantic seafood dinner as well, that turned out we could have ordered the same thing at the restaurant and taken it down to the beach ourselves, as it seemed he really only paid for a table cloth and a candle.

The location is superb! Secluded, quiet and very relaxing. Couldn't have asked for a better location. So very pretty! It blew me away! Our room had a fabulous outlook and a great place to hang out with the birds, a beer (or cocktail) and a book. We were in Room 9 beachfront Bungalow. Rooms are a little run down but I think it suits the price point and location. I've stayed in far worse for far more! Easy and friendly transfer from shute harbour. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to relax and chill - get away from it all!

Food variety at the restaurant was a little lacking - pub grub. Also, i understand that staff can't just hide in their quarters when not working a shift - but little things like staff taking up prime spots such as in front of the fire place at night or hanging out on the beach in front of the sunset bar blocking the sunset view for visitors needs to be considered.

The remoteness and relaxed feeling, the facilities and layout of the rooms was brilliant. Gardens were maintained exceptionally. Pool was perfect size and well laid out close to amenities and plenty of room for guests. The beach was impressive with a variety of options to swim, paddle, fish, relax. Overall quietness of the resort and with a no kids policy made it such a relaxing enjoyable stay.

Staff were very friendly however a little unprofessional mainly when not working e.g. drinking straight from behind bar, walking around with no shirts, driving four wheeler and golf kart too quickly. Also didn't like the way activities were presented. E.g. fishing gear was poor quality, day trips and activities weren't promoted to us. Walking tracks and other local activities could be better presented. Kitchen was quite good however would have preferred more of a mediterranean style menu that better matched the location. E.g. the main dish served was curries and specials were pesto pasta and 'fresh market fish' was Salmon which is unusual as Salmon is not a local fish here. Would have been a lot better to have local reef fish.

Seclusion

Getting to the island is not clear and also expensive and a massive pain. It's great once you get there.

Lovely peaceful surroundings, comfortable room, friendly staff. A great place for a quiet break away from the world with delicious Pina Coladas!

The food was good, but overpriced. Facilities are a little run down, but they are working through them to update them all.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience. The rooms are really spacious and beds are really comfortable. We came specifically to relax and found this to be perfect. Phone reception was a bit dodgy but honestly we felt that was a win! We both had wonderful massages and used all the facilities. So nice to have a tennis court and access to paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear. There are two walks travelling south and north from the resort which are lovely, and packed with butterflies. Every evening the resort opens the “sunset bar” with stunning views. The main plus were the staff, everyone we came across was extremely friendly and accomodating. You can tell they all get along with each other really well which makes it a really pleasant place to be. Thank you! Also, the prices of food and the shop/massages were all very reasonable. Cocktails are about $20 and beers $7-10, wines approx $10. Food was pub prices. So the final bill was way less than we had anticipated for a remote resort stay.

The food was all delicious but it’s practically a pub menu. Which we love, but can make you feel a bit gross after too many days in a row. We were lucky to have brought across some breakfast and lunch foods to keep in the room fridge which really helped. And ate at the restaurant in the evenings. They have rotating pasta, fish and curry meals each night which was a nice touch. But if I could make any suggestion it would be to include some healthier options. We would have loved to see some healthy salads, burrito bowls or similar.

The beach front villa was postcard perfect - we absolutely loved it, with great view, and beach access directly from the deck. The restaurant food was delicious, and reasonably priced. The beach was a great backdrop for snorkeling/swimming/kayaking and we explored all of the surrounding trails on the island, which were well maintained!

The transfers to and from the island were slightly more expensive than expected (from Hamilton Island, cheaper from the mainland), it would be great to know in advance other guests travelling to reduce the cost, however the boat journey was also enjoyable. There was a slight smell from the septic system, however we understand this cannot be avoided.

Incredible location on this overlooked island. It's wonderfully quiet and serene compared to the other busier islands. The accommodation offered great value, with the added benefit of being right on the beachfront, where I could snorkel, kayak, and swim directly from in front of the cabin. The bay is breathtaking, so many Whales that were so close to watch from the hammock on my personal balcony and the hikes provided easy access to other beautiful beaches.

There were only a few minor things to note. Initially, there were limited vegetarian dinner options, and I only discovered on the third night that there was a separate menu with more choices. The food stock area also had a limited selection of snacks, so I'd recommend bringing some of your own provisions, especially since there was a fridge and microwave available. Additionally, getting off the island to explore others or join cruises was a bit challenging; many services don’t pick up from Long Island, requiring a transfer that cost $350 compared to $180 when booked from Airlie.
